Spirit

Free but alone, a young fae emitted from her vocals a sweet enchanting call that echoed not only in the canyon, but also in her heart. Her eyes, one gold and one that was sapphire blue. She groomed her sandy golden coat, and her blonde yellow chest was exposed. Her ears perked up, then silently she waited, laying calmly on a large boulder, basking in the sun.

Spirit

She had grown very hungry while she rested on the boulder. She knew that there were not many large prey to find up here, but perhaps she could find a rodent of some kind, maybe a rabbit? She waited also for a returning call, but decided to walk around, not leaving the imediate area.

*Pika*

A pika, a type of small rodent, was sitting inbetween two rocks many yards from Spirit. He was cleaning his fur and unaware that the wolf was nearby. He wouldn't make much of a meal but he could satisify a slight hunger.

A lone turkey vulture was perched on the branch of a tree a distance away from the wolf. The slight scent of death could be traced on the breeze, coming from where the vulture was.

Spirit

As she looked around in many crevices, she finnally spotted the Pika. Spirit very quietly clambered not more then 4 or 5 feet away and lept, trying to crush his head with her gigatic paw. She had spotted the turkey vulture before, and had been watching him very intently before...

*Pika & Vulture*

The pika had been too wrapped up in grooming himself to keep a good lookout for danger. By the time he noticed Spirit, she was in mid leap. He tried to scurry out of the way, but not quick enough. Her paws crushed his head, killing him instantly.

The vulture turned its sharp gaze towards Spirit, trying to see what she had caught. Only a pika. It told itself, knowing there wouldn't be any leftovers from the small meal. But he was full anyway.

Spirit

Spirit looked to the vulture, staring at it sharply. She then turned to her small prey and divoured it in less the 5 minutes. She returned to her perch and let out one more large howl. She soon lost her patience, and ran off toward the ranch.
