*Humans*

Two humans were trekking across the land, clad in jeans, thick boots, and winter coats. The woman had a large backpack while the man toted a sled behind him, piled with various supplies. There were no sign of guns.

Unknown to the wolves, this pair of humans were biologists who were determined to find out if the wolves in this area were as aggressive as the townspeople said. They hoped to find some wolves and set up a temporary camp in their territory; but they had yet to stumble across a territory.

Ridged Edge*Ghost

The two had been layed in the shade when they heard the humans, at first they thought about running but when they seen them they decided not to run. The alphess, Ghost, stalked them as they walked, always staying out of veiw from them, she snarled to herself, she hated humans.
Edge began to follow her, the cougar could easily take down one of the humans by himself. He came up beside them but stayed in the bushes unsean.

*Humans*

The woman, possessing just a bit better hearing than her companion, turned around suddenly. "Did you hear that?" she questioned while adujsting the pack on her back.

The man stopped as well, looking about and scrunching his eyes against the blare of the sun against the melting snow and ice. "Naw, I didn't hear anything. There's tracks around, but these wolves are shy I take it. Good thing, you know."

She nodded absently, studying the brush for the noise she was sure she heard. "You really think they are people killers? It sure sounds like myth to me."

The man gave a slight laugh, "Anything is possible. My guess is that hybrids are responsible." he let the rope slacken around his waist where he was dragging the sled, "Most 'killers' are pets turned loose, you know? Not afraid of humans. But that's what we're here to find out."

"Suppose we find they are wolves, and they are attacking humans...." she persisted, but now turned her light eyes to her husband.

He shrugged, "The problem is isolated to this valley, it seems. If there are wolves attacking, which I doubt, then we can find out why."

The conversation continued as they began to walk again. Going by the facts they already knew, these two humans couldn't be farther from the truth in this valley.

Ghost*Ridged Edge

Ghost got a smirk on her face, even though she couldn't understand what they were saying, she knew they were stupid. Slowly she came from the bushes, jumped quietly over a clup of branchs so they wouldn't snap. She came up behind them, her fangs bared and she shook her tail to summon Edge. Then suddenly she ran forwards and jumped up onto the sled, her fangs bared she snarled at the man.
At the same time, Edge came out of the bushes still unnoticed if both of the humans were looking at Ghost. He stalked forwards towards the female of the two and snarled loudly then let out a cougar like roar at them.

*Humans*

The man jerked to a stop, finding the sudden weight added to his sled. Both he and his wife wheeled around with a start, seeing the two. The man instantly dropped the rope from his chest and slowly backed away from the sled; his wife was right beside him. There was a flurry of words exchanged between the two.

"Are we trespassing on their land? Maybe there's a kill nearby..." The lady whispered frightfully, her wide eyes flicking about the scenery.

The man shook his head, "No, they shouldn't be like this! Remember 'Never Cry Wolf'? Those wolves didn't attack when he went by their den; their pups! These... they.." but he was promptly cut off.

"Oh, screw that man and his book. He apparently doesn't give a damn about wolves. He says take them off the endangered list, you know? And I thought he was for the wolves!" She shook her head angrily at the thought, disgusted by a real-life biologist whom betrayed the creatures that made him famous.

"Now's not the time for this, hun. Keep your guard up. Look down. Act big. Remeber what we've been taught." They were both flailing their arms in the air as they now shouted their words. Trying to look big and dangerous.

Ghost*Ridged Edge

Ghost snorted at the funny looking humans, flayling their arms around like that, pathetic. She jumped down from the sled and stalked forth towards the humans, then suddenly she ran and jumped up at the man, fangs bared and claws out streached.

Edge snarled loudly as they backed up towards him, then he to lunged his massive body towards the woman. His massive jaws were aimed for the back of her neck, and his paws out to knock her down.

*Humans*

They both readied themselves for the worst. Both thinking they had misjudged the situation. The man had jumped infront of his wife just in time and swung his backback around to buffet Ghost away while he braced for the impact so that he wouldn't fall down.

The woman had gotten her own backpack ready as a shield and held it up just in time as well as she spun around to meet Edge. Using their packs as sheilds and standing back to back, the two humans began to retreat for the thick trees.

Taijya

The huntress watched the humans, hading come not for them, but to see how her friend was doing. It had been rumored she was injured and weak and she may need help. But to find this made her more uptight and brougth her to hide in a place humans would run for safety. As she watched the battle, a smirked appeared as they ran towards her and she herself was ready. She stayed close to the ground, her black form blending pretty well with the shadows the forest gave off. When she was close enough Taijya lept off the ground, jaws snapping at the arm of the female human. Then were smaller, weaker and much easier prey then the men.

Ghost*Ridged Edge*Ice

Ghost lifted her muzzle and emitted a call out for her buddy Ice. Then she snarled and stepped closer to the humans.
Ridged Edge ran around to stop them from entering the trees, he snarling and snapped at their heals to get them moveing towards Ghost. He lowered his cougar bodice to the ground, then launched himself at them, aiming to go inbetween them and knock 'em down.
Ice ran in as he heard Ghost's call, the cougar snarled at the humans and blocking them from getting back to the seld. As Ghost paced from side to side watching the humans.

*Humans*

The woman gave a shriek as Taijya got her arm. She hadn't noticed the wolf until it was nearly too late. But she was able to jerk back so that the fangs left long furrows in her skin. The got near the trees just in time, pressing their backs against it and leaving their backpacks in front as sheilds, or to the sides as neccessary. They kicked out when their heals were snapped and were very nearly knocked down by Ridged Edge. But the tree saved them from being thrown on the ground, and instead the were knocked harshly against the tree.

Ridged Edge*Ghost*Ice

Ice lept up the tree beside the humans and jumped to the one the humans were up against,and slid down it until he was right above them. Ghost launched her bodice at the woman, her fangs trying to get her anywhere she could. Edge snarled and lundged at the man the same way as Ghost.

Taijya

The duchess licked her fangs as the taste of human blood coverd them, her peds landing on the earth as she watched the others attack. She would leave them be to these humans, it was time she run off to cause havic elsewhere.

Guari

Seeing the humans in distress she lept in front of them. Something with in her heart wouldn't allow these humans humans to be attacked. She lifted her lip showing glossy fangs. She had her hackles raised ready to fend off an attack.

Dakota

Dakota, an akbash x wolf hybrid, was walking away from the canyon when she heard commotion. She sped into a run, and then her eyes met the fighting. She had lived with humans before, and wouldn't let them be killed if she was there. She howled a long, distressed howl that pierced the air. She dashed in front of the attackers, growling mean and angrily. She opened her mouth, revealing many teeth of needle-sharp points. Her brown eyes stared into the attackers, her growls increasing. She was on-guard, and would fight these attackers off. Her size may be a bit smaller, but she had the speed and quickness to beat anybody.

Dakota

I hear most in the wild. She liked humans, and others didn't. She would use her small size and speed to fight anybody off that attacked her. Right now, she only had the noise on her mind.
