Nova

The light grey pup padded to the cliffs. Making her way to a drop off she looked over. The valley looked peaceful and quiet. Suddenly she lost her footing and slid down. Thankfully her sharp claws dug into the rock and she hoisted her self up. Laughing quietly at her almost deathly fall she walked a safe distance from the edge and lay down, letting the wind blow her long ears to one side.

Not long after she had relaxed a yellow butterfly crossed her path. Grinning she crouched as low as the rocks would let her and when her prey landed on a patch of grass she sprang. As Nova decened upon the insect her paws trapped it. Lifting them up slowly she sighed with dissapointment. No butterfly. She growled sofly and stood up shaking her self and looking out of the cliff again. Sitting down azure eyes watched birds flutter to and from trees. Howling for anyone to come to her wake she waited.

Shena

Sleek and agile Ocelot swiftly glided down from her nest in the tree canopies. Whiskers twitching, she padded up to the wolf pup.

Nova

Looking out over the land Nova did not realise the Ocelot had come. Ears shot backward and nose quivvered. Turning she fell back yet again but dug her claws in. She grinned and pulled her self up the moutain for a second time.
Hello. I'm Nova. Who Are You?
The pups ears flapped in the wind and she took a relaxed sitting position. The ocelot didn't look threatening.

Shena

The minx hardly ever spoke. She was wize and indipendant, though she found the dog rather perculiar. "I am the cat that walks by herself, and all places are alike to me."

"And when the moon comes and night falls, she is the cat that walks by herself, and all places are alike to her. Then she goes out to the Wet Wild Woods or up the Wet Wild Trees or on the Wet Wild Mountains, wagging her wild tail and walking by her wild lone"

Nova

Nova's pointed ears perked at the strangers pectular speech and snorted. "I see. Well, er, do you have a name?" Her snorts we're not of discust but of curiosity. Nova's nose was sharp and she could detect an ant in a wild boar heard. When the moist nose went to work she could not help but snort. She was also at a loss of words. This cat was ... different.

Shena

The Ocelot hesitated. "I am Shena." She said quickly, whiskers twitching. Her penatrating deep brown pools could not leave this interesting and perculiar creature for a second. "And when the moon comes and night falls, she is the cat that walks by herself, and all places are alike to her. Then she goes out to the Wet Wild Woods or up the Wet Wild Trees or on the Wet Wild Mountains, wagging her wild tail and walking by her wild lone"

Nova

Nova nodded. "Shena. Nice I like it." The pup noticed the way the ocelot was stairing and her ears flicked back in confusion. "Is something wrong?" Her blue orbs looked into the cats brown ones. Something wasn't right, she could tell.

Shena

"I can't help but find a fine creature such as yourself amazingly percurliar. For I have seen many a beast, but none of your kind." She spoke more freely now, but still kept her words strong and to the point. "And when the moon comes and night falls, she is the cat that walks by herself, and all places are alike to her. Then she goes out to the Wet Wild Woods or up the Wet Wild Trees or on the Wet Wild Mountains, wagging her wild tail and walking by her wild lone"

Nova

Pointed ears flicked back into attention when the feline pronounced her "amazingly percurliar". Nova's head moved to one side. "If you have seen many animals how come you have not seen a wolf. They are a very commin animal." Her ice-blue eyes looked into the cats dark brown ones.

Shena

"The wolf is a very endangered animal." The huntress spoke. Her thin banner swayed slowly as she took a lying position on a drooping tree branch. Then she said, "I have never seen a wolf offspring."

Nova

The pup watched the cat with thoughtfulness. "Endangered?" Nov had never heard of such a word and it made her even more confused than she was now.

Shena

"Yes. Humans are hunting wolves for sport or accusation of being a killer of game. Though humans are brainless creatures, as I myself have experienced. Their young are plump and hairless, they hve no tails and can't catch food." Shena spoke slowly. "But still I am the cat that walks by herself, and all places are alike to me, thus I shall not give you further nervousness." "And when the moon comes and night falls, she is the cat that walks by herself, and all places are alike to her. Then she goes out to the Wet Wild Woods or up the Wet Wild Trees or on the Wet Wild Mountains, wagging her wild tail and walking by her wild lone"

Nova

She gasped at the feline's words. Hunting wolves? No... no wolves would get them first wouldn't they? She listented more. The childeren of these humans were hair less? Hairless? Nova scrached her ear and listened to Shena's repeat the "I walk by myself" speech. Must you repeat that everytime you talk?

Shena

The Ocelot laughed. "You are curious. What more can I tell you? Ah yes. My way of talking is my custom. Most don't know me but they know my name. I must make sure it stays like that. It's like me asking you why your name's Nova."

Nova

Nova sighed. Well I guess custom is custom and I don't know why my name is Nova so... She needed not to finish her sentance because there was nothing else to say. Well, er, do you have any special place you like to visit or are you always going some place else? I like it up here. I can see alot. The chill of the wind and the churping of the eagles reminded her of home.

Shena

"I never stay in one place for more than a day. I don't see the need to, because all places are alike to me." She spoke."

Nova

The dog sighed. She wasn't going to get anywhere. Fine, fine. So, do you like to play games? Nova grinned she had one that was her favorite. Tag.

Shena

"Nope." Shena said quickly. "Well, farewell. I best be off." With those quick words the ocelot leapt gracefully into the tall tree canopies and was soon out of sight.

Nova

The pup saw Shena leap off into the woods with a heavy heart. The ocelot was the only friend she had had since - well let just say since a tragic day. Oh well, easy come, easy go.

Shena

The cat lay smirking in the tree quietly. She had grown fond of the strange creature, but found it easier as an independant individual.

Nova

Nova could not see the cat in the tree and sighing she called into the woods, "I, uh, I guess I'll be going now too. yeah..." The small grey and white canine scrached her ear and turned to watch the view.

Shena

"Bye then!" The cat called from the trees, her tail drooping off the branch she wa perched on.

Nova

The pup jumped and wheeled around from where she was. The cat haden't gone after all. Growling playfully her sharp nose hit the ground and the dull clicking noises sounded. The scent of Shena wasn't pungent but there was just enough of it to find her. Nova's small body wiggled and turned and swerved. Finally she caught up and saw a wiggeling tail drooping down. Ah Ha! I've found you! Nova sat down and howled tryumphantly.

Shena

"Hmmmmm, ya. You got me." The mature cat said. Shena smiled warmly and drew back her ears. Whiskers twitched. Shena mre quiet than a mouse leapt down and landed soundlessly on the twigs and leaves on the ground. Her eyes penatrated on a small bush. Paw after paw, the minx prowled closer.

Nova

The little tyke grinned and her tail lashed fastly. Well, yeah. It was easy! Nova toppeled to the ground, flattening it as she rolled about on the high moutain the grin still on her face. As the feline quieted and fixed her eyes on the brush Nova stopped her glaunting and watched.

Shena

Shena turned round and smiled at the pup, before turning her attention back to the bush. She prowled closer until she was two metres away. Ears perked. WHiskers twitched. Tail flicked. Shena leapt.

Nova

Nova grinned as the feline turned and watched as she turned back to her prowling. As Shena lept pointed ears alighed and she barked madly. Though the pup didn't know what the cat was doing she did know that it was something fun.

Shena

As the pup started the barking frenzy, a voilent movement shook the bushes and a small deer darted out, baying with sheer fright. Shena darted out with lightning speed, almost faster than the swift deer. Teeth bared and claws outstretched, she made a flying leapt. The deer screached as the cat tore her throat and she collapsed, lifeless. Shena dropped the buck and licked her chops. "coming?" She asked the pup.
