Reverie & Lanchar

The two coyodogs made it to the lake before Lanchar could go no further. A stain of blood ran from his nose and mouth, dripping from his jaws and staining the fur down his neck and chest. He gasped and coughed on the blood in his lungs, and winced in agony at every step, and every breath he took. He collapsed on the ground, his muzzle splashing in the shallow water at the shore and churning it a ruddy crimson color.

Reverie whimpered in mental agony, knowing her brother was dieing. She nestled down beside him and spook in a choked but soothing voice, "Lanchar, sweet brother... don't suffer." Her eyes turned skyward and she blinked back tears. He lay gasping for air, unable to reply. His eyes were clouded with pain.

Her throat flexed and she spoke again, this time saying a singing a song, distorted and jerky from her attempts not to cry.
"Sweet brother, my best friend...
I'll stand with you to the end...
Don't fear any more, sweet brother...
"
Slowly, Lanchar's eyes rolled towards his sister and his jaws flexed once, but he could not find the air to speak. She went on, closing her eyes tight to hold back the tears,
"Here I am, don't be afriad anymore...
I'll steal away your pain...
Take away your sorrows...
I'll be your best friend, always, to the end...
"

Lanchar's body shuttered suddenly and he drew a paw against the ground as if some pain had gotten to him. Reverie's song faded into a whisper and she looked to her brother's eyes, then touched her muzzle to his, "Please don't suffer, please don't leave me!" She broke down, sobbing now. When she opened her eyes a moment later, she realized Lanchar's body had relaxed. Her stomach seemed to drop right out of her. Reverie threw back her coyote-like head and howled out in utter greif.

Thunder & Thyme

The two gray wolf brothers were both from different batches of pups. They had the same parents, though. All of their other siblings had vanished in a horrible winter storm and their parents had been taken away by humans... So, here they were now, growing up fine and healthy in their home. No longer did they live in a pack, but Thunder, the older of the two, longed to be in a pack once more. It would be safer. You just couldn't keep Thyme away from new things, even if the thing is old. One time Thyme's attention was taken by a tree's swaying leaves in a cool breeze. He never left the tree until dark. Thunder was indeed concerned about his little brother's safety, but how could he watch this 4 year old that acted like a tiny pup and still be wary of the dangers around them? It was hard work, for him. He couldn't multitask very much like other animals could.

Thyme was first to catch the scent of these two new canines, and it sparked off his curiousness to a high level. Thunder was bumped backward when his little brother sped forward, toward the sounds of a song. He didn't know what it was about, obviously. He dashed past trees and through bushes to find the source. He skidded to a stop near the fae, ears perked, toung lolling out of his parted jaws. He yipped to her, tail starting to pound the ground. This wasn't what a wolf would act like, and Thunder knew that, but he was always around to protect his little brother from the wrong animals. "Hey!" Thyme barked out. He wasn't aware of the dead canine but he could still feel the pressure of sorrow in the atmosphere.

Thunder finally burst through the underbrush, his fur matted with small spurs and jagged things from the bushes. He stepped next to Thyme, "Why did you run away like that?" Thunder asked his brother in a serious tone.
"Because," Thyme replied, his eyes fixed on Reverie.
Thunder hadn't noticed the other two canines. He turned his head, and then didn't seem too surprised. "Hello," he said, "I am Thunder, and this is my little brother Thyme," he said as he looked to his brother whom was now standing beside him. He didn't really know what to say right now. His brother had emtied his mind of proper words temporarily.
Thyme stayed in his usual position, not quite bothered by the situation.

Reverie

Reverie sprung up, wheeling around when Thyme first came through the brush. Her hollow, pain-filled eyes turned sharp in a snap and her ears laid back. Being a coyodog, and a female at that, she was smaller than any average wolf. Only around 80 pounds. Her mustard-yellow orbs glared accusingly to the intruding wolf as her hackles raised in defense. But before she could throw out an insult or threat, he spoke. And then another wolf appeared!

She listened tensely to their conversation and quickly found they weren't here to attack her; or at least she hoped, for her 'kind' usually weren't tolerated by wolves. Her tall, pointed ears remained pasted back, but her hackles went down as she ventured a few words, shaken by her desolate mood still,

"Reverie." The hybrid responded, not looking all to approachable with a crouched, tense body and shifty gaze. She glanced once at Lanchar before shuddering faintly and looking back to the wolves. Her emotions were too exhausted at the moment to hold much more fear of these two. It also left her mind a bit blank, and so she stared soundlessly at them, not sure what to expect. She only wished her other two brothers were here right now.

Thunder & Thyme

Thyme at first thought this was all some kind of little game(so unlucky for him) and so raised his hackles and then bowed down playfully. But his actions were soon stopped by Thunder. With a loud sigh, Thyme sat back on his haunches and watched Reverie through a blue eye and a green one. Both his and Thunder's coloring were unusual and unuique. Somebody could easily mistake them for wolves with husky in them at first glance. But Thunder's looks were much more appealing for wildlife.
"Wha--,"
Thunder hushed his little brother with a raised paw and a slight 'side bump'. Thyme quickly lowered onto his belly and rested his head on his paws. He wasn't all too wolfly. He acted too much like a dog-- Most of the time.

Thunder looked at Reverie. "Ummm," he started. He didn't know if he should risk asking a question about the dead hybrid or just stay quiet. There wasn't much to talk about these days, and right now, the only thing that had his true side of attention was Lanchar. Thunder knew it was his job to protect Thyme, and so if anything bad should happen to or threaten Thyme, Thunder would definitly stop it. He was wondering if this hybrid would strike an attack at them or not, since she didn't seem like one for someone to make angry now. "Ummm," he started once again, "whom is that if you don't mind me asking?"
Now Thunder knew he shouldn't stir up trouble, but he wasn't wise enough to know what to do next. The only thing on his mind right now might not be the best thing to ask about, but he went ahead and asked anyway. What else was there to do now? After all, you have to be a bit curious at some point in your life.

Reverie

Her eyes flashed coldly to Thyme as his own hackles went up, but then it came to her that it was not seriously intended. A low snarl escaped from her throat at this, though she would have gladly played with him if the situation was... different.

Now the corners of her long mouth drew back tight and her ears came out to the sides more, showing her displeasure and discomfort at the question. Yet she responded, "My brother. A.... hunting accident... he-" she stopped herself, narrowing her eyes a moment before staring at Thunder now with an now uncertain look on her features.

Thunder & Thyme

Thyme still thought that this was some kind of game, despite the real facts. There was hardly any joy in this world. Thyme raised his tail and then suddenly felt hungry. Maybe after this him and Thunder could go rampaging through trashcans? But only if Thunder would allow it, of course. That was the real problem. "I'm hungry, Thunder." Thyme said with a tired tone of voice.

Thunder wanted to ignore his little brother's words but didn't want to spend all day here. He wanted to leave the dead canine. It made him feel uneasy and sorta queezy. He knew it wasn't respect he would be showing, but desire to leave. "Okay."
Then Thunder turned his attention back to Reverie, "We are heading to the Stores or the Dump... Anywhere to find some food." Thunder didn't know what to say and therefor didn't want to stay here. As uneasy as he felt, he was still hungry. He listened to his stomach growl to him. It wasn't all too pleasing for him. "Bye." was the last word said before Thunder motioned for his brother to follow him. They were headed to the Stores.
