Adrian & Others

Dimitri knew a good hiding spot. He had taken Angela hunting with him in this area once, having heard from a friend that there were signs of deer, rabbits and game fowl here. They mainly spotted wolves, though, and decided to move to a different area. But the hiding spot was still here. Dimitri led the group to a thicket near the creek, where their were fewer prints and signs of animals. He climbed down off of Red October and took cover.

"They shouldn't spot us here - we could probably take out at least a few unnoticed." Dimitri told the others. Adrian and Shasta soon got down on the ground with him. The horses stayed back in the small gathering of old pine trees, hopefully hidden from the predatory animals. The hounds, for now, stayed with the hunters and their horses, having not been given the command to go. And then came the moment of quietly waiting for a chance and a good shot.

Blackened Song & Chili

Blackened song who was the daughter of Black Plaque and Windsong though she didn't claim Black as her mother ever not even as a pup. She looked like her mother besides having a white under belly and her top half black. She was laying down chewing on the leg of a dead animal. Her ears flicked when she heard bushs moving but didn't really think anything of it just the wind she thought.

Chili her only daughter whose father had been Javelin. She was black with a little white around her chin with Dark Amber eyes. She was three years old now and clearly built for speed. She was currently chasing a rabbit around for fun. She didn't plan on killing it atleast not today.

Ethan & Others

Ethan let the others lead, and took up a position behind them as they traveled quietly through the wilderness. He was familiar with the Valley enough to get around on his own without guidance, but it had been some time since he'd been in this particular area, and Dimtri and his group had traveled it more recently than he had anyway, and had a better sense for what creatures they might find. Following their lead, Ethan dismounted from Harthrou and joined them in hiding, and without needing to give command, the hunting hounds gathered near him as they waited anxiously for orders.

"Smell them?" Tommy whispered, soon picking up on the scent of Song and Chili. "I wonder if the two-leggers mean to kill or to take captives?" Unlike Kong and the King Hounds, Tommy didn't use the word 'master'. He wasn't as loyal as they were, anddidn't mind talking of the humans in the more derogatory term of 'two-legger'.

Adrian & Others

In the distance, Rowan stood near Blackened Song, seeming to watch over everybody. The three-legged white coywolf - son of Tahti and Windsong - had taken the lead while Amari was away, as always. He was the general of their army. And besides that, he was a guardian, along with his sister Isabel. Currently, since the humans and their animals were downwind and somewhat far off and hidden, Rowan didn't notice them yet. Predator, daughter of Tahti and Luke, was also nearby, sitting next to Rowan and licking her feet. They were so itchy. Her head hurt a bit too, but she figured it was just normal for this time of year.
Taija, a daughter of Tommy and Tahti, was on alert. Something was bothering her, but she couldn't figure out what. She paced back and forth, wandering around.

For now, those were the few wolves Adrian could see, or at least the few he noticed. They were really quite perfect. Robust, yet agile. It was that coyote blood in them. Two particularly caught his eye: Blackened Song and Rowan. They both bore the blood of Windsong. Rowan was smaller, but held the same build as Windsong, and had a hint of coyote in him - perhaps the one-eyed coyote that seemed to once be the alpha here? Of course, Rowan stood out more because of his missing leg. It didn't look like he was even born with a leg there.
Shasta took aim at Rowan. "I'm going for the one with three legs." The woman stated, getting Rowan in the crosshair. Dimitri looked at her for a moment as if to protest, but he eventually decided against it. Even though the white coywolf had a massing leg, he would still be a good prize. A good addition to the breed.
"See anything you like, Ethan?" Dimitri asked, lining his aim up with Blackened Song. Adrian had his sights set on Predator, a speedy-looking coywolf. However, none of the three pulled the trigger yet. And when they did, it would be simple tranquilizer darts.

"Coyotes." Anya said in reply to Tommy. "And wolves. Coyotes and wolves." She paused and stared at Tommy for a moment. "Hey Tom, you once had pups with a coyote, right?" She had heard from a friend of a friend of a friend that for a while, a coyote by the name of Tahti had spent some time at Ethan's place and grew somewhat close to Tommy, before returning to the wild. Apparently, she couldn't take the domestic life.
Zola was the one to answer Tommy's question about whether there would be captives or fur coats. "I saw my humans load up their guns with those spikes. You know, the spikes that make you go to sleep. I think they might bring home some live mutts." The mare informed casually, then returned to munching on grass.

Blackened Song & Chili

Blackened song laid there peacefully watching everyone whether they were her half siblings or what not. She then looked to chili. she sighed even though her daughter was three years old she still acted like a pup. Even though she herself had three 1 year olds. Chili finally caught the rabbit and killed it and paraded around as if proud of her catch before calling to her three kids even though they could hunt now she still treated them like pups.

Buzzard who was grizzled mix of ash and rust colors, with highlights of black around his tail and neck.with one blue eye and one gray eye. He didn't know where his two sisters Tuxa and velena were. He was the son of bergamot and Chili. He grabbed the rabbit and tore half of it .

Ethan & Others

"Aaa-chooo!" A loud sneeze came from Tuxa, who was just now joining the small group that was mingling around Rowan and Blackened Song. The young hybrid was coal black, with tinges of rust coloration along her hackles, ears, and tail, and a pair of white front paws. She and Buzzard were far darker than the lightly colored Valena, who had pale off-white fur, and a light gray mask over her face. Only her ears and tail carried a hint of the ruddy tinge that were so prominent on her two litter mates.

The two sisters padded casually towards the group, where Tuxa immediately took interest in the rabbit that her brother had taken. Being mischievous, Tuxa tried sneaking up on Buzzard, before pouncing and attempting to steal the rabbit away from him.

Meanwhile, Ethan was observing the gathering of canines and carefully taking his pick of the bunch. "The little black one there, with the white points." His eyes had fallen on Taija, one of the smallest in the group, at a dainty fifty pounds. "I want that one alive. Which ever you guys don't want alive, I'm taking shots at if we get the chance." With their live targets picked, Ethan aimed and prepared to fire at the same time as the others, so that they could catch the canines by surprise.

Tommy raise an eye to Anya, "I sired quite a few litters, to tell you the truth." He sounded almost uneasy when he said this, because with the wind being in their favor, he had picked up on a familiar scent... his daughter. He hadn't really met her officially yet, not since she'd been born and moved off back into the wild before Ethan could have a chance to nab her. Still, he did care about her, even if he was terribly promiscuous and didn't rightfully know half of his offspring... he cared enough to glance upwards at the crouching humans, and contemplated making a noise of some sort to warn Taija, but he knew he'd get a boot to the head from Ethan if he dared frighten their 'prey'.

Adrian & Others

"Bless you." Said Predator in response to Tuxa's sneeze. Immediately after this, she followed with her own sneeze. Something must be going around. The hybrid, weakened by some unknown disease, was an easy target.

"Ah, so you have." Anya said indifferently, but had a slight grin on her face. "I smell somebody of your blood out there, Tommy. Who is it?" Anya seemed to respect nobody's boundaries; if she was curious, she'd prod at somebody until she got an answer.

"I was thinking we could take them all alive... They're all good." With the, he looked back at the others and nodded, signaling that if they were ready to fire, now would be a good time.
Adrian pulled the trigger. Predator was hit straight in the shoulder. She stood up and looked around, dazed and confused, before toppling to the ground and falling asleep.
Shasta kept her aim on Rowan. "That one is cool. Go for it." Shasta replied to Ethan, taking a second to look at Taija. After that, she shot at Rowan. She missed. Her eyes widened as she watched the big coywolf try to find out who shot at Predator and who was shooting at him. Shasta stayed low as she reloaded the gun with another dart.
"Who's there?" Taija called. She knew something didn't seem right. But she just couldn't tell where they were.
Dimitri steadied his tranquilizer gun, making sure his aim was on Blackened Song. He pulled the trigger, sending a dart speeding toward the wolf, hopefully sticking her.

So far, this hunt looked quite dangerous, both for the humans and the wild canines. Thankfully, if there was any trouble, the hounds would be off to protect their humans.

Blackened Song & Chili & Buzzard

Blackened Song heard the noise and had stood but not moved enough to avoid her dart and she yelped but then fell back down asleep.

Chili head shot up and she raced to her mother and nudged her before looking around and growling with her teeth bared but staying near her mother.

Buzzard had lost the rabbit to his sister and snorted but then he heard his grand mothers yelp and his head twisted around and he went to his mother and grand mother and looked around confused and growling.

Ethan & Others

Ethan focused his aim, and lined his shot, trying to time it with the others so that he'd have a good chance at hitting Taija. And when Dimitri and the others fired, Ethan was not a second behind them, sending a dart for Taija's shoulder, and hoping that his aim was true. "Sure you guys don't want any pelts?" Ethan didn't reach for his riffle, not if the others wanted to take these canines alive. But if the pack rallied and found their hiding spot, he'd be ready to use bullets over darts to defend himself.

Tuxa pranced around with the rabbit at first, gloating over her victorious steal. Her parade was ended when Valena tackled her and grabbed the rabbit, and was getting ready to turn and bolt when panic ensued. She hadn't heard any shots, but some of her packmates were dropping like they'd been hit by human weapons. Immediately, Valena dropped the rabbit and sprinted tuck-tailed towards Buzzard and their grandmother, "What's going on...?"

Tommy shifted nervously, pacing forward a little and mumbling a response back to Anya, "A daughter." He was getting increasingly anxious, especially when he heard the whimpers and snarls - had his daughter been shot? No... they hadn't used any bullets; so she was fine, wasn't she? Tommy moved again, stalking towards the edge of the brush where they were hiding, and getting a sharp reprimand from Ethan.

Adrian & Others

Adrian was a bit shocked when Rowan began searching for the source of the darts. While he had only three legs, Adrian wasn't going to underestimate that big coywolf. "We're taking them alive, Ethan." The Russian man said gruffly, making it known that he was the boss here. Not many people had argued with him; those who did often ended up dead in some way.
Taija was soon hit, not knowing what had stuck her. She stumbled toward the bushes - though had no idea what was behind them - and collapsed in front of them. It wasn't long before Rowan spotted the humans. He barked to the pack, then charged toward the bushes. They had better have a good plan, because Rowan wasn't about to go down easily.
Anya nodded to Tommy. "Well, now you can be reunited." The scent grew stronger, then came a yelp just outside of their hiding spot. Anya could barely see the hybrid, but she quite resembled Ethan's hound. Yes, this was most certainly Taija.

Blackened Song & Chili & Buzzard

Chili nudged her mother till she heard rowan. She turned to her year old pups. You three stay hereShe spoke and then bolted toward the bushs. Her tail up and her legs moving her swiftly across the ground snarls erupting from her throat as she went.

Buzzard whimpered at his mother but moved to stand in front of his sisters protectivly.

Ethan & Others

Valena stayed behind Buzzard, shivering a little in her fear at the chaos that was rising up around them. "What's going on?!" She saw Rowan charge for the brush, where Taija had collapsed in front of in her panicked run, but she held back on Chili's orders. Tuxa didn't listen though - she followed Rowan's command and charged forward with a snarl all of her own, moving for the hiding spot of the hunters.

Ethan aimed a shot at Rowan and fired on the rapidly approaching coywolf, hoping to bring him down before he reached them. "We'd best bring them down quick, or we'll have to resort to bullets." Ethan could easily go under the orders of others, and was fairly use to that in working for Ben, but he had a line to draw. After firing a dart at Rowan, he took a few steps back, putting himself behind the hounds.

"Back off, or we'll rip your throat out!" Tommy bristled and charged from the brush, where he stopped just on the edge of it and glared down the larger Rowan. Command or no, it was his job to see that Ethan wasn't injured, and if he could give the humans a bit of extra time to bring the leader down, then he'd do it. At the same time, he couldn't help but side-glance at his fallen daughter, and though he was compelled to go to her side, he had to do his job first.

Adrian & Others

Rowan wasn't about to stop. His parents had died protecting this pack, and he wasn't about to fall with them. There was no way he'd let them down; he wanted to make them proud. With the true spirit of a Tahti-Windsong born, he leapt through the bushes, and naturally went for the closest person: Adrian. The man put his face to the ground and covered his neck, barely feeling the coywolf's teeth before Ethan's dart took effect. With the biggest threat down, he lifted his mud-covered face and carried on the hunt as usual. "Ethan, if you kill my wolves, you're dead. Got it?" He made it sound as if he was serious.

Shasta, a bit upset that she missed Rowan in the first place and put her friends in danger, loaded the gun and took aim at Chili. She pulled the trigger, sending a dart speeding towards the canine.

Dimitri was quick to respond to the threat of the yearling wolf. With the precision of a person who had been firing guns for most of his life, he shot at Tuxa. But with the wolf moving so fast, he might miss. Then they'd be in trouble.

Adrian, however, went for either of the two young wolves hanging back, apparently children of the larger wolf heading their way.

Chili

She growled out as she moved fast. Her legs shoving her forward and then she felt a small pain in her hind end. But she didn't stop she shoved forward. She had seen the one Dimitri taking aim at Tuxa and had leaped for him but when she was in mid air the tranq took effect and she would fall either on him or on the ground knocked out.

Buzzard barked out to tuxa trying to call her back. His tail twitching. Being now positioned in front of my other sister the dart that Adrian then shot out hit him and he yelped and stared at it and then at the bushs before fallingto his side in front of his sister.get out of hereHe whimpered to her before falling under it.

Ethan & Others

The man very nearly drew his gun out when Rowan broke through their cover and lunged for Adrian. Kong and Casper darted forward however, ready to throw their weight around and protect the other two-legger, even if he wasn't their master. Fortunately for them and Rowan, the leader fell before he was able to harm Adrian, and they held back their attack on him. "He's down, but watch him." Kong growled, ordering Casper to watch the fallen coywolf, while he circled back near Ethan. The man was too caught up in the hunt now to comment back to the others; his focus was on one of the last canines still standing... Valena.

The pale-coated fae was pacing anxiously around her fallen friends, and kept nudging Buzzard. "Where is everyone?! We need help!" Terribly distraught, the hybrid howled out to the rest of the pack, but was hit by Ethan's dart mid-way through her call. With a yelp, she bolted away, running deeper into the forest, where she eventually fumbled and collapsed.

Tuxa didn't give a yelp or flinch when the dart hit her, she just kept on running. She was close enough now that she could reach the humans before the drugs took effect, but before she could quite reach any of them, Tommy lunged and tackled her to the ground. There was a wild snarl and snapping of fangs as the two ripped at each other, but the fight ended quick enough, with a bloodied Tuxa going limp from the dart.

Adrian & Others

Dimitri, too, was ready to pull out his rifle when Chili leapt for him. Instead, the tranquilized canine fell on him, and he quickly pushed it aside.

"That looks like the last of them." Stated Adrian once the small pack appeared to be brought down. But he spoke too soon, for another creature came from behind: Tainted. She was one of the smaller hybrids, weighing in at 80 pounds instead of over 100 pounds like most here, but she was by no means weak. To prove this, she went after the horses. She leapt at Panther, the smallest of them all, and the Arabian wildy reared with the whites of his eyes showing.

Minnesota Silvereye, one of the newer members of Adrian's pack, saw his chance to prove something. The tricolor mix leapt at Tainted, but the speedy hybrid quickly dodged.

It was Shasta who loaded a dart and fired this time. This was the same hybrid she had captured once. She was going to recapture her. With a pull of the trigger, the dart hit Tainted, and after battling with Minn for a while, she fell limp when the tranquilizer took effect.

"I don't see anymore." Shasta said, looking around to be sure. "We should load the catches up and head to the bog."

Chili

Chili,Buzzard and Blackened Song remained uncouncious

Ethan & Others

After the last of the original group had fallen, and just before Tainted showed up, Ethan got his cellphone out and dialed Dan's number. "...yeah, we've got a load here, should need only one trailer for them. ...No, we're heading a few clicks south of here, to the Bog. ...Got the coordinates? ...See you then." With a click, he closed the small device and put it back into his pocket, and turned to address Adrian and the others, "Dan's on his way. Soon as we load these guys up, he can take them back to my place for keeping until we're finished with the hunt... here comes another!"

Shasta was already on it, taking a shot at the rapidly approaching Tainted and hitting her as the hounds closed in. Ethan shouted for his own pack, who circled and bayed at the fighting canines, making sure that Tainted didn't break free and either run away, or have a go at the humans. Fortunately, the dart worked quickly, and in short time, the coywolf fell. While the hounds were still tense and sniffing about the fallen quarry, Ethan took his time surveying the land around them, making sure there were no more predators in sight before he ventured out from cover. "Lets get these few gathered up, and Dan will be here any minute."

Kong followed his master as Ethan cautiously strode across the ground, first checking on Taija, then moving towards Tuxa, "Dammit, Tommy! You about killed this one." He growled out at the smaller hound as he nudged Tuxa's head, moving it to the side to get a better look at the punctures around her neck. Tommy pinned his ears and shied away from Ethan before he might get kicked, and slunk close to his felled daughter.

In a few minutes time, Dan's truck pulled as close as it could manage to the takedown area, with a trailer in tow, filled with enough cages to house all of their captured animals.
