Aella

The snowy female pranced along the outer-most edge of the canyon, her golden eyes sweeping the breathtaking landscape. Her posture was loose, aloof almost, and it would seem that she had no care in the world about what was going on around her. But that's quite the contrary. Her sensitive nose was in overdrive, documenting anything and everything - out of habit, mind you - that could allow her a better understanding of the kind of inhabitants she might find here. Aella had a talent, one not so rare, but it was an essential tool. The Creator had taken one of her natural senses and made it better, no beyond better. Adjectives like ‘uncanny’ or ‘spectacular’ would be more fitting for this description. You would never know it, but her sense of smell was ‘uncanny,’ there that word seems fitting. Not to the point of those ridiculous unnatural talents you might hear about, no, most definitely not, but it came in handy when tracking and hunting or, as it often was in her case, running.

This time around, she was running ... again. Not away from something so much as running to something, she just didn't know what exactly it was that she was looking for at the moment. It was a passing fancy, actually. She'd grown tired of her former home and come here, but there were others who did not approve of her constant change of lifestyle. You could call this lifestyle one of a lone wolf, but that wasn't Aella. It wasn't that she lost her pack or was exiled, but rather, she'd need a change in scenery - a fresh start with fresh faces.

So here she was, in a new valley, starting over. Maybe she would stick around.

Ha.

That's what she always said, but she never found anything to tie her down. Nothing had ever kept her in one place before. I highly doubt she will start now.

A swift shake of her head cleared her thoughts for more analysis. So this place had potential, she had to give it that much. It was decent. Moist air rose in clouds from her partially opened maw, her tongue lolling almost delicately over one side just tasting the slight breeze as it rolled over her now still form. Aella’s ears swiveled around, drinking in the noise and when she was satisfied, she rolled back onto her haunches and sat, still as ever, an unmoving porcelain statue. The only signs of life were the clouds of breath and the flicker of her warm golden eyes.

.The Devils Son,
the Devils Bane
Never Knowing, am I quite sane?
Evil fake, pretty liar
Come with me, and step into the fire
Love Always, Your Fallen Angel

The sound of running pads could be heard, breath being released from lungs as the two wolves dashed across the canyon. The first was a tiny female, her coat a color of blue black and her eyes silver with laces of red. Mahotsukia appeared innocent and sweet, but she was anything but. The other, he was much larger, swamping his little sister in size. He was a massive one hundred and thirty pounds to her seventy, and yet both of them moved with such power and grace. Mahotsukia stopped and veered right, then made a mad dash towards the canyon's steep edge before slamming to a halt just before plunging to her death. Datenshi followed suit, but he wasn't nearly as graceful as she and had to struggle to stay away from the edge of the canyon. This can't keep up, Sukia. He hissed. His voice was deep, angry, and filled with both love and hatred. Mahotsukia turned those eyes to his yellow and black ones, but he shook his head. No. I will do it no longer. You must speak for yourself, quit dragging me into your messes with you. Nothing was said, but some form of communication passed for he suddenly shouted I SHALL NOT DO IT ANYMORE! It was enough to startle some nearby deer, and some birds took flight. Enough for Aella to hear. I am not your slave, Mahotsukia. You bow to me, and we both know it. The much smaller black female gave the lowest of growls as her tail raised to arch over her back. Challenge me? Oh, dear Sukia... We both know how you would lose, and I would win. I overpower you, you know this as well as I. You are no fighter. His gaze traveled the canyon. I can't be your voice, Sukia. What will you do if I die, if you do not soon learn to talk? The black male watched his little sister as she turned away from him. That's what I thought. he whispered softly. He inhaled, and caught the scent of aella. Immediatly his hackles raised, and he turned, seeking out the white wolfess who had most likely heard their entire conversation. If harm were to come to Sukia, there would be hell to pay.

Aella

Small flurries floated on the breeze that rolled over the white lady and her twin peaks jumped to attention. The wind brought an interesting story and Aella was intrigued, to say the least. She slowly turned her delicate head to the origins of this story, her nose working furiously to categorize these new bits of information. Her curiosity piqued, she rose gracefully with a yawn and bit of a stretch. This was indeed interesting. There were two of them, she knew, but only one spoke. But ... it was as if this brute was talking to his companion, and yet his companion did not speak. Inwardly, she almost groaned. Had she wandered in a land full of crazies?

Whoa there, Aella. Who are you to talk, little Miss Queen of Crazy?
...
Ha. Now you have nothing to s-.

With a soft shake of her head, quieting the little voice in the back of her mind, she daintily picked her way over to a decent vantage point where she could observe the scene that was unfolding. It was safe to say that she was thoroughly confused with the antics of the brother and sister. Her amber eyes traveled over the scene and then she saw the brute stiffen. Red flag number one. She stiffened as well, but did not turn away. She wasn't intimidated - it took a lot more than raised hackles to scare her. But then again, she seemed to be lacking the whole self-preservation gene, so one might get a better understanding of her when she stepped closer, putting herself in full view of the defensive male. Aella locked eyes with him as he sought her out. She stood still as the ground she stood on, blinking slowly while she awaited a reaction.

.:.DATENSHI.:.

And its Knowing that Your not Quite Sane.

Datenshi followed the movement of the white wolfess, and he growled softly to her. That's when a sharp nip to his rump sent the male skittering sideways and once more nearly off the edge of the canyon. Mahotsukia's eyes were on his. Don't be rude. They said to him. I'm not being rude. He muttered back. He was about to speak when Sukia glided forth, heading towards Aella. She came within a foot, having never gotten the lesson about personal space. Her red and silver eyes bore into Aella's, and she spoke not with her mouth but with those odd colored eyes. I am Mahotsukia, sister of Datenshi. Who are you? She didn't know if Aella read eyes, but many got unerved staring into her own odd colored orbs. It was depressing at times, but a girl had to keep going on somehow. Datenshi came up behind his sister, but he stood at her right shoulder. I am Datenshi. this is my sister Mahotsukia. I hope we did not disturb you. His eyes were yellow, with streaks of black shooting from the pupils. Such odd eyes, these two did carry. Such odd personalities they did have.

Aella

Aella caught low, soft chuckle in her throat as the small sister neatly put her brother in his place as she didn't want to be the rude one. That did not stop her amber eyes from twinkling merrily with laughter. She was thoroughly enjoying their antics but still confused as to how they communicated - then the black femme approached her. Aella's tail rose an inch of two and she held herself higher at the rapid approach, but did nothing more, nothing threatening - just clarifying that if they did have violent intentions, she was not going to back down easily. But no violence ensued and as the two fae's locked eyes, Aella relaxed and cocked her head to the side. This was new. Those eyes were intriguing, too intriguing to turn away in fear or discomfort.

Such strange eyes..

Aella flicked an ear back, sending that annoying little voice back to the depths of her mind once more and stared intensely back, smiling with her eyes. Unfortunately, she was not sure how to the read the message she was sent, but it was no matter. She would have introduced herself anyways. She was extremely curious about these two. Yes, she had been caught off guard when Mahotsukia had approached her so quickly, and even more caught off guard by her eyes but Aella was not one to judge. She liked different, they may be more complex but it was hard to surprise someone who was considered 'different.'

Yeah, you only like them because the different ones don't think you're nuts.

Oh for crying out loud. Really? Was she really going to do this? Bug me NOW? She was getting bolder; she never used to interrupt me in front of others. A soft growl almost erupted, but like the laugh, she caught that before it hit the air. Instead she frowned slightly, but only for the blink of an eye as as intense battle raged on in her cluttered mind. Then Mahotsukia's brother was at her side and Aella acknowledged his presence with a slight nod, her amber pools still sparkling in merriment. She blinked slowly again as he spoke and completely relaxed her stance - tail dropped and loose and she sat back on her haunches once more.

"No, no. You did not disturb me at all."

The snowy female's words were light and airy, but friendly none the less. Her own eyes flickered back and forth from the eyes of the brother to his sister, then back again. They seem to be trustworthy and decent. She had no reason to believe otherwise, well, not yet.

"I am Aella. It is nice to meet you, Mahotsukia, and you, Datenshi."

She paused, her next words just nearly out of her mouth.

Please don't say it. Don't pry! HEY! I SAID DON'T PRY, YOU IDIO-

"Your eyes. I must say, they are very...well I have never seen such on any wolf.

Her curiosity was genuine, almost naive, but there was a motive. Aella locked her eyes on Mahotsukia's, expectantly. She was getting the impression the lithe female did not speak, but she was not sure if it was just a temporary circumstance. Now she waited, fiercely holding the other female's gaze, watching for some sort of answer.

.mahotsukia.

.please love me, and don't turn me away.

Mahotsukia smiled, her black tail swishing to and fro. Her auds twisted towards her brother, then back towards Aella. Such strange eyes Came the look. The silver and red eyes lit up with merriment, and her tail wagged a bit quicker. Thank you, Aella. The said to her. That was when Datenshi spoke up. She doesn't... Speak. Thats when the female lifted a lip to show a white fang at her brother. He flinched. Mahotsukia may be smaller then he, but her temper was sharp and mighty. At least... Not... By normal means. She speaks using her eyes. Body movements. Not her voice. Mahotsukia smiled, but then the male muttered softly under his breath She can speak, but refuses. Those odd color eyes shifted to land on his, and her hackles rose. At least I do not follow the wind at my every whim just because I think it will lead me somewhere good. Now Datenshi rose his hackles, but it was more out of irritation and embarrasment. He couldn't help what he did. It was just.... Habit. Follow the wind, and see where it leads. Simple, easy.... Efficient.

Aella

Aella returned the smile with a brighter one of her own. Well, she had to say, she was taking a liking to these characters. They were quite comical in a sense, but seeing them brought back unwanted, and though she would never admit it, painful, memories and she frowned ever so slightly as she recalled these unpleasantries. The youthful femme had two siblings who had both passed tragically. She was the sole survivor of that litter in a time of great difficulty for her pack but being the only one to care for, her pack had raised as strong as she could possibly be. Her amber pools never left Mahotsukia, but her twin peaks rotated in Datenshi's direction as he spoke and perked forward curiously.

So, doesn't speak with her voice, huh?

Was the question that formed but it was never vocalized, the white wolfess was too busy watching, in silent amazement, as Mahotsukia quickly rose to dominance of her bigger brother. Now, Aella did not see the words passed between the siblings' glance, but she did know a thing or two about following the wind.
That pack of hers, the one that raised her up strong, had been ready to make her their alpha. Her sire, the alpha at that time, was old and dying. From her first days she had been schooled to take over the responsibilty of leading this pack, but when they needed her most, she vanished. Aella's name meant whirlwind, and it was just that, as if she had been caught up in a whirlwind and taken away. So make no mistake, Datenshi is not on his own when it comes to flitting around like a little bird.

Ladies and gents, meet the expert. El could teach you a thing or two about being gone with the wind.

.mahotsukia

Mahotsukia smiled at Aella as they made eye contact. She was a different creature, she truly was with her odd colored eyes and her bizarre habits but she could see the pain in Aella's eyes. She stepped forth and placed a gentle nuzzle to the females neck, trying to comfort her. She was good at reading eyes, body language, when others shut down emotions.... Datenshi growled softly, the sound rumbling deep in his chest. Not everyone is friendly, Sukia. He said in his low growl. The female backed up, but she gave a careless, wolfish shrug. She wasn't one to care really. If she pushed it to far then she was sure that Aella would let her know. Datenshi.... He was different.

.:.THE DEVILS FOOTPRINT.:.

He didn't trust Aella. He didn't trust anyone, his own sister included. Mahotsukia was a liar, and he knew it. A soft breeze suddenly caught him and he closed his eyes, his ears flicking back as he listened. Sukia, we need to go. He murmered softly, his eyes still closed. The female turned to look at him, shaking her head. She'd stay here with aella. He could leave if he wanted. Now, Sukia He hissed softly. Another shake of her head, and hackles raising. She had a mulish expression on her face, and he knew he would get no where with her. He huffed. Aella. If you will excuse me, I have some business to attend to. My sister... Will be staying here. A pleasure to meet you. So formal, so bossy. The black male stalked off, following the wind as it lead him to a wolf he thought he would never again see....

Aella

Aella's eyes widened slightly as Mahotsukia comforted her, but she did not lash out. In fact, she was touched by the gesture; flitting around from place to place never brought you very close to anyone, especially upon first meeting anyone. It was scary how well Mahotsukia really was at reading emotions but that wasn't to mean that she herself was scared of her, just the thought was a bit unsettling.

The white fae glanced at Datenshi as he warned his sister. No, not everyone was friendly. Normally, Aella would be very unnerved and back away, hackles raised, but as she had not been threatened, her routine changed. No, she was curious about this duo.But then one had to leave. She looked on with indifference as Datenshi got a little miffed at Mahotsukia. El was grateful that Mahotsukia was going to stay, but she didn't want to keep her here if it would put a temporary rift between the siblings, she wouldn't want that for anyone. Yet the wolfess watched silently as he strode off and a slightly sarcastic grin made a fleeting appearance on her delicate features.

Yes, a pleasure. came the subtly dry remark. She turned her full attention back to the small black fae and her oddly colored eyes.

"Is he always so overbearing?"

Her tone was now light and merry, she was not being entirely serious, she wouldn't want Mahotsukia to think she really had something against her brother; it just seemed the thing so say after such an exit. The thing is, though, Aella was quite demanding herself, so she really had no room to talk. She had been raised, somewhat spoiled, with anything and everything her pack could possibly get for her. Call her high maintenance, if you will.

If only she knew how bossy YOU are.

Came that little voice in her head.. AGAIN. This was NO time for fun and games, Aella was in the presence of another wolf, there was no sense in getting riled up, so that little voice, well Aella harshly told it to ‘can it’ until they were alone. Then she’d really rip into it, well, herself I guess. I mean, the voice was coming from her own mind. She was going to save the crazy for later.

.mahotsukia.

.for once, just let me be me.

She gave a snort of laughter, and her eyes turned to look the way that Datenshi had gone. Turning back to Aella, she made a face at her, to show that yes, he was always like that. Mahotsukia wagged her tail at Aella. She could understand her brother, but it didn't mean it made her love him. He was overbearing, dominating, and hateful. Mahotsukia was... well, She was dominating and hateful, but she wasn't overbearing and she knew when to be gentle and kind. she had a Good heart and a good attitude but sometimes, it just got so annoying that no one would listen to her. So what if she wouldn't talk? The others should just learn to read. It isn't that hard to do, honestly. Datenshi learned how. She smiled at Aella. Maybe she could teach her how to read eyes. Her black banner waved a bit as those silver red eyes watched her. Yes, yes she probably could.... with some work and patience, anything was possible.
