Bane

How boring... life had been so slow recently. No battles, no bloodshed, nothing out of the ordinary.

And everyone in the pack had vanished. Gone, as though they'd fallen off the face of the earth. Oh, he wasn't worried. No, he did not possess the capacity to care for another's safety. But being alone was boring.

With a sigh, Bane flopped down near the edge of the Canyon, looking down into its depths as he used a deft paw to nudge a pebble over the edge. His eyes followed it down, out of sight, and he sighed again, speaking aloud on a breath. I wish SOMETHING would happen.

Fyre

With his parents dead and his brother assumed gone as well, Fyre had found little comfort to ease his troubled mind. Anger built up in him as they days passed, and fell back more and more on the stories that he had been told by his dad and Nightcrawler. Of his grandma, who's dark eyes he carried. The wolf that, at one time, humans had feared the most.

The yearling left the Ochotona Mountains for the time, having made up his mind that he would avenge his slain family, and restore his grandmother's name. The only thing was... he had never killed a human before. Nightcrawler and Kanan had told him horror stories about the two leggers, and Fyre wasn't sure how he'd start his 'reign of terror'. He knew Night would put a stop to his ways if he found out what little Fyre was up to, so he had to seek help from someone that didn't live in the pack.

Brooding on these thoughts, the black-pelted wolf made his way along the Canyon, traveling west from his home range. As he pondered the possibilities of his future human-killings, the young wolf chanced upon a rather bored looking fellow. For a long moment, Fyre stood there and watched Bane, debating whether he should actually go up to a stranger and ask such a thing... but what's the worse that would happen...?

Taking a deep breath and plucking up his confidence, Fyre strode forth with a look of purpose. "Hey.

Bane

An unfamiliar voice roused Bane from his reverie, and he looked up at Fyre. With a vague air of superiority, he rose, both his brown eyes weighing the brute. Finally, he nodded, seeming to make up his mind about something, and spoke, his voice soft and dangerous. And what little mission of mischief brings a brute such as you out of the bushes? A cruel grin grew on his face, really seeming almost vulgar in appearance. Welcome to the Dark Side of Wolfdom.

Fyre

Fyre kept himself raised up, even if he was shorter in stature at his younger age, "I was just heading to kill some humans." Came his casual reply, as if he had done this sort of thing countless times before. "It gets boring on your own after a while..." He went on, trying to sound a confident and assured as he could, "...I was thinking someone like you might be interested in having a bit of fun?" Despite his calm demeanor, Fyre couldn't deny a certain chill that tingled along his spine at the cruel darkness that seemed to radiate from this particular brute.

Bane

Fyre's words pleased him, and his smirk grew, voice tainted with a bit of dark laughter as he spoke. Aye, your thought is accurate. I have always enjoyed my... exercise. And his tone twisted that one word into something that spoke of blood and bone, of pain and torture.

The very thought made his smile broader, for he saw right through Fyre's act, though he spoke nothing of it. He mentally shook his head to himself, thinking how young this brute was. Could he really be prepared for such a dark life as he was about to embrace? Well, he'd see.

Fyre

Unknowing that Bane could see past the faux-confidence, Fyre continued with his act, "Good, that'll make things more... interesting. So uh, where's your favorite place to kill?" Oh geeze, how he hoped Bane would offer a place to go so he didn't have to make one up himself. He had been to the human town once, but even that was just around the outskirts.

Bane

Should he? Expose this fellow for the coward he was? No, no. This was too much fun, toying with him this way. So he smoothly answered Fyre's question, pretending not to know that Fyre did not know where to go to kill humans. I'm fond of the back alleys of the human lands, myself. There's always some worthless peice of flesh just laying around back there, waiting to be pushed off of the plain of life.

And with that, he turned to trot away, stopping only for a moment to turn and favor Fyre with his coldest grin. Coming?

Fyre

"Yeah, that's one of my favorite places too." Fyre pointed out in a matter-of-fact tone, while committing the name to memory. Excitement was beginning to build up in him so much that his tail almost began to wag. But thinking it would convey the wrong message, Fyre controlled himself and hurried after Bane, "Yeah, I'm coming."
