*Bald Eagle*

A young bald eagle, covered in the brown feathers of adolescents, was perched near the edge of the Canyon. She looked thin and weak. Her head was hung downward so that her sharp beak brushed the ground. Despite the mild weather, the young eagle was panting and out of breath and didn't seem too aware of her surroundings.

Bahula

The reddish grey year old female hybrid padded around the canyon. She decided to take a walk around, and went to the canyon. She smelled the air, and saw a bird that looked exausted. She, being a curious adolecent, padded over and sat down in front of the bird. "Hi, Im Bahula." she said.

*Bald Eagle*

The eagle whipped his head around, watching the hybrid with wide, frightened eyes. She lifted her wobbly head up and rocked back onto her talons, trying to sit up more. Finally deciding that Bahula didn't want to eat her, or at least she hoped that was so, the raptor spoke up, "I'm Learan. Nice to meet you." She closed her beak now, stopping her panting although her breathing was still very rapid. She was terribly thin, but her feathers covered that up.

Bahula

Bahula smiled, her tail wagging. "Cool." she noticed that the poor eagle looked thin. "Are you ok?" she asked.

Learan

Learan hung her head down, "Well..." she didn't want to complain, but the pain of hunger drove her to tell her story, "My parents died of something... something that made me sick too. I jumped from my nest to try and find food." The eagle looked down, her eyes clouded by tears, "I can't get food yet. Not without them. I'm... I'm starving."

Bahula

The pup felt sad for the eagle. "Learan, Im so sorry. Maybe I could hunt for you." she said. The reddish pup's head was hung in deep thought. "If you get on my back, I can take you to the tall grass prarie, and I could get something for you to eat." she added.

Learan

Learan looked up suddenly, gazing at Bahula hopefully, "Would you do that for me? Thank you so much!" She bowed her dark-colored head and then hobbled closer to the pup. Being as careful as she could, Learan climbed onto Bahula's back and curled her talons so that she wouldn't hurt the wolf. Her wings were spread out slightly for balance. "I will repay you in any way." The young eagle vowed sincerely.
