Megatron
He was still sore the next day but thanks to his new companion he made it. He got up and stretched however as he walked out of the cave two familiar scents reached him but they were accompany by the smell of death. He stood for the longest time staring in the direction his father had once taken them too before he moved.
When he got there he saw them. His mother laying next to his father with her head resting on his father back like they usually did but he knew they were gone.he moved to them and pressed his face against them both without disturbing the bodies
Ta'kali
Ta'kali had honored her decision to stay with Megatron, and had kept the other company through the night. He may be a bit on the older side, but he still clearly had a lot of fight left in him, and if his wounds were any measure, he'd given his brother one hell of a battle. Kali had also taken a shining to his strength of character, approving of his no-quit attitude despite this set-back that he'd faced. This was a male she could follow, and one she was ready to walk beside to wherever his journeys took him.
The following morning, the pale she-wolf was matching Megatron's stride, until the scent of death caught in her nares. She gave pause and looked to her companion, but he seemed to be frozen in place. "Megatron?" She queried gently, without expecting an answer. Something about this scent hit him far harder than it had hit her.
Wordlessly, the wolfess followed Megatron when finally he began to move again. They traveled a short distance onward before they encountered the source of Meg's solemn behavior; two elder wolves, resting beneath a rocky overhang. Cuddled together, one might mistake the pair for indulging in a quick nap, and indeed Ta'kali was struck by the serenity of the scene. But her nose told her this was an eternal rest, while her eyes confirmed her earlier thoughts; the old female looked nearly identical to Megatron. This had to be his mother.
Ta'kali lowered her head and took a seat at a respectful distance to let Megatron approach the pair. The gentleness of his interaction further backed the fact that these had to be his parents, or close relatives at the very least. She held her silence for sometime before speaking in a tone that seemed oddly gentle compared to anything she'd said so far, "I'm sorry, Megatron. Were they your parents?"
Megatron
A lot was running through his mind now. He hadn't even said good bye to them when he left. But they also seemed to of been here just as long as he had been away from the pack so perhaps atleast they didn't die worried. He kept his head against them not caring that his scent would lie with them or that his brothers may find them and then find his scent. He was silent as he kept his face pressed gently to the two. they areHe mumbled. His tail had dropped now as he just stood there.
Ta'kali
She hadn't known these wolves, but her heart panged to see her new friend enduring this sorrow. Megatron had endured a lot in the past twenty-four hours, and she wasn't yet close enough to him to offer any intimate solace. So instead she merely nodded to his answer and let silence reign for several minutes, allowing Megatron to mourn his parent's passing in his own way.
After some time, Ta'kali spoke again, "They look peaceful." She now stepped forward, gingerly drawing closer to him to offer him a light touch of the muzzle against his shoulder, just to remind him that she was there to support him. Unlike Megs though, Kali didn't interact with the parents, leaving only Megatron's scent for the rest of the pack to find once they realized Tay and Star had never come back home since their outing yesterday.
Megatron
He heard her but for now remained silent even as she touched him and finally he pulled away. lets gohe said as he headed away now. Limping. He would find land to call their own.
Ta'kali
"Alright." She agreed quietly. She let her gaze rove over the pair one final time before she turned with Megatron and left them to their peace, silently following along side her wounded friend.
