As she awoke, it was slow. Painfully slow. She sat up slowly, pain a constant in her movements. He wasn't there. Relief flooded through her, and she began to stand but a growl halted her. Zypher was there, standing so still and not more then two feet from her. She sank back down the wall, her eyes on the opening. In her condition, she couldn't make it. She knew it. She looked into his eyes, and saw that he knew it to. Go. No movement. No sound. She began to stand again, but was halted as he let loose a loud bark and snarl, coming closer to her. She sank back down the wall. Your killing me, buddy. She murmered. Zypher gave no indication of caring whether or not she was alive. In all honesty. Who did care?
Noon crept up and the sun sat straight up in the sky. Footsteps could be heard through the brush as the man came back hauling a load. From the top of the cave entrance dropped a rather large sheep. It's gaping neck snapped around as it hit the ground, followed by Siren. His attire had change since the night before. Old clothes secured under an arm.
He wore a white T-shirt with pale-brown pants. His arms and legs looked like that of a dalmation. Bullet wounds covered his limbs, no more than five inches apart were the farthest seperated ones. Some were perfect circles, others were long line looking burns, others looked like stabs or cuts, some where slits. Old scars looked un attended, while fresher looking scars had been sewn. There was one on his leg that held a stitch, and two on his left arm that were stitched up as well. Around his wrists were red wristbands, matching the color of his head band.
He reached down and grabbed the leg of the sheep, dragging it in and glaring over his shoulder at something. "Go away." He growled, a canine growling came in return as a white beast looked down at the mouth of the cave. Siren shook his head then walked into the cave. Sparing a simple glance to the girl as he sat on his rock and began to skin the animal. Remove the head, Remove the feet, cut down the middle. He continued until meat was seperated from skin and guts. Then tied the meat up with deer hide string and hung it from a tree root at the ceiling so that the wolves, nor dirt, could get to it easily.
With the hide, he brought out a tanning bed from his pack. And stretched the skin. The organs he put in a pan and began to fry it over the fire. The intestines were set aside onto a wooden cutting board, too high for the wolves to get to.
When organs were done, he poured a sauce on them and put them in two plates. The heart, lungs, and others, were put on the plates, while liver and tongue and kidney where placed into a third plate. The plates with heart and lungs were put onto the ground for the wolves. They had nothing but a bloody sauce to go with them. The other had sault and pepper, and a few other spices, added to it before being cut unto squares.
Siren retrieved a cup and put about a quarter of his meal into it and placed it down near Hunter. "Ran out of plates..." He said as he took to his meal. Never giving the meat above a second glance.
As the food was served, a white beast emerged from around the entrance of the cave. He looked in with dull brown eyes and growled. Moving toward the bushes on the other side, then back again. Sitting down and watching. The food was tempting, ever so tempting, but he would not budge.
Silence. Back to silence. She went to move back, further into the darkness of the cave but was halted once more by a snarl. Would you just go away! She exclaimed. Zyphers yellow eyes glowed in the darkness, and if the humans understood they would hear his laughter filling the chamber. Then silence. He looked at the once Crucified and stood, slowly. Oh so slowly. He drifted past Siren and Hunter, his banner high but waving a bit. Cruicified? He said softly. He could see a change in the males eyes, a difference and he didn't like it. Zyphers hackles began to raise.
Hunter watched the two closely then said to Siren as she held her cup Shouldn't you keep them apart or something? She kept watching the two, her silver blue eyes ever changing and soft. She picked at her food, now and again taking a bite but then she handed it back to Siren. I'm sorry....I'm not all that hungry I guess. Her voice was soft, hesitant. She had yet to understand his personality and it made her cautious and wary. The bullet wound in her arm was a constant dull ache and with every bite she chewed it felt as if someone was slamming a fist into her face. If only Samantha wasn't dead. She'd go after the bitch. She rested her head on the wall, weary once more but unwilling to show it. She just needed to...Sit here for awhile.
Crucified froze as he saw another wolf coming at him. His eyes grew wary and his hackles rose. It wasn't until that name, the inferior name rung once again in his head did he errupt into a furious growl. "DO NOT CALL ME BY THAT NAME" He gave a soft snort and lowered his head defensively. "My name is Hestier, You're precious Crucified is gone." His eyes flashed dangerously to Siren.
The man gave a quick glance to the growling brute and Zypher. "Nah" He answered and continued at his meal without a second thought. His eyes never looked to her, not even when she quit her eating. He was use to being quiet, by himself, he didn't have to respond to anyone if he didn't feel like it. That is how he raised himself.
Her eyes lifted to the males as a snarl erupted from Zypher. Shaking her head then wincing at that small movement, she curled into a small ball, her eyes half shut. He didn't want to speak then fine.
Zypher seemed to stand still after that eruptive snarl. Thats to bad. He was a good leader. Can't say the same for you. I see no band of followers for you like there was for Crucified. Taunting, mocking. Antagonizing. Then he backed away. Not backing down, never backing down but backing off. For now.
Okay, so her silence lasted a whole ten minutes. Curiousity finally won out. What do you want from me? You know I have no family, so there will be no ransom. I'll give you money if you want it, but by the looks of things you don't need it. So tell me what you want, because I...I need to go. People. She didn't like his prescence. She didn't like these dogs prescence, even if they hadn't done anything yet. Especially the giant wolf thing in the entry.
Hestier glared and growled through anger. "I so heard he had a pack! I went back with them once, I did not like them. I do not want to lead a group of followers, I do not want for others to adore me as he so much wanted them to adore him." He growled and looked up to Siren. His eyes held the male, then looked to Hunter. He gave no growl to either of the humans, instead he sat against the wall and watched them. Large white body thinning to his summer coat.
Siren did not turn his head, instead he finished up his plate and put it on the ground for either the wolves to lick up for for it to wait to be cleaned. Sitting back up he stretched then stood once again. "You witnessed my killings, it is not safe for you to leave now. If you do I must destroy you or you will turn me in. I did not know for sure that you did not have a family, it was but an educated guess. Now that you confess, I am relieved that no one will be looking for you. Admit it to me and to yourself. No one wants you in this world, so why do you want to be with the world so badly? Where is it that you want to go?" He said with a mono-tone. Testing her patience. He was really wanting to see how well she did with a gun. Should he torture her with the sniper gun? or let her use on of his smaller guns, maybe the SIG that he used to kill of her predators.
Yes- everything to Siren... is either predator or prey. Including the way humans interact. He is the ultimate predator... In his mind.
Her eyes seemed to flash at that, and her head snapped up. If I go to the cops they're going to wonder who I am. I tell them, I get my ass put back in the system. Now, lets look at it my way. You have no use for me. I'm just a burden. Just like those foster families. She said the last sentence with a sneer and kept quietly against the wall for a few moments. Can I have my knives back? At least just one? She didn't like having them on her. Guns....She loathed them. To loud, to impersonal. Knives you were up close, in your face and getting dirty. She loved it. Well....Sort of. I won't go to the cops, mon ami. Soft, flat. She knew it wouldn't get anywhere, had already known he wouldn't let her go.
Zypher just gave a smirk to Hestier. So why is it that you follow a human than? Oooh, taunting little bastard wasn't he.
Sirens eyes flashed and he gave off a slithering hiss. "Your way?" It was soft enough to speak over, but loud enough to hear. He grew agitated as she spoke of leaving. "I have told you, the wolves are the ones who wanted you alive. Your fate would have been the same as the others. You should be happy you are even alive." A wicked twist came to his face. "Though you are now trapped and will be nothing more than a pet to the rest of us. " Head elevated, nose slightly up in question then lowered as he dug through some cloth in the back of the cave. He picked up one of her knives, It had been cleaned and sharpened. His own obsession with blades was apparent as she would later find that each of her knives had been cleaned and sharpened.
He held the weapon tight in his hand, staring at it coldly, then again his smile came. "You have two choices. I give you the knife. And I'll shoot at you once... if you can deflect the bullet with the knife. I'll let you leave. Or, we can have a knife fight, The first with three cuts lose. If you win, you may leave. Take your pick. Because now I'm bored and 'nevermind' will not be an answer." He laughed. sneering at the end as he tossed her her knife. Guns could wait, blades were fun, they were close and personal. Dirty as well, but if you are out numbered, they are but a single tooth in the mouth of a fighting tiger.
Hestier watched the humans as they communicated, watching their body language before slowly turning his attention back to Zypher. "I could ask you the same question. I am merely interested in his aura. He is not like other Humans. When I saw him slaughter a sheep in another humans property, I grew interested and followed him. Plus if you look up, there is a tasty meal above you." the white wolf smiled then continued his entertaining watch on the humans.
Her eyes flashed and for a moment uncertainty lied in those icy blue depths. She caught the knife as it was thrown at her, long practice and sheer instinct keeping it from hitting her. Unfortuantly, you have an unfair advantage. But she stood. She had to use the wall, and that small show of weakness was enough to aggravate her but she pushed off, her legs locking to keep her balanced. Now, it just wouldn't be fair to fight you now. Holding up her stitched right arm, she smiled. Then she held up her left, for the most part undamaged part. That is, until she moved her wrist. A sickening crunch was given, and she gave another of those twisted smiles that she was so good at giving. Unfortunatly, I didn't get out of daddys way fast enough. Something dark flickered in those eyes, something like...Hatred.
You fucking bitch, you will do as I say! Just treat him with silence, Hunter. He won't do anything. She thought to herself. Suddenly he was coming at her, and what was a girl of barely ten to do? She flinched as her father yelled at her, screamed at her. She turned to run, but suddenly her wrist was captured. SNAP. Oh, not good. Her only thought as a fiery pain swept up her arm and coursed down her body. She screamed, screamed as he shoved her into a dark room.....
She blinked and that dark room and those hands on her body were gone. A dark smile was given to Siren. When one has to set ones own bones back in place, things tend to go....Awry. She twisted her wrist and another sickening crunch was given as the bones slipped back into place. A knife fight it is. If I win, I leave without being harmed. At all. A pointed look was given to the dogs. If you win....I stay. I cannot leave for extended periods of time, but I do get some time to...Breathe, so to speak. I don't like being held back. I will do as you say, and will not ask again for your permission to leave. Her eyes drifted to the hybrids once more. And they are not allowed to attack in the fight. Cheating. I do so hate cheaters. Her voice held an edge to it, but her body and voice spoke of a child stolen of her innocence, but knowing very well how to work that angelic face of hers to get what she wanted. To bad this man didn't back down.
Zypher gave a harsh smile. I get fed without having to hunt. I do not worry about him attacking me unless I do wrong. His eyes drifted to the girl, and softly he asked And what of her? Does she interest you as she does me? She acts not like he, but not like most humans. Most humans in pain just.... Give up. Shes still going though. What do you think of that, Brother?
Siren listened, unflinching, to the sound of her misplaced bones. He had limbs pulled from their sockets, as well as broken bones, but he always seemed to get them in the places easiest to fix. Fractures were tended by rest until the pain went away. Breaks were reset and casted with make-shift holds. Usually tree leaves and sticks or other animal bones and hide.
As she began to explain his end of the bargin his eye grew sour and cold. Disagreeing silently through stares. When she spoke of cheating he chuckled darkly under his breath. "There is no such thing as cheating, it is simple strategy. It is cheap strategy, but intellectually prepared all the same." Yellow orbs narrowed onto her eyes. He seemed empty, as if looking into a hollow shell. A puppet; you could say.
With his left hand he reached inside the lip of his pants. Fingering the rim of the clothing until his hand was just behind his lower left back. He lifted up and the a snap was heard from the clip of the blade. Bringing it forward he held it tight, letting the light flash off its wicked end. The blade was spotless. It was unnoticable that he had killed over five people with it so far. And it was his favorite for it was able to pull out some gut as well.
He spun it in his left hand for a moment, then took his balance to take an attack. "I'm right handed, human. But don't think I'll go easy because of your imparments, you've lived this long. And don't worry, the pups wont lay a nail on ya." He growled, hand clenching over the blade.
Her eyes flashed, and she moved forward. Her legs felt weak, but an iron will and a ram rod straight back kept her from falling. And the same goes for you, puppet. She murmered. Her movements were like fluid, and she appeared as if she had not a problem with her body. There was no weakness. A man like Siren held no physical weakness. Mental, maybe, but not physical. She wanted to draw him out, for him to make the first move. She never made the first move, she was excellent with her defensive movements, but her offense was never that strong. She didn't like hurting others, and there in lied her weakness.
A look of lust came to his eyes, but not one for a female. This was the lust for blood, the cruel cruse he had been punished with after his first few tastes of the crimson liquid. Oh how he desired to watch it, it wasn't just a game, it wasn't just for enjoyment, it was an obsession of his. To hurt and be hurt. Addicted... addicted to adrenaline.
He fidgeted under a beating heart. One ready to jump from its hold. "You hesitate?" He growled then eyes flinched and he smirked. "Awe, I see, your the type to wait until the opponent attacks first." She has good game plan. Siren normally wasn't the one to attack first either in a head to head combat, but for different reasons. He liked to study another's moves before they had a chance to study him.
He held still, body calm as if but a shell perched inside the cave. His eyes glowering before his hand gave a slight twitch. With that he stared at her, eye to eye, then pushed off the ground and came at her, arm back, ready to slice her down the middle. But just as he came to close he pushed back to avoid any counter she would throw. Arm thrusting up to slice her under arm and her left collar bone.
He expected all to well to receive a slice or two of his own, but even in his haste to cut, he leaned back and down and jumped away once his trial failed or hit.
Hestier sat in silence, ignoring the statement of the other wolf. He didn't know him, but oh how his smell was familiar. He couldn't shake the thought that he really did know this wolf from somewhere, but he had to keep quiet about it. He wasn't going to ask about the background of Crucified. For he was no longer Crucified but the almighty, never-to-die Hestier.
Her eyes were on his, and she mirrored his movements. That is, until he struck. She leapt nimbly side ways, but forgetting her injuries cost her. When she leapt, she landed on an uneven rock. She nearly lost her footing, but stayed upright with a hiss. She felt a slice across her collar bone, and a low growl of anger escaped her lips. She didn't like this, not at all. She held her knife loosely, uncommon for most it was. She couldn't hold it any other way. Blood was sliding down her chest and stomach, and a seductive smile crossed her lips as she stepped towards Siren. She watched his fever bright eyes, and lifted a hand to the wound. She held up her blood stained fingers, and slowly licked it off. Nice. She murmered softly. The only warning he had next was her hand dropping, and her eyes never leaving his. She came forward, her knife quick but her other hand was there as well, moving to block his blade and slice him across his stomach. She leapt back again, keeping her balance but this was costing her energy. Energy she desperatly needed.
His eyes stayed on her but continually strayed to see her next move, then caught the subtle twitch of her arm and as she came forth his weight shifted. Quickly his foot came up and aimed for her stomach, not as a kick but as a block. His blade made no motion to strike as her arm came up to block and the other to strike. As she sliced he gave a forceful shove with his foot. Letting her catch herself and then he laughed. Taking the bottom of his shirt and pulling it straight, there was a tear in it about eight inches long. "Cut the skin not the clothing." he informed. Now waiting for a second attack.
