Rose

A young mare wondered into the area. She was lost and had no herd. She slowly walked. She snifed the air. Then she relized she was in trouble. She smelled wolfs. She looked around as the wolfs apeared.

Kisp

A whitetailed deer had been out grazing by herself when scent of the horse came to her. In her herd, horses were generally looked upon as friends. Not only that, but the herd just south of them belong to the Horse Clan.

Kisp approached Rose carefully, dipping her head now and then and flicking her tail, "Hail." She called out, using her herd's formal 'greeting' for does. "I'm Kisp, who are you? If you don't mind me asking." The deer hadn't scented any wolves yet, but her large eyes would flicker this way and that as she looked out for danger.

Tornado

A wolf's howl rose strong on the air, a little ways from the two. But it was hard to tell which way the call came from, because the sound was reverberating off the solid canyon walls. It wasn't long before a wolf showed up, his fur a light, steely-gray in color. Without warning, Tornado burst into flight, heading right for Kisp. If he could get close enough, he tried to leap at her flank and get a grip on her side.

Kisp

Kisp froze at the sound of the howl, "We should run..." Two instincts wrestled in her mind now; flight or fight. Could she hold her ground against the wolf, or would her swift legs carry her to safety? The deer tried to stand her ground as she watched the wolf advance, but it quickly became apparent that this option wasn't the right one in this situation.

With a sharp bark of alarm, Kisp whirled on her haunches and began to run. But she had done so too late, and the wolf's fangs tore down her side. Somehow, amid the flurry of pain and fear, the doe manage to stay on her hooves and pull away from the wolf. With her side laid open and a trail of blood marking her path, Kisp began to run wildly along one of the canyon trails, trying to distance herself from Tornado.
