The canyon. It was so beautiful, even to her eyes. Her movements were quick, gentle and light. The delta of the Shadow Lurkers pack had made her way from the alleys to the Canyon needing time to herself. Time to think. The rather large hybrid came to the edge of the canyon wall, halting there and laying down to stare out into the wide open. It was so breath taking, so alluring. She needed to make more trips here. A bird cawed above her and a soft smile crossed her lips. It was rare to see her smile. She was a fighter through and through. Always had been, always would be. A soft sigh escaped her. Nothing seemed to go right these days. Sequioas eyes drifted, and she never let herself relax. There was always someone out to kill her or her pack, neither she would allow. Pups, so many of them. They were beginning to over run the Den. A soft smile crossed her dark lips once more. She wanted pups, oh how she dearly wanted pups. But....Was a fighter made to have them? She was afraid, so afraid, that they would turn out like her. Guilt twisted in her stomach. She didn't want any others to be like her. She wanted peace in the valley, didn't everybody? It would make everything so much more simple. The sun was high above her and a soft sigh escaped her once more. The warm rays were melting the snow away, and that warmed her heart. She was certainly no snow dog. She slowly let herself relax, but always her ears were swiveling to make sure no one snuck up on her. If she died today, who cared? The pack would mourn, yes. Not for long, she had always stayed to herself. Sasha was the only one she was really close to, but ever since the doberman had taken up a mate, Sequioa had left her. She was guarded now, no need for her right? Right. She didn't know if she was telling herself that to reassure herself that she was right, or if she was saying it because she felt guilty for not talking to her friend. Maybe she'd do that when she got home. Talk to Sasha. Tell her she was sorry for being such a bitch to her. But for now, she was going to lay here and bask in the last rays of the sunlight.
Death will come to thee
Who dares mess with me
