Sierra, a bat, fluttered through the dark, making small chirping noises. She circled around and went back from where she came and gripped a tree branch. "All clear." She said to Arizona.
The ringtail nodded and raced through the grass. Her thick, bushy tail trailed along, giving away her location. "So, do you really think other animals even live here?" She asked, looking around with her huge eyes.
Sierra nodded. "I already told you that I saw a wolf a little ways away. Not that we want to meet a wolf..." She replied.
"He'd probably eat us." Added Arizona, waving her tail. She stood on top of a rock, keeping an eye out for danger.
Sierra fluttered around, chasing gnats and mosquitoes.
The fae had gone to wandering the canyon again, not wanting to go back to the territory. Truth be told, she was fearful of her mother. But she wasn't ready to go back yet.
Turning a corner, her eyes suddenly landed on a couple of animals. Strange looking beings, but nothing to be frightened of. Time for questioning, if they'de even stick around for it. Stepping up to them, yet keeping her sense of distance, she gave a light bark. "Hello?" she asked, her stomach not hungry at the moment. Although it was growling, her brain said otherwise.
Arizona startled at the sight of a carnivore bigger than her, but she plucked up and opened her mouth to speak. "Hi right back to you." She said. "Who're you? I'm Arizona."
Sierra landed on the rock, gripping it with her feet and claws. "Um...Hi." She said shyly.
Esprit stood there, breathing lightly, but otherwise silent. She made no motions, her face was almost emotionless. Except for when she suddenly gave a small grin, though it had to be more forced than anything. If only...
"I'm Esprit," she replied, her auds flickering. She felt like saying 'I'm not hungry' or something like that, but held it back. No need to rise any suspicion. "What are you two?" she then went to asking, curious of them. She had never seen such creatures around here before.
Arizona crept closer cautiously. "I'm a ringtail and Sierra's a bat." She informed, flicking her tail. "It's good to meet you, Espirit." She felt slightly intimidated by the wolf, but she didn't show it.
Sierra climbed onto the top of her rock and chirped. "I have never seen a dog so white as you. Where do you come from?" She asked. Never in her life had she come across a wolf.
Esprit watched the two, in her casual manner. She didn't realize any feeling of intimidating someone, she was simply what she was. Maybe if she was in a lighter mood, but she was feeling rather down at the moment. "Same," she stated casually with a nod, before looking to the bat. "I'm a wolf. I was born and grew up here," she then stated, and gave her head a slight tilt. Already she was beginning to forget about her mother. "Where do ones such as yourselves venture from?" she then asked, curious of this strange pair.
Arizona stood up on her hind legs, using her tail for balance. "I don't think I have ever seen a wolf before. Are they all as beautiful as yourself?" She asked, gesturing for Sierra to come closer. "We come from Arizona, way over there."
Sierra flew to where the two were standing. Once she landed, she pointed to where they had come from. "It's really far. It must be nearly impossible to get from there to here without the aid of humans." She added.
