Ankh
The ebony hybrid sulked into the lands with an expression that looked utterly ticked off. His muzzle was peppered with little cuts and punctures. And if his lush fur weren't so thick, the same kind of marks could be seen all about the nape of his neck and his back. They were all from his aunt, the sole alpha of the Shadow Lurkers. He had deserved it, at least by her standards, and there was nothing he could do to stop the punishment. Not if he valued his place in the pack, anyway.
Fuming with anger, the hybrid made his way to the shore and glared down at his reflection. He pawed at the now dried drooplets of blood and his muzzle before sitting down, gazing blankly over the water.
Whisper
The silver fae slunk in after Ankh, the brute she had spoken to a few times before and had raided the cows with. His appearance held cuts that she had not scene before, and a curious attitude fell upon her. Her peds brought her closer as her silver spheres held question within. As she knew she was noticed her tone spurt out, the normal tones she always carried.
"Ankh... don't tell me the cows did that to you?"
In a way she was mocking him, but truely she knew nothing of his aunt. Only that he was now injured after her last seeing him in the cow pasture.
Ankh
Ankh turned quickly, surprised and guarded at the voice he heard while lost in his thoughts. He scoffed lightly and absent-mindedly pawed his face in self-consciousness. The hybrid wondered whether he should lie and say he get tangled in a thorn bush, or tell what had really happened to him. "Eh, I got in a little scuffle." he offered, looking to Whisper then, trying to hide his embarrassement and hoping she wouldn't pry further. He was trying to act 'cool' and worthy of her presence.
"Those cattle out to be heading deeper into the wilderness." Ankh commented suddenly, striving for a different topic other than his guilty wounds, "With luck, they'll all scatter."
Whisper
The huntress let a light chucke fall from her mug, not completly buying the story yet for once she wouldn't pry further. Instead she nodded to his mention of the cattle, staring out at the distance. She nodded again to the lucky part and then looked to Ankh, a random question coming to her mind. Silly, but for saometime the fae had wondered about it.
"A pack... what's it like?"
Ankh
He looked to her with a start at the question as his mind instantly snapped back to the punishment he received not too long ago. The hybrid hunched his shoulders a bit in an irritable way, but not towards Whisper; just towards the thought of his chastisement. "Well... it's good to have support, I guess. But it's no good to have limits set by your alpha." He snorted disdainfully at the thought, "I'd love to be free, but I don't want to be disowned by my pack. They offer too much protection for me," Ankh explained, then offered with a grim laugh, "And too risky of an enemy to create. My sister was exiled from my pack a long time ago." He went on, talking far more than he usually did.
Whisper
The huntress nodded to his words, thinking of how it would be not having all the freedom she did, but imagining a back to back her up when she attacked the humans. It had both drawbacks and advantages, and it gave her more reason to question her style of life. When she was young she was in a pack, her and her simblings. But being the alpha's children, they always had privilages, and they were spoiled until they day they left. Since then she had been a loner for the most part, traveling with her brothers, spliting up and meeting a time later. A light sigh exited her maw, and as she did she quickly recovered by pulling herself up to a proud stance. "So your saying if you left your pack... they would disown you as they did your sister?"
Ankh
He furrowed his features in a thoughtful expression, "Loyalty is very important in my pack, but... I don't think I'd be disowned for leaving. With just reasoning, and promise to aide them when ever they needed." He decided, but still wasn't quite sure. Aidan was on rocky grounds after leaving the pack, even though he would still help them fight when needed. "My sister left our pack to live with an enemy." Ankh added after a moment, smirking. "She's wise now to stay out of our way. But tell me, what's it like to live free?"
Whisper
The duchess sat, listening to him and responding to the question as if she had been asked a thousand times. "You are free to roam wherever, granted you can handle yourself. You have your own rules, and the laws of natures are the only which you must follow. Those are the good tings. But without a pack we lack protection. Attacking humans is more difficult, for without a pack for backup, a well trained human can easily harm, if not kill you. Just with a pack it has disadvantages and advantages. It makes a lupe wish to not have to choose, between the life as a loner.. and the life in a pack."
her dial turned to allow ambers to look at Ankh. "I've spoken too much"
Normaly the fae was less polite, less calm less... like this. But this brute kept her from her comeplete evil side, brought some... natural thoughts to her mind. It was strange yet she didn't hate it like she thought she wouldn.
Ankh
He shook his head, "It's fun listening. It's not often that I actually get time to talk with anyone." The ebony hybrid pointed out, listing his sleek head to the side in a curious manner. Already he was forgetting about the brutal punishment he had recieved. Of his pack, and maybe it was because of his smaller size, Ankh was definately the most violent of the bunch.
"What do you think of humans? And pets?" He questioned out of the blue. His pack didn't mess with humans too much, at least not close to town, for obvious reasons. But more than once, Ankh had strayed off to mess with the two-leggers or their pets at the risk of punishment from his alpha.
Whisper
The fae let a slight laughter fall from her lips at the mention of humans. Were her feeling not that obvious? Oh well she might as well explain. "I hate them, despise them, and loath them. Their pets have gained my feeling as well. They have been put here, simply for the amusement of wolves, and our human loving 'brothren' have chosen to become our playthings as well. It is simple. But your feelings.. how are they to the two legged race."
Ankh
A grin spread itself over his dark muzzle as he heard just what he wanted too, and more. "Quite the same. It is the only real reason I do not enjoy being part of the Shadow Lurkers. The killing humans must be few and far between with us, lest we bring about hunters who live in our domain." He explained, his sharp yellow orbs glistening devilishly, "Living with and helping humans is a disgrace."
Whisper
The huntress nodded to his last comment, looking to him with her steel orbs before speaking again. "Ankh, don't you belive that you would be happier as a loner. If to keep your pack safe and to allow yourself to enjoy life. I know I should not speak, for pack life has not been mine for some time, but possibly a loner would be a better life style for you now."
She was more or less suggesting this to give the brute freedom to kill. She, not knowing many in his pack, didn't care for them in really anyway, but her suggestion would make ti seem she took them into consideration.
Ankh
His eyes lit up faintly, "A loner..." Slowly, a confident, cocky grin revealed his striking white canines. "I think I would enjoy that very much. To be a renegade!" His tail gave a wag now, thinking of all he could do now. Attack the Ranch, for one, without consulting with his aunt first. Heck, he could even attack Aminita and Aidan too, although deep down he still cared a bit for a his brother. Still, over time, that could all change.
Whisper
A sly grin formed on her features, quite glad of Ankh's decision. Hr dial turned, steel spheres looking out before she spoke yet again. "Your pack, when will you tell them of your dicision?"
Ankh
Ankh gritted his teeth slightly, closing his eyes for a moment against the mental anguish of that job. His many, superfiscial wounds still stung and reminded him as well of the physical anguish that he might feel. "Tomorrow, I guess." Ankh said at last, "Once, hopefully, Hydras has calmed down." Suddenly he stuck his nose to the air, cocking his head to the side in a quizzical way, "Do you... smell that? Smells like human... and wolves."
Whisper
Dial lifted at his words, nare scenting, catching easly the scent she had blocked out earlier. But another seemed to enter her scenters, something foul and unnatural. But after a few moment, she found the smell of death pungent amoung that of wolves and the human. "They must have succeded in killing it..." She was quiet for a moment, contimplating questioning him over the strange scent. "Have you found the unpleasent odor mixing with that of human and wolf."
