The man had already set up camp in the area. For he never stayed in one place to long. Behind him he toated a muzzled wolf, well, you could call him muzzled for he was unable to bite. He jerked the wolf for where he faultered or refused to continue walking. Like a criminal he was pulled behind with no slack in his rope, no slack to let him free. The wolfs spirit could not die but he was determined to retrain him into an ally fighter. The wolf just didn't know it yet.
Soon Siren came near a steep cliff and took out his dragon blade, stabbed it into the wall and flung himself down onto a ledge ten feet below. It petruded only 5 feet worth of porch, 8 feet wide and tappering at the ends. There it led into a cave about 15 feet deep and 7 feet hight. Siren had already aranged the area with a sitting bolder and a fire pit. As he got down he looked up at the wolf who was at te other end of the rope. He tugged a few times to lead the wolf down. If the wolf did not follow willingly, he would be tugged and possibly fall. He would have at least 6 feet to jump.
He tried fighting, but only once and that was for a fleeting moment. A Desperate attempt to flee. As they came to the canyon, he once more halted, and tugged thinking Siren was going to throw him over the edge. Then, Siren himself jumped. The canine came forward, muzzle still attached and a look of anger in his dark eyes. Just below him, was Siren. He curled his bloody lips back into a snarl, and jumped down aiming for Siren to knock him down.
If Siren moved, he would land lightly on his feet. If not, Faute would just leap back and away from Siren but make no move to escape. He still had the muzzle on, and he was no fool. It was just one of those things, where he wanted to show the human he may be caught but he was not beaten. The male walked silently to the cave, sulking a bit. Pouting, really but it was sulking to him for males do not pout. He waited for Siren next move.
As the wolf lept at him, his eyes lit in amusement and he swung his arm over to knock to wolf off course. Whether Faute caught himself or not was not Siren's problem. After the lupine was lead into the cave Siren fastened the rope to a four inch thick root that petruded from the wall. He walked over to a pack and removed a vile of clear liquid. Along with it was a saringe (I hope I spelt that right) He inserted the liquid and walked over to the wolf. with the serenge now full of the liquid. Removed the plastic over the new needle and placed it down. Slowly reaching over he pushed away the wolfs muzzle with one hand while the other went for the pressure point behind the ears. Gripping tightly he pushed the wolf down.
Through struggle or not, and if he gets the wolfs head to the ground. He sits on the wolf with one leg over his face and pressing down while the other is over the first half of his body. With his force he holds down the wolf's head so that it cannot move no matter how hard her tries. Takes the needle and injects the liquid. It is just as much as he gives himself when he sows himself up after a wound.
The chemical would freeze the entire upper jaw of the wolf. He would feel no pain but an absent feeling instead so that Siren could go to work at removing the dagger. He got off the wolf and sat on his rock, waiting for the numbing liquid to take effect.
As he was tied, Faute began to pace at the end of his tether, pulling and pulling on it, trying to snap the blasted thing. Then, Siren was coming back. Faute had only a moment to take a step when the man was ontop of him. He snarled and roared, foreign to the touch of man, when the injection was put into place. He couldn't move, not with Siren on top but then he was off. Quickly, and with fluidity and grace, the male stood and began pacing at his tether once more. Then...It happened.
His jaw was going numb. He kept snapping his teeth, taking comfort in the click as he heard it but then he couldn't feel it and would chomp again. No pain. A soft growl of confusion escaped him, but it ended in a whimper so soft it was hard to hear unless you were close to him. His eyes lifted to Sirens, and there was still that rage there, but with it was confusion and pain.
He smirked as the wolfs confusion became appearant, He waited just a little longer for the full effects to kick in before again he made his way to the wolf. Placing his less dominant hand on the wolfs muzzle he waited for the further confusion of the now more strangeness of his hand to set in. There would be no warms, just pressure to the wolf. No texture, nothing soft or rough. With that he sat next to the beast. The muzzle still tight, slowly he began to wiggle the blade until it moved just slightly in its flesh sheath. Pressing the blunt end back he firmly began to withdraw the knife. With every move Faute made to pull back, his hand tightened. Punishment. When the wolf did not pull he let it stay a firm grip. Reward. Slowly pulling out the knife so that it would not chip fragments of bone off. If Faute were to jerk his head. His hand would tighten to cease all ways of getting air and let go of the knife. Though it hurt the wolf not, just felt funny. He would repeat until the knife was slowly drawn out. Leaving the string muzzle on even after he set the blade in a small puddle to clense.
He walked to his pack and got a bandage wrap. 4 inches.... no, he put it back and withdrew the three inch thick four foot long wrap and brought it to the wolf along with a cream ointment. Grabbing the wolf again by the front of his snout, he took the cream and smoothed it over the wound. leaving a layer about the width of a nickle and then starting at the front, just half an inch behind his nose, Siren began to wrap the bandage. Pushing back the string as he made his way to the wound. Once the wound was covered he made a second go then untied the string and replaced it with the end of the bandage. Leaving the whole muzzle wrapped. He fastened it with Three safety pins, you know, just in case.
And where did the string go? He pushed together Fautes front feet and tied them so the wolf could not paw at the bandages. Backing away he watched to see if he should add one more ingrediant to this unholy concoction.
As Siren came forward, he leapt back with a growl but once more he couldn't go anywhere. Damn rope. As Sirens hand was placed upon him, he tried to take a step back but the grip turned harder and he stayed put. No sense in causing more pain, right? As the knife was drawn out, he glared at the hated thing. Then he was tied. Always tied, dammit. He'd show Siren. He tucked his head, so that the top of his skull was shown to Siren and pushed up on his legs. He did this repeatedly, and with each hard rub the bandage began to unravel. No, he was no stupid. He'd find a way to get it off.
The man sighed but left it alone. "Fine, I'll just re-wrap it when you get weak with blood loss." He said as he rose to get four logs from the back and brought them near the front. Throwing them in the pit he poured a little alcohol and lit a match to create the small camp fire. Moving to the outershell of the cave he looked around and spotted what he wanted. A fawn down below grazing with the heard in the afternoon sun. Pulling out his gun he aimed and shot. The loud crack cried across the sky and Siren moved down to skid along the wall.
Moments later his hands came back up and he hauled himself to even land with an even thicker rope in his mouth. As he gained footing he pulled up on the rope to reveal a young dear. Not even old enough to lose its spots. It weighed 45 pounds tops and was bleeding from a whole directly centered in its skull. It didn't even have a chance to move.
Siren brought it in, Skinned it then set the hide on a tanning rack ourside. He tore off it's shoulder muscle and stick it on a stick next to the fire. Repeating this with its other shoulder and hind thigh meat. As they cooked he began to tear off small bit of the neck and ribs and put them on a clay bowl, Setting them near the fire to stay warm until the wolf settled down. The food was to far from reach for the beast.
Food. He made an attempt to stand as the fawn was brought in, but haha his hands were tied. Faute growled low, and managed a sitting position but he was not about to make a fool of himself trying to walk. For the most part, the bandage was still in place for Siren had brought in the deer at the right moment. That, and when the gun went off he had halted and his eyes had slightly widened. He wasn't exactly a fan of loud noises of any sort, and he let out an uneasy growl when he heard it. He made an attempt at getting the food with his eyes. Fever bright they were, and he licked his lips his tail thumping once as he stared hard at the deer.
Siren cooked the meat till it was brown on the edges then began to munch on it. Looking at the wolf as he begged for the food in his quiet little way. "Hah, and now you behave huh? You're gonna wait till that numbing syrum has warn off or your food will taste funny. Plus that ointment needs to settle a little longer." With that he continued. The plate full of scraps for the wolf sitting out of reach and calling his name. "You need a name now don't you wolfie. How about Zypher? I think that fits. Zephyr is a quiet wind, when I'm through training you, you will be just as silent but as deadly as a hurricane. What do you say to that?" In one ear and out the other is probably what the wolf thought as the food stayed in tempting view. It was only after Siren finished his meal did he shorten the slack for Faute, Giving him but 3 feet to move. Slowly he unraveled the bandage and stepped back.
By now the numbness would be somewhat gone and feeling back into his face. The wound probably burned so he moved over and got yet another saringe.. this time a different vile came with it. Filling it then removing the plastic from the needle, he walked over slowly to the wolf. He stayed out of reach to see if the wolf would submit in any way or attack.
The words of Faute had hit a nerve with the prideful brother, but he wouldn't let his grand ego be deflated. While Faute toiled with Siren, Atticus had drifted a ways into the shadow and sat down to watch the little game. Though hidden by the human's contraption, a dark smirk had lit the hybrid's muzzle when Faute was eventually subdued and hauled out of the human town.
Atticus trailed the pair all the way to the Canyon, and laid there in the shadows once more as he watched what went on. As devious and cruel as his nature seemed to be, he prepared to step in if it looked like Faute's life was going to be ended. Until then, he enjoyed himself in watching the scenes play out before him. And when enough was enough, Atticus stepped foward to get the last word, "So, what was that about me being so foolish around the humans?"
Cold golden eyes turned to Siren next as his nose twitched. The meat, oh how tempting it was... so close, yet so very far away. Yet, with or without Siren Hou around, Atticus could eat nothing with the blasted muzzle on. However, he wasn't going to let a good opportunity just slip by him. With a faint growl, the larger brother sat down next to Faute as his eyes locked unblinkingly onto Siren.
At Sirens words, he dropped his head and raised it, his ears up trying to look appeasing and...Well, as gentle as he could manage. Thats when Atticus came rolling in. Fangs were suddenly revealed, and a roar escaped him at his brothers words. He coiled his hind legs beneath him, wanting to spring and attack but the rope around his neck and legs halted him. No, he would not make a fool of himself. Look whose talking. He said between clenched teeth. Calm. He had to be....Calm. He trembled with fury, but he made no further sound. When Atticus sat next to the newly named Zypher, he raised his head with pride but said nothing.
The white haired male looked upon the wolf as he bobbed his head. It wasn't until Atticus arrived that Siren put the plastic back onto the needle. "If the pain starts to bother you to much, let me know and I'll give it a pain killer." He said then moved over to the food and lifted it up. Bringing it over to Zypher and lowering himself to be level with the wolf. Faute would not be able to bite him, not at his distance. But he put the plate down and slid it to him. The scraps weighed about five pounds. Nothing a normal wolf would eat. But it was all he had for now, and unlike packs, Zypher would eat every night.
Now eerie yellow eyes turned to Atticus, "And how about we call this one Voa. Kind of like the a venomous Boa, hehe, A Viper Boa mix we can say. Now mutt, looks like you are a bit hungry as well." By now the man had sat upon a his rock just feet from the fire. His dragon dagger in his hands as he began to gently clense the blade. "If you come here I can take it off for you." He said, leaning over and grabbing a scrap of meat and jiggling it a bit to temp the wolf. "What say you?"
Atticus gave his brother a long side-glance before training his haunting eyes on the equally cryptic orbs of the two-legger. By this point and time, the hybrid had come to understand some of the humans ways; but not much. What he knew at the moment was, only humans would be able to get this contraption off his muzzle. And his life depended on getting the stupid thing off.
A muffled growl echoed in the beast's throat, his ears planed threateningly to the side. Yet he came foward at the tempt of food and reprieve from the muzzle. Unsettling gaze fell on the blade Siren carried, but if that blade hadn't been used to kill Faute yet, Atticus trusted that it wouldn't be used against him, unless he forced it to be that way.
Hardly able to keep himself still, Atticus stood stiffly just within reach of Siren, not for one second taking his eyes from the other. "You try anything with me, human, it'll be your last move..." Words played out in his snarls, if only to mend his bruised ego. If Faute had been taken down, Atticus knew he was no match in the poorly state that he was in right now.
He stared at Atticus, not showing humor in the demands that were followed. His expression remained neutral as the wolf approached with the muzzle on. Setting down the blade, as well as the food, Siren reached over slowly and began to finger the contraption for the buckle to take off. He worked around until he all was undone and slid the muzzle off and dropped it on the ground behind him. Leaving the meat just below Atticus' head.
As well, he grabbed about three more pounds of food and dropped it in front of the wolf to let him have a days portion. "Don't get caught in those things again, I may not be there to take it off next time." He said coldly, taking a char-ended stick from its rest against the wall to prod the logs in the fire. "How about we go for a walk when you two are done. Twilight and the first hours of night are the best to get into trouble with." He smirked, but just as quickly as the expression came, it left with just a cold imprint.
ATTACK! Bite him! KILL the human! Instinct and deep-seeded agression screamed in the hybrid's mind, urging him to take out this human when his bondages were finally removed. And he would have tried too... but for some reason Atticus just stood there. Staring, unblinking, as he watched Siren. Atticus was no studier of the human race, but there was something distinctly different about this fellow. He conveyed power, and an undeniable sinister presence.
Atticus didn't know why he wasn't trying to sink his teeth in the man's flesh, or why he was suddenly so intruiged by this two-legger. The snarling began to subside until it died away all together. His hackles remained up and his body tense, but he dipped his head and began to eat the meat.
When he had finished, Atticus laid down a few yards from Faute, head on paws and eyes still trained on Siren.
Faute was still, so very still. At the sounds the human made, his tail wagged but only once and then he seemed a statue once more, those unblinking eyes on Siren. He appeared harmless, until you looked deeper. You could see the power all coiled nicely inside just ready to spring open at an unsuspecting moment. Walk. He had heard this word before, and it meant they were going somewhere. Faute pricked his ears, his eyes lighting up. Something fun to do? Yes...Very fun. He was ready, and he was ready now.
Yellow eyes glanced at the two with a deadly manner as they seemed to watch his every move. His lips twitched, but nothing more as he rose up and grabbed his blade. He pressed on the back lower part of the handle, and the blade twitched with a joint. Gently he closed the blade and shoved it back up into his jacket sleeve. The yellow blade was placed into the other sleeve as well, with his movements it looked as though her were scratching an arm, but he was attaching them in the inside to a sort of holder. One that would release the blade with the right velocity of shake.
Walking up, he stared both wolves in the eyes as if to tell them he was no weakling. He untied Faute, looking at Atticus and tossing his head. "Come Zypher, Voa." But his words were not more than that. Again he was to set his own trek.
Faute's rope no longer choked him when he walked. If he were to pull back it would just pull him. Siren had to teach these wolves there was more to him than what they thought all humans were. He was a human killer, they had wronged him, and he would right them.
Moving out of the cave he got to the ledge and slid down onto a pathway six feet below. He brought up his knife this time, a sign he would not tolerate a second attempt. "You jump around boy." He growled. Waiting for the duo to come down with him. Then he moved off and down the path to another path that would lead to another path, that would lead to another path, that would eventually lead to the city.
