Fresca, Walker, Yanis, Delfi, Falkan, & Cherry
The Alley pack, currently under the name of the Sora Asiatic pack, found their way along a narrow ledge trail that wound around a steep ridge. Fresca was in the lead, with Walker close at her heels. Delfi, the dalmation mix, came in third with Yanis and Cherry pressed in not far behind. And last was little Falkan, a small terrier mix with curly tan fur and chocolately brown eyes.
Fresca led the group along the narrow trail until it shot upwards, forcing the bunch to scramble and claw their way up the enscarpment. The toil was worth it though, for at the top, the ground leveled out around them, wide and open. Here, they were at the top of the world; well, close enough. Here was the perfect view of the Valley below and beyond.
While Fresca spoke quietly with Walker and Delfi, the two which held the most fighting potential, the others milled around. Yanis and Cherry stayed near each other, whispering secret thoughts and generally enjoying each others company.
Falkan, with all his terrier blood, found routes for his abundant energy. The little mutt distanced himself from the group, finding a lower patch of ground where he began to root around for any little rodents.
Legosa
The large brute had scented the group a while ago and trailed them like a creeping shadow. Part way up the Canyon, he deviated his coarse and cut across a second trail that led like a mini gorge into the wall of heavy rock. This route lead him to the top of the Canyon, but several hundered yards from where Fresca and her group ended up.
Still, it was perfect. Here, he could see as Falkan busied himself after prey. A miniscule little runt that'd be easy to pick off! Legosa dropped quickly to his stomach, poising his limbs under him so he could move quickly when need be. With his dark eyes locked on Falkan, Legosa began to wave his heavy tail about, hitting the brush around him and trying to create a distraction that might get the little mutt's curiosity and draw him in. And further away from his pack.
Fresca, Walker, Yanis, Delfi, Falkan, & Cherry
Falkan took the bait and came rushing towards the sound without a second's hesitation. "A little rabbit for me, maybe? Haha, I'll catch you up for dinner!" He yipped lightly, heading all out for the thick brush. His short size was a great disadvantage here, for he couldn't see the tip of Legosa's tail waving above the vegetation, nor see his white coat. Everything took on a different perspective when you're small. But as soon as he hit the brush, Falkan drew up and paused, the scent of canine flooding his nostrils, "Hey, who's there?" He demanded, growling sharply and glaring about. Of course, the foliage hindered his sight and succesfully masked the giant brute.
A little ways away, the sounds of Falkan's yips and snarls were carried away by the sharp winds that raced up the Canyon. A sharp ear might have caught it, but none of these canines had any wolf in them, and all had floppy ears that worked against their hearing. They went on talking, oblivious to their friend's peril. Falkan was always wondering off on his own, so his absence was not noticed yet.
Legosa
Keen ears, pricked forward like radars, heard every movement that Falkan made. His eyes too were blocked by the vegetation, but he had the great advantage here. He had sprung the trap, and things were playing out perfectly, just like he planned them to. Just as the terrier mix stopped, Legosa sprung into action. Like some giant coil, the massive hybrid launched himself forward, his opened jaws tearing past the line of foliage that separated him from his intended quarry. Now, with the brush out of his way, cold yellow spheres locked onto Falkan, allowing him to make last moment corrections in his aim. Not missing a beat, Legosa set his jaws to clamp about his target's small head...
Fresca, Walker, Yanis, Delfi, Falkan, & Cherry
Before he knew it, some giant form had risen up and was speeding towards him. Falkan scrambled back, but instead of a yelp of surprise, he snarled and snapped his teeth at Legosa. It saved his head from being grabbed, but his upper jaw was seized between his enemies.
Legosa
Legosa took what he got and closed his jaws tightly about Falkan's upper muzzle. Knowing he couldn't afford to let his prey make too much noise, Legosa began to thrash his head back and forth, attempting to disorientate the little mutt while doing what he could to break the jaw. He knew he'd be taking some punishment from Falkan's own teeth, but he'd put up with that in order to finish off the pest.
Fresca, Walker, Yanis, Delfi, Falkan, & Cherry
Falkan gave a muffled yelp, feeling his body being flung this way and that, with all the pressure and pain directed in his clutched muzzle. He found it hard to breath with his nose closed down on as it was, and so he could hardly afford to bite at Legosa with his lower jaw, which he needed to keep open. Having little option, the terrier mix did what he could to bat at Legosa's face, and simply hope his pack rescued him.
Unfortunately, Fresca, Walker, and Delfi were wrapped up in conversation about the Lurkers. They knew that the Lurkers had lost three during the battle, although a falcon hardly counted. They had gotten information that Aidan and Ankh no long lived in the pack, but came when the Lurkers needed. Wiping out those two could prove useful.
*Howl*
Aaka raced away at the prarie and she let out a howl calling to her mate for help. She couldnt run much longer, her long legs were already working over time. She needed Legosa's help.
A howl came from the alphess, reaching to the Canyon. The franticness and weariness of the call was worrying enough. Aaka was never weak, never nervous. But now she was on a race for her life and she didnt know how much farther she could go.
Legosa
He had planned to have a bit of fun with the little mutt, but the howl of Aaka put a quick end to that. Knowing he couldn't just let Falkan go rushing back to his pack, Legosa dipped his head down and tried to place his paws on the struggling dog to pin him. Then, quick as a flash, he shifted his bloodied jaws for the neck. Not knowing if he got it or not, Legosa bit down hard for a lethal bite, then sprang away before seeing if he was successful or not. He didn't care right now; he had to get to the Prairie!
Fresca, Walker, Delfi, & Falkan
Falkan couldn't escape in time. So frantic was he about the pain that he missed his one opportunity to spring away when the brute released him. No sooner did the pressure let up then a whole new one began, pressing the little dog to the earth with breath-stealing force. Squirming in vain under the crushing weight of Legosa, Falkan could only watch helplessly and offer a few feeble snaps at his agressor while the fatal blow was delivered. One moment he was fighting and struggling for his life, and then next, he was as silent and motionless as the weathered rocks around him.
Several yards removed from the murder scene, Fresca, Walker, and Delfi were deep into their conversations. They hadn't notice that Yanis and Cherry departed until Delfi made a glance around. Fresca snarled quietly, "Love-sick pups. They ought to know there are more important things right now." The subject was dropped as quickly as it had begun, and once more, the trio went on with their previous talks.
Sniper
The huntress had been interested in the talk of the female and others when she had been spying on Legosa so she strode forth her head high showing the Great Dane in her as her azul eyes gaze away to the wolf blood.
I am here to offer my services I am an assasin. I do the killing at others bidding. I know you are against Aaka and Legosa and they are my main targets for now. Aaka is also in with the Shadow Lurkers. If I'm not mistake your are Fresca leader of the Alley Pack
Fresca, Walker, & Delfi
Fresca turned to the stranger, her tail held high as her light brown eyes stared at Sniper. Walker was on one side of his alpha, while Delfi occupied the other. "You know a lot." Fresca spoke at last, after a thoughtful pause, "And yes, I am Fresca. Aaka and Legosa aren't the greatest concern to me," Fresca went on, totally in the dark as to the scheming that went on behind her back. That fact that Falkan, Cherry, Yanis, and Skip had all been killed, and that Legosa was to blame for one of those deaths, and a good acquaintance of Aaka's had killed two others. "... but their death would benefit me. Any friend to the Lurkers is an enemy to me."
Delfi whispered something to her alpha, who nodded vaugley before speaking up again, "You seem to know us; or me at least. But who are you? And your alliances?"
Sniper
I an a loner I have no alliances but with myself and those that hire me till the workd is done. I pick up what I know here and there from others and watching. Legosa for instance killed one of her pack memebers I am sure watched him from the brush. He is my target and I am gaining knowledge of his way.
With this spoken she sat back her gleaming voids dancing she was stealthy for her size and it showed.
Fresca, Walker, & Delfi
Fresca became instantly aggitated, while a collective gasp could be hear from the other two. The alpha's eyes narrowed and she took a step forward. Delfi looked frantically about, "Cherry! Yanis! Falkan!" She barked, worry laden in her tones.
Fresca was almost shaking with anger and shock, "You've been spying on us?" She hissed out at first, misplacing her anger on Sniper, hoping that the fae was lying, "If you are an assain, who sent you?" Fresca tried to keep as calm as possible, but it was hard to after hearing the news Sniper delivered. And after the recent death of Skip, the Alley Pack wasn't in the most trusting of moods.
Bane
Bane dashed in, skidding to a halt in front of Fresca, panting just a bit with a slightly worried look on his maw. Not waiting, he burst out, Fresca! White Noise needs you back at pack! Hurry! He pranced a little, worrying about, not scared but just wanting her to hurry. Fresca?
Sniper
She smirked as the banshee snapped at her and tried not to roll her orbs as she spoke.
You are not my current target that I can not disclose at this moments but we is well known and not well liked like his mate. He killed your member and I aim to kill him seems we are on the same side here
Her eyes pivoted to Bane the way the pup acted was intersting.
Fresca, Walker, & Delfi
Fresca gave a slow nod, "I don't like to believe in your words, but if they are indeed true..." Beside her, Walker snorted faintly, wanting to call Sniper a liar; wanting to believe that she was a liar. "...then we are on the same side, yes." Her words were monotone and heavy with dread, but also with a grimness. Before she could say further, Bane appeared and stole her attention in an instant.
Walker and Delfi looked simultaneously to Fresca, who in turn gave them a quick look each. "What could it be...?" But Bane's voice had enough urgency in it so that Fresca didn't wait for a reply; it was only a question to be mulled over by herself. Without a farewell, the stress-ridden alpha bound away from Bane and Sniper, with Walker and Delfi close on her heels.
Bane
Having accomplished his purpose, the dark prince dashed after her.
