*Moose*

The carcass of an old cow moose lay huddled on the edge of the frozen lake, half covered by snow. Her frozen form seems to be a bit thin, but there are no injuries on her or anything else so obvious to suggest why she perished. There was no strange scent about her though, and most importantly, no sign or scent of human around.

Balto

The Wolf / Husky mix slwoly trotted through the trees. He then stopped. He lowered his head to sniff out a scent of some sort. He then slowly raised his head again and sniffed at the air. Yep, he definitly smelling something. He quickly followed the scent. He trotted down the steep hill, and to the fozen lake where the smell was strong. He looked to the side, about 20 yards away from him, was a moose. He was unsure if it was dead or not, so he approached with caution, incase anything should happen.

*Moose*

The scent of death, very faint, came from the moose. No steam of breath rose from her motionless nostrils.

A red fox, not noticing Balto, approached the carcass eagerly. Circling around to the stomach area, the little vulpine began to rip and tear at the hind to get at the good meat beneath it.

Balto

Balto slowly was making his way to the carcass. When he was less than 2 feet away he noticed the little red fox. It was having a little feast. The hybrid slowly walked to the fox, and looked at it. He slowly sniffed in the scent.

Balto

As the hybrid stood there, he suddenly lost interest. He sniffed the air again, and then trotted off over the same hills and past the same trees. He dispeared in less than a minute.
