Blackout

On his way here he paused by a cave where he saw faint traces of blood..he smelt it but the scent was too much of a mixture to tell but it wasn't Thier parents so he continued on

Stormrunner

Stormrunner stumbled across the dried remnants of blood as well, though the fierce wind storm the previous evening had done well to scatter the scent of the wounds' owner. He lingered for a moment near the cave, nose to the ground and smoky tail cricked in apprehension. "I don't think this is from them." He finally declared at length, having gotten a snippet of an unfamiliar banner. Still, it made him worry, and that pressed the alpha onward, heading instinctively for the alcove where Starscream often brought the pack.

It was then that a dreadful odor caught his nares and stopped the wolf fully in his tracks. Death. And it wasn't the kind of death scent that promised a free meal. This one was intertwined with the familiar banner of loved ones, and immediately brought a heartbroken whine from the usually composed Stormrunner. His ears went back and the confidence in his stride became a little loose as he continued forward, now at a rushed pace.

"Mom, dad..." He uttered this whimper upon seeing his parents, resting as peacefully as they had been yesterday, with no scavengers yet save for the flies to disturb their slumber. He nudged them both, softly, then threw his head back and rent the air with a mournful cry.

Blackout

He followed his brother and pressed his face to his parents. He too sent out a mournful howl. It was after the howl that he picked up Megatron's scent. Megatron was hereHe said quietly.

Stormrunner

Stormrunner ended his sorrowful howl on a quivering note and looked back down to his parents. He gave another, quieter whine before dropping his head to lick the muzzles of both, one last time. "You have four new grandpups. They're going to miss growing up with you, but they'll know all about you. And grandma and grandpa too, I promise." His moistened gaze trailed to the mossy skull of Cortinarri, not far from where her son now lay. Later, when his children were a little older, he would bring them here.

The alpha sighed heavily and did his best to clear his thoughts. Blackout's comment helped in doing that, but it also raised a new point of concern. Stormrunner analyzed the scents again and nodded in confirmation, "You're right - but where is he now?" A note of worry tainted his voice and he looked about. His brother had been heavily injured when he left, and any number of accidents could have befallen him. Stormrunner tilted his muzzle back again, this time releasing a howl that was louder and more direct - it was a call for his missing brother.

Blackout

his tail flicked as he sniffed around He went that way, I think he had a companionHe said calmly.

Stormrunner

Storm searched further, nose to the dusty ground, until he too found the scent of another wolf. This one was a female, and an unknown to Stormrunner. His tail stiffened. Had this other wolf caused harm to his brother? Or was this a friendly encounter? "I'm going to follow it; we need to make sure he's okay." A little more investigation led the wolf away from the alcove and down away from the hazardous cliffs. It seemed his brother was heading southeast into the Valley. Without another word, Stormrunner began to follow the trail, which would ultimately lead him to the Manahcob Downs.
