Overview 2005

Golddust was first observed by a field researcher in January of 2005, moving through the Sora Asiatic marshlands. She was spotted and approached by W91 (Dathan), the dominate male of the territory, and after a brief interaction, appeared to be accept her into the pack.

In the few weeks that followed, Gold was spotted stalking elk around Pike's Lake, and frequenting the Prairie. It was here, where a trailcam caught a particularly stunning photo of the wolf, that she got her name. The image captured Gold silhouetted by a rising sun, giving the illusion of gold-tipped fur, and inspiring her moniker. February 2005

Sometime between then and February, Golddust was captured by a local resident with the intent of entering her in the local animal fighting circuit. Acquired documentation shows that she was pitted against a canine named Thrawl, but the outcome of that fight, and any subsequent interactions, weren't recorded.

At some point, through human intervention or her own tenacity, Golddust escaped captivity and was next spotted some distance south of the marshes, and in the Silver Glades territory. A male, W858, presumed to be her mate, was seen escorting her and three young pups CA1 (Ageni), CA2 (Akecheta), and CA3 (Enola), the first hybrid gray and arctic wolves to be born in the Valley.

Two of the pair's offspring, CA2 and CA3, were observed to be particularly energetic and feisty, frequently fighting amongst themselves and displaying dominance to other adult packmembers. Golddust was noted as being patient but firm with the pair during this time, often breaking up squabbles by nipping or physically separating the pups.
