Aquila

Limping from old age and wincing with painful injuries, the haggard and worn male struggles up the trail. His shoulder, neck, and maw hold the many injuries marked by the fangs of his two new alphas. Aspen Mist was dead, and his mate was missing. He was most certainly an omega now, and doomed to death once it turned winter. Lying down near the cliff edge, Aquila howls out in his fury, then his sorrow. Once out of breath, he lays his tired head on his forepaws and watches the valley below. He didn't care really if he got back up, he was very old for a wolf anyways; he had lived a long life.

Stormfalcon

The raven hued she-wolf makes her way toward Aquila, tail low, not being aggressive. She whines softly, knowing something was wrong. *Aspen Mist is dead, isn't he?* Her voice was calm, as she looks at Aquila. *That other male killed him.* There was a quaver in her voice, of somewhat fury. But she new it was none of her business to intrude, but she wanted to help Aquila in anyway.

Aquila

He looks up, a bit dejectedly. "Yes, Moon Eyes killed him. He's a very aggressive wolf... and apparently his new mate is also." Aquila turns to look over the valley below with his dull yellow orbs, then rises up and looks back towards Stormfalcon. "Is your paw alright from that trap?"

Stormfalcon

*It didn't do much damage, it wasn't a very good trap.* She looks at him. *I can make Moon Eyes back down if you want.*

Aquila

"Would you? I think he far too aggressive to be a pack leader." but suddenly he thinks of something else; who would be alpha? He was far too old, and there were no other males in the pack.

Aquila shakes his head to these thoughts, it would be better if Moon Eyes was driven away, at least from the alpha position.

Keilo

He slows down then stops several hundred yards from the two wolves, watching curiously. He flicks an ear back to signal to his fellow wolves - if they followed him - to stay silent. He didn't want to intrude.

Stormfalcon

Stormfalcon catches sight of Keilo, and nods for him and the others to approach. Then, she turns to Aquila. *I could drive him out of alphaship, but we need to find one to be the alpha male. Oh, by the way, Aquila, this is Keilo, my beta male. Keilo, this is Aquila.*

Aquila

He nods his head in greetance, "Hello Keilo. And yes, someone will have to take his place, and I'm far too old. Do you know of anyone?"

Keilo

Nods to Aquila, "Nice to meet you." Keilo glances back again to see if Wespero and Cedar had followed, then turned back to Stormfalcon and Aquila.

Wespero

She slinks up, a little lower to the ground than her pack mates to show friendly intentions. Wespero looks upon Aquila curiously, but respectful, for she saw he was an elder wolf.

Cedar

Following after Wespero, Cedar stops beside her and watches Aquila. He glances up at Stormfalcon, and can see no hostility toward this strange old wolf, so he relaxes his posture to also show no hostility.

Stormfalcon

*No, I don't know any males that would be good, but I could find one.*

Aquila

"Thank you very much. It is greatly appreciated." Aquila then looks at the two newcomers a bit cautiously. But catching their scent, he learns they belong to Stormfalcon's pack and so he waves his tail good-naturedly.

Firewalker

A large, brawny masculine makes his way toward the gathering. He wags his tail to show his friendly intentions, before speaking. "Hello there. I'm Firewalker. Who would you be?"

Stormfalcon

The she-wolf turns, a snarl playing on her lips, before it fades away. She wags her tail in a playful manner. *Hullo Firewalker. What are you doing out here?*

Aquila

His fur bristles involuntarily at Firewalker when he notices Stormfalcon's first reaction to the male. But his fur relaxes again as she greets him. Aquila curls his tail over his forepaws and watches the fives wolves with interest, if not a little bit of nervousness.

Firewalker

He smiles, wagging his tail. *Not bad, how about you?* He looks over at Aquila, and smiles. *Hello there. I'm Firewalker, who would you be?*

Stormfalcon

She smiles, wagging her tail, before she stops, fur bristling. *There calling to you, Aquila.*

Firewalker

The masculine jumps, looking again at Stormfalcon. He now knew the older one's name, but he didn't know who Stormfalcon was talking about. "Who's we?"

Aquila

He tilts his ears in the direction of his pack lands, and also hears them calling him. "My new alphas are calling me. The alphas before them were killed just before I came to the Canyon." he sighs glances toward the trail that leads down to the valley bellow. He was tired after the brief battle against the alphas, and climbing the trail had made him tired. He would return to his pack later.

Stormfalcon

She looks at Firewalker, before an idea dawned on her. She looks at Aquila, making silent signals that he could be the alpha. The new alpha of the pack. She new Firewalker, for he was her friend since pup-hood. He was gentle, but would hold his position well.

Firewalker

"What's going on?" he looks curiously from Aquila to Stormfalcon, wondering what was going on.

Stormfalcon

She looks at Firewalker. *Aquila wants Moon Eyes kicked out of his position because he killed the other alpha, my friend, and his friend. We where looking for a new alpha to take his place, after me and the new alpha kill him. We were wondering if that alpha could be you.*

Firewalker

He stands there for a moment, confused, and kind of shocked. But then he remembered the old times, when he and Stormfalcon's alpha had been killed. She had killed him after, but it didn't matter. He would help avenge the death of the old alpha. He looks back and Stormfalcon, his eyes cold and hard. "I accept. We'll go find them now." He trots off, hoping Stormfalcon was following.

Stormfalcon

She turns to her pack. *Watch Aquila, and make sure no harm comes to him.* Then, she sets off, ready to hunt some Moon Eyes.

Keilo

He nods, "We will watch over him." Keilo turns to Aquila and gives a thoughtful look before lying down, ears up and listening for any dangers.

Nau

With reddish hued eyes and drooping head, Nau totters up the cliff trail, following his pack's scent. He flops down on the ground beside the group, looking at Aquila with mild interest. "What's going on here?"

Aquila

Aquila's nose quivers, picking up the scent of yet another strange wolf. This male also belonged to Stormfalcon's pack... and he had been very close to a fire, or at least its smoke. Something seems familiar about this particular wolf... "Hey, aren't you the one who attacked Aspen Mist a while ago?"

Nau

He blinks, sweeping his paw over his irritated eyes. "I believe I did... yes, I remember now. I was hoping to claim his pack, but he was healthier than I was, and had more experience. And you must be a subordinate to his pack? Your scent resembles that of the Aspen Grove pack."

Wespero

She sighs, flattening her ears. ~He didn't know Aspen Mist had died? Or that was a factor in the alpha's death?~ Wespero gives Nau an odd look, but kept the thoughts to herself.

Nau

He hears her sigh, and looks over to see the look she gave him, "What? What's going on? Now don't be mad at me for attacking him! I was just trying to become alpha! There's nothing bad about that!" Nau says defensively, and looks to the other pack members tensely.

Aquila

*He nearly died after you attacked him, and Stormfalcon saved his life by taking him to a kind human. But another male, like yourself, came by and finished him off while he was still weak." Aquila watches Nau cautiously, then remarks, "And no, it's not bad for you that my alpha died, but it is bad for me because I would died under the new alpha's control."

Nau

Nau rumbles deep in his chest, agitated by the old wolf's remark.

"You don't belong to my pack, and so your life doesn't concern me." was his snide reply. "Besides, you're too old to be of use to any pack! I mean, you can't hunt any more, can you?" Nau flicks his tail and eyes the old wolf without any regret of his words.

Cedar

Cedar glares at Nau, his mane bristling slightly, "Watch it, Nau! Stormfalcon told us to protect Aquila. And I'll enforce our alpha's wishes if I need too."

Keilo

He stands up, fur and tail raised above everyone else. Tension was high, and may result in a pack battle. "Nau, Cedar is right. Stormfalcon told us to watch over Aquila. She and a friend are settling matters in the Aspen Grove territory right now, there's no need for hostility." He glares straight into Nau's eyes, with his ears pressed forward in dominance. He growled lightly, suggesting that the subordinate obey or be punished.

Nau

He looks away from the beta's glare, "Fine." Nau shifts restlessly and wipes his paw over his eyes again.

Cedar

He also turns his head away from the beta to avoid a possible glare; it's not that he wants to be disobedient, it's just to keep good feelings amongst his pack mates. Calming down, Cedar watches Nau with caution, making sure he wasn't up to something.

Wespero

She watches the male wolves, almost amused as they settle their argument. She figured Keilo could handle it. Wespero stands up and presses her muzzle into the breeze, picking various info. Not finding what she wanted; which was information on where her alpha was currently, she sits back, bored.

Keilo

He quiets his rumbling and sits down, keeping a keen eye on Nau. With everything settled for now, he also begins to wonder about his alpha and her friend, wondering how the battle was going. He would have been eager to join in, but Keilo knew it was an alpha battle.

Keilo

He hears his alpha's howl and waves his tail slightly. "It's safe for you to go back to your territory now, Aquila." He states, then turns and heads off toward the Aspen Grove territory to safely lead the old wolf there.

Aquila

Rising stiffly to his feet also, he follows after Keilo. Aquila throws a suspicious glance back at Nau, to make sure he wasn't up to anything still.

Nau

He gives a large yawn, showing his powerful teeth more than his boredom. He shoots Cedar a savage glare when the beta had left, then got up and left hastily, heading back to his territory.

Cedar

He rumbles a warning at the lanky male, glaring him down until he left. Cedar quiets down and watches Keilo and Aquila leave. He turns his chestnut-hued eyes toward Wespero, and waves his tail, then trots off back to the pack lands.
