Alder Whisper
A light silver female, large for one, and built for speed, trotted gracefully along the edge of one side of the lake. She hummed as she went, amber-golden eyes bright and as friendly as the rest of her. Alder Whisper stopped in a shallow, more swayed out spot of the edges of the lake. She looked 'round, orbs and auds searching for other signs of her fellow species.
She lowered her front end, lapping up water. She stopped once her thirst was quenched, sitting back a few feet away. The female looked around, and called out. Her melodious tone had a slight wing to it, as every wolf's voice is different to help them recognize each other. Hers easily showed her sweet temperment, friendly-ness, and trust. She let it waver, brought it up a scale, then down two, and let it fade. The female would wait, hoping for others.
Nightcrawler
The darkly-pelted wolf had traveled from the Tall Grass Prairie where he had been trailing after two humans and making sure they didn't come back to his territory. A bullet wound to his leg made him limp slightly, but the injury had missed his bones and was nothing serious at all. Nightcrawler was about to head back for his home when he heard the fae's sweet voice. His ears perked up at the sound, analyzing it with great interest. There were so many hot-headed or cruel wolves he had met, so it was a welcome relief to hear her pleasant tone.
The wolf hesitated a moment, always being a shy one. Then he gave throat to his own music, which was deeper than her's but still light and melodous. After past experiences, he wanted to make sure this femme wouldn't attack if he came any closer.
Alder Whisper
Alder Whisper caught wind of the male's reply. Slightly eager, she listened, auds tilted forth. She called back her own answer, tone reassuring, calm, yet clear. She couldn't help but smile a little; his tone had been friendly, pleasant. She made sure there was nothing in her howl to offer anything unsure or hesitant, unfriendly or violent.
She pondered what this wolf was like, and judging by his howl, good-hearted. She was glad; normally she wasn't so lucky upon new lands. She rose swiftly, searching the air for his scent. She found small traces, and padded forth, both in direction of scent and sound. She called again, more quietly this time, but staying the same otherwise. She kept looking around, going slowly, as not to either startle him or come upon anything unsuspecting or harmful. Smiling abit all the white, she kept her silvered ears pricked.
Nightcrawler
His tail waved faintly in hope after hearing her second response, and then the third. In return he gave a light 'woof' to reasure that he was still there and seeking her approach. Nightcrawler was, as always, reluctant to make decisive moves. Finally she came into veiw and he lowered his head slightly and took a small step forward. His bright, yellow eyes studied the faea moment before a light smile came to his muzzle and he offered a few words, "Hello." his head was nodded in visual backup of his greeting, "I'm Nightcrawler, of the Parnassian Meadows pack."
Alder Whisper
Alder Whisper smiled in return, but tilted her head to one side a bit. Her ears perked forth even more so, eyes lightening. "I am Alder Whisper. It is nice to meet a friendly fellow of our species. What is your pack like?" she asked, half out of curiosity, half out of wanting to continue the conversation without major silences. Her tone was kind, she made sure, but brief in a way.
The female sat down, calmly learning of the male. He looked as friendly as any other, but seemed more shy; she delt with her reasoning, accepting things how they came. Patiently, Whisper waited for his response.
Nightcrawler
Nightcrawler was more optimistic now after recieving a friendly response. He stayed standind, mostly from his wary attitude that always kept him light on his feet and in a constant look-out for danger. Right now he didn't show this side, though he was on guard for trouble of any kind. "Nice to meet you, too." he responded, then went on to describe his pack, "Our two alphas are very kind; Tornado and Aliyyah. They have two young, Lily and Vivek. Then there are three other faes, Winters Nigh, Verita, and Maverick. And..." he paused for a brief moment, wondering what she might think of his next statement, ".. there are four pit bulls as well; Kivo , Tahirah, Warrior, and Neva. Everyone is good tempered, which is more than can be said about most of the other packs." he pointed out with a faint grin. He did not know that Warrior was dead and Neva was lost to the pack for good.
Alder Whisper
Alder Whisper considered this, then smiled slightly. "If they are all of good nature, it doesn't matter what they are," she mused aloud, softly. She studied him, her smile staying. "You need not to be wary of me, my friend," she continued, a light chuckle accompanying her tones. She paused, choosing her words carefully. "Would there happen to be, by chance, room for another member of your pack?" she asked, careful to keep any major hints and traces of eagerness to be of good use, or curiosity, out of her voice. It seemed to make many suspicious; she didn't quite know why, but accepted it as a method of nature all the same.
Nightcrawler
The was a subtle change in his features, showing just faintly a more hopeful expression. His pack seemed to favor larger prey, especially Musk Oxen. The more wolves the better when hunting such formidable prey. "Yes, Aliyyah and Tornado would certainly accepted more into their pack. A few have gone missing..." Nightcrawler stopped a little too abruptly with his last sentance he thought. He knew he should mention the humans; for they were the biggest threat to their cadre. But first things first. "Would you like to meet them? Kivo and the other younger ones always love to meet newcomers." a grin tugged at his muzzle now, recalling his first encounter with the little pup.
Alder Whisper
Whisper nodded. "Love to," she replied simply, feeling a sense of pride already start to grow for the thought of a home, a place to belong, a place to be useful in. Still, she sensed the hesitating notes in his voice. "What is wrong, Nightcrawler? We know each other but unwell, but I still trust you. As such, you can trust me.. Tell me, what is it?"
Urgency and comfort resided in her voice; she stepped nearer him, afraid, in a matter of meaning, that this thing he was hiding hurt him in some way, or those he cared for. She waited patiently, uncertain, trying to prove herself a good wolf, caring, unspoiled, knowing of life's gifts and hardships alike. She looked at him kindly, though some worry reflected her expression.
Nightcrawler
Still he was hesitant and casted his eyes to the ground for a moment before raising them. Now they shown with an edge of concern and hidden sorrow, "...we have troubles with humans." he mananged to respond after clearing his mind of past events and regaining his voice. Those two-leggers had were the murderer's of his alpha's brother and a source of pain and anxiety to the others. It was true his pack didn't have the worst of human troubles, but they were far from having the least of it. The night-hued wolf offered a smile, trying to discard the troubling topic he brought up. Nighcrawler found a growing sense of trust for Alder Whisper and was quite moved by her caring actions. It was a virtue he highly respected and strove to show that in himself as well. "Do you still wish to meet the pack? Tornado has gotten crafty in dealing with dangers to the pack." he added assuringly.
Alder Whisper
Whisper's eyes shone slightly, the smile already on her maw full with kindness and trust and a bit of excitement and eagerness, though it and her eyes both faltered at his motions and tones, and words of the humans.
Her voice took a more gentle, soft nature, ears going sideways a little in dismay. "Humans are humans.. They are like us, in ways. In one, they are not all the same.. What one would do unto us, there is always someone out there equal that opposes it." She blinked, managing to keep her expression clear of negative feelings, and her gaze upon NightCrawler.
"I already see proof of your alphas' leading skills within you," she said, tones brightening and growing clear. Auds and orbs soon followed, returning to the state they had held only moments before. "I hope they accept me into your pack, as fast as we have accepted each other as friends." Truly, she too, felt she could trust him more and more as time passed; of course, she didn't quite know his feelings. She could only make educated guesses by his postures and words.
Still, she liked him all the same; he was cautious, but kind and proud-that itself was obivous. She felt she was already in a pack, any pack, that was worth being proud of-this wolf reminded her of a purpose in life, life's own methods speaking of careful friendliness, but times of fearless battles. She admired how he appeared to be, open and trusting enough to one barely a stranger with past-pain, and his cautious yet nice actions. Humans didn't quite bother her; they were to be dealt with as other setbacks and problems in life. Her expression continued to be bright, thinking these thoughts.
Nightcrawler
Nightcrawler listening thoughtfully to her ideas of humans. To his surpise, somewhat, he realized she was true on this statement; he had experienced this first hand their different ways but had let the foul acts of a few humans cloud his judgement of their entire race. Here again was such a quality he didn't find in many others. Open-mindedness.
The wolf gave a silent sigh, grateful that she didn't seem apprehensive now about meeting the pack. He was even more grateful that she mentioned them friends, for the found those were hard for him to come across sometimes. "I have no doubt they will take you in as family straight away. We can cross the boarders as long as I am with you to declare you are no threat or trespasser." Nightcrawler gave an encouraging smile and headed for the Central Pack Lands of the Parnassian Meadows territory. His swift, light stride and searching eyes showed his cautious and wary attitude once more as he was on the move, but now at least there was a more positive step in his gate.
Alder Whisper
Alder Whisper matched his swift pace, pride slowly filling her. She felt excited, but slightly nervous. She reviewd all the things she had learned in the past, confident she would present herself well, and that Nightcrawler would be a bonus; he was a good wolf, she felt. Happily, she follwed alongside him, slightly behind and to the right, but alongside him all the same.
