She looked so sad. She was still, so very still. Her eyes were emotionless, flat and deceiving. This was Natalya. Tears filled Enolas eyes. But She wasn't Natalya. She had changed for him. Changed everything. Who she was, her name. Her family, her friends. Now she was nothing, and no one. The world knew not of Natalya, but it spoke all the time about Enola. She closed her eyes against that. I'm just a nobody.
All because of him. Crucified turned Hestier. Anger welled up inside of her, to the point she just wanted to kill something. But then it was under control. She was his...Guardian? His friend? His lover? She didn't know, nor did she care. She was a mere pawn to him. Sometimes she just wanted to beat him with a stick, for he was not the same wolf that she had once loved with all her heart. Now he was someone else, someone different. Not hers. He had never been hers.
A scent that shook him to the bone came to his nose. Who was it, why was it so familiar. Male, it was a male wolf. Unknown to him Faute was in the land. But even if he saw the wolf he would not remember. Instead he followed closely behind Natalya. Picking through branches as he continued to follow her scent.
He found her, resting at the end of a cliff. His eyes narrowed. Something burned inside of him. Why did he feel angry and sad at once? Tears welped up in his own eyes but were quickly shaken away. He looked to the ground. "Wh-what was that?" He asked under his breath, growling deeply at the strange feeling. As if something were alive within him. But it did not have control, not, it was he who was in control. Hestier.
His eyes traveled up to meet Natalya, "Why so glum?" He dared not read her features, he tried to act as if he cared. Something inside him demanded that he should care but the emotion had since been erased.
She heard him coming, it was hard not to know where he was at all times. When he spoke, both agony and anger welled up within her. She turned to him, her eyes glittering with tears Why do you even pretend to care? Then she turned away, standing with as much pride as she could. She walked to the very edge of the canyon, her eyes looking below. She remembered how she had once wished to fly, fly fly away so high. You don't even try to remember, Crucified. No, your not Crucified anymore. Your Hestier. One that never was. You just live in Crucifieds body. Do you recognize that scent of another, Hestier? His name is Faute, or you knew him as Belial. Do you not recognize me, Hestier? I'm Enola. Not Natalya, for Natalya is just like Hestier. Shes a never was and a never will be. She was trying to make it all click, make it all fit. When your mate left you for dead, I WAS THERE TO SEE YOU THROUGH! NOW I'M STILL HERE BUT I'M NOT! The last part was shouted, trying to release her anger and frustration at him. She turned back to him. I'm not here, because of you. Because of you, I'm Natalya. Nothing more. Nothing less. Thats why I'm so glum, Hestier.
His eyes fidgeted a moment as she screamed at him. His frustration began to rise as she let out her anger. He could not stand it. There was no point in remembering when there was nothing for him to remember! "Do not scream at me girl! You know not of who I am but a name. That is all I am to you and to this world. That of a name and nothing more! Crucified is not longer a live. I may be a look alike, maybe switched somewhere in your petty story. Maybe he is out there, maybe he is dead BUT HE IS NOT ME!" He snarled savagely. "I know not of this Faute, nor of his Belial. I know only the Enola who claimed she had saved my life. If was you who wished to change your name. Crucified's memories are not in me but lie else where. Seek there! You yell at me for something that can not be helped as if I were a god that could come upon this world and rid me of this illness. But neigh, I no longer want to be rid of this. I like this, this power, this life, and as soon as that is gone. As soon as Crucified returns I WILL FOREVER BE GONE! I will have died, but you will not see my death, no you will not know of the pain of my dieing, for it will be instant and invisible. And you wish for that. YOU WISH MY DEMISE!" He hollored then grew terribly quiet... a menacing growl upon his lips.
"Well, what if I took your Beloved Crucified with me? To throw his body, and my soul, from t his cliff. Would that make you happy?! Would you be happier knowing neither of us will ever return!" He looked at her, eye to eye. Soul boaring deep into her own. "Would that make you happy?" He snarled, body trembling in anger.
Something changed in those eyes of her. Something for the worse. The agony became unbearable, and in a soft voice she whispered Don't even bother, Hestier. I won't bother you anymore. She turned and was about to walk away when she turned back to him, her amber eyes filled with tears and the pain of a thousand others. One day you'll come to realize you've made a mistake. When that day comes, I'll be long...Long gone. I hope you realize, Hestier, that I love you. I always have, and always will. Then she turned and began to walk away. Her steps grew quicker with each new one, until she seemed to be flying across the Earth, tears in her eyes and sobs escaping her. Now where would she go?
Hestier growled dangerously as the femme moved away. He needed her not, he never needed her. But what was this feeling inside of him that burned through his being and his soul. Gah! he threw his head from side to side as he shook away the pain of guilt and empty death. He knew not this wolfess of more than what she had told him. It was lies! ALL LIES!
He smiled psychotically as he came to this conclusion. Crucified was not a rival, the rival of this Hestier. Enola was nothing but a pawn to Hestier but this Crucified would have thought else. "What is it Crucified, Hah! What is it that you long for. You are never coming back, I will not let you come back! You will die along with me as a forgotten name!" He howled in demands to the world. Give him what he wants. He moved out now, toward the city of the humans. Growling deep inside his throat.
