Faidanen, Zaphren, & Tophee
Faidanen had found herself a lair amongst a cluster of boulders and padded it down with soft grass and bits of down from a recent goose dinner. In the early ours of the morning, after a tiresome labor that had kept her up most of the night, the ligeress had given birth to four health cubs. She cleaned each one and curled herself around them, keeping them warm and concealed while she herself dozed off for a much needed rest.
Zaphren, the largest of the cubs, though only a few ounces bigger than his littermates at his young age, had no problem wiggling himself blindly to a teat.
Tophee was destined to be the smallest, even if her ultimate size would be nothing to scoff at, and would weigh in at double her own mother's weight. Such was often the result of her particular lineage. The silky-coated cub mewled a few times before finding her way to her mother's warm belly.
