Shasta Wild & Others
Shasta walked a few feet from the edge of the canyon. Her boots sank deep into the snow, crunching the thin layer of ice on the surface. She stared off into the distance as if she was deep in thought.
She wasn't alone. Not only did her dog follow her, but also her enemies. Jesse, Rachel and Maria weren't far behind. They hid behind whatever foliage they could find in the dead of winter. They saw a chance and took it. The trio ran out of the timberline and cornered Shasta against the edge of the canyon. "You have nowhere to go, Shasta, besides down." Jesse said, raising his rifle. "You have no choice but to come with us."
Shasta looked at the others with an angry expression on her face. "For years you have been trying to catch me and keep me in your grasp. I would think that you would know by now that I don't want to be caught and will do anything to avoid being your captive." She said bluntly and boldly. "I do have another way out. Maybe you'll learn by your mistakes." A deadly grin spread across her face and she turned around, taking a leap down into the canyon.
Rachel was about to run to the canyon's edge, but Jesse stopped her. "She is not our problem anymore if she is dead." He stated, turning around and walking away. Rachel and Maria followed.
Mouse whined and raced off, looking for help for Shasta.
Shasta thought she would die. She collided with a surface at a high speed. Surprisingly, she was still alive, but unconscious. The surface she had hit was Atka, a spirit bear. The bear awoke, startled, and looked at the woman. She had no intentions of hurting Shasta, as she didn't appear to be a threat. Instead, she grabbed Shasta's shoulder and dragged her away carefully.
