The Coyote led her three newborn Coy-Wolf pups out of the den. The first to come out was the only male, and the firstborn, Liekki. Next was Aurinka, the last born, and the runt of the litter. She was small and weak, but Tahti loved her pups all the same. She sat down with two of her pups and waited for the second born, Iota.
Iota was the smallest in size, but most plump comaired to her sister. All that could predict her future look was the black line that ran down her back. She was a pale brown at birth, but that would change when her puppy fur shed into what she would really become.
Aurinka stayed by her mother. She was less energetic than her siblings. "I'm cold..." She said, shivering.
Tahti hid Aurinka in her thick fur. She feared that the pups would not survive the winter.
Liekki was very energetic compared to his sisters, but he, too, eventually needed the warmth of his mother's fur.
"Come, now, pups. You must keep warm" Said Tahti.
Iota stayed in the cold, looking back at her mother and shivering a bit. She growled, refusing to give in to the stupid weather. A harsh wind blew its terror, sending shivering needles up the hybrids Spine. She whined then turned and huddled near her mother and siblings. Growling at her siblings to get out of her way for the warmest part in the bunch.
In the distance a figure was moving, heading towared Tahti. The gray female seemed to have silver threads of fur, gleaming in the winter light. Her orbs were hidden by her shadows. She held a powerful pose, but it seemed gentle enough.
As she neared Tahti she slowed her pace. Blue orbs looking up to the fea as she watched the pups huddle beneath their mothers pelt. "Oh you poor dears..." She whined softly and lowered her head in sorrow. Lifting it again. "Dear, why are you out here in the cold? Do you have no place warm to stay?" Her head was high, but her tail was low, showing she was dominant but ment no harm to the mothering coyote. Unknown to her these little pups were her half siblings.
Tahti shook her head. "This is the only place we have besides the puny den." She said. She was more protected from the cold than her pups, but she still shivered.
Liekki snapped at Iota. It was partly play, but partly to put her in her place. "I was here first." He growled.
Aurinka was freezing. She crawled directly under her mother, trying towarm up.
The devilish pup turned on her brother and snapped a little more harshly. Trying to get him to back off. "I don't care I'm cold and you're bigger than me!" She snarled then looked to Silver.
Silver shook her head "Tsk tsk" She played with her tongue then spoke as gently as she could. "My dear, come with me. I have a den for you and your pups, If allowed, I will help you all keep warm." She wagged a silver tail with delight. Then smirked. "By the way, I'm Silver. A leader of A Shadow Haunters Sub-Division. You are welcome to stay there if you wish." She waited kindly enough, the thought of her being a Shadow Haunter to some would seem odd. She wasn't born mean, infact she was one of the nicer wolves in her litter. She knew she could prove herself to the rest when the time was right though.
Liekki moved over without complaint at first, but mumbled at his younger sister.
Tahti stood up. "Well let's go then." She said excitedly. She gently picked Aurinka up with her jaws, and signaled for the others to follow her. "Take us to your home, please"
Iota almost chocked as her mother left her in the cold, growling and mumbling to follow the dam. She watched Silver with curious eyes. Huffing every once in a while but other than that she followed silently.
Silvers coat began to bounce as she took up into a slow trot. Graceful treds brought her effortlessly across the frozen desert as she lead them. "This way" she said pointing with her muzzle and body which way to go.
