Ryn

It had taken most of the rest of the day to walk to the Lake. By the time they were coming towards the water's edge, the sun had sunk in the sky and darkness was beginning to fall. Ryn was hungry, and couldn't help but break into a run when he saw the Lake. There was bound to be fish in the vast amount of water. He paused at the water's edge, staring into it with his dark eyes as he hunkered down. Spotting a pike, he timed his jump into the water so that he could snatch up the fish. He emerged from the water a few moments later with the fish in his mouth, that wiggled a few times before going still. Dropping it to the ground, Ryn licked the fur round his mouth, before shaking the water from his thick fur. He pushed the fish towards Farrah, assuming she would be hungry now after their long journey, wagging his tail. "Would you like another, or should I just get one for myself?"

Farrah

Farrah followed Ryn usually staying by him or falling a bit behind. The first thing she did was lap some water up before he caught the pike. She smiled a little. "Catch one for yourself, this will be enough for me." She said, taking a bite of the pike, she did this several more times before sitting down and lowering to her elbows, laying down. She looked up at Ryn as the sun started setting more and it started getting colder she tried not to shiver but couldn't help but shiver as it was cold at night.

Ryn

Wagging his tail, Ryn nosed the fish towards her before turning round and repeating his fish-catching process. After a few minutes, he was emerging from the water once more with another pike in his mouth. He settled down near by her to eat, but noticed that as the sun went down she began to shiver. With the temperature dropping, he decided she might need some of his body warmth. His thick coat was still a little damp, so he made sure to have a good shake first to dry off before he slowly made his way towards her, smiling shyly. He lay beside her, their sides touching, before he sighed and lowered his head onto his paws. His dark eyes looked up at her, and his tail wagged, "I hope you don't mind...it's just that you looked cold, so I thought you could use some extra warmth."

Farrah

Farrah blushed a little, feeling her cheeks go warm. She felt herself pressing into his fur a little, feeling his warmth coming off him. ''Oh... I dont mind at all.'' she answered him. She was still blushing her cheeks hot but the red coming off her ears. She laid her head on her paws and looked over at him. Smiling shyly. Sure she'd met males but they were all house pets like she was. She wasnt anymore after her escape and then Ryn helping her with the collar she was a free dog now. Still thinking when she looked at the ground.

Ryn

As she pressed herself further into his side, Ryn was overcome with a sense of shyness, and became very self-conscious. She seemed happy with him being beside her, and he could tell she was just as nervous and shy as he was right now! While Ryn had been friends with female wolves and dogs before, he had never been this shy and awkward around any of them, not like he was with Farrah. For a wolfdog who was normally friendly and carefree, this new feeling was odd...but that did not mean he disliked it. In fact he found it rather exciting! He had helped her escape her old life as a captive pet by helping her get out from her collar, and now she was free. She said she had been in the wild for a little while, but he felt a sudden urge to protect her anyway, having lived in the wild all his life. He lifted his head, his tall ears perked forward, keeping watch like her own personal guardian. When he noticed she was looking at the ground, he cocked his head in curiosity, "What are you thinking about?" he whispered warmly. His fluffy tail skimmed over the grass as it wagged, and his dark eyes were fixed on her, and only her.

Farrah

Farrah was thinking of all she'd been through in her past. When she was with her birth mother she remembered her mom smelling like the trees and the wild. But soon the smells of a house came to mind right before she could see. Was her mom living in the wild? Did she give her up because of it? Was the mom she had stayed with not her real mother? All these questions went through her head as she thought. Then it was to when she could walk and see, she remembered sitting in the front yard and seeing a Alaskan malamute that looked exactly like her. Leading her to her suspicions now. When he asked her what she was thinking about she looked up at him and lifted her head. "Well, my past mostly. It makes no sense to me." she whispered a little. Without him having to ask she went on. "I was thinking back before I could see, my mom, she smelled of the wild and then the next day I remembered smelling humans. Well it led me to think, what if I wasn't born in a home what if I was born in the wilderness?"

Ryn

Her answer surprised him, and his ears perked forward in interest as he listened to her intently. His dark eyes were serene and thoughtful, and as he pondered what she was saying, his head tilted a little to the side. This was a serious subject, and he took a few moments to think about what he was saying before answering, because he didn't want to answer lightly. "Did your mom live with you in the home with the humans? Did she ever mention anything about the wild?" Ryn was a little confused, and wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea of living with humans - his muzzle wrinkled a little in dislike when he said the word 'humans' - but he really did want to help her with what must have been an upsetting thing to think about...he couldn't imagine what it would be like to think that something you had always thought might be wrong, especially something so important as family.

Farrah

Farrah shrugged. "A female did that had me and my siblings believing that she was our mom but I don't think she is. She had a total different scent then the other female I'd been with, she didn't have the scent of milk, at all." Farrah kept thinking, her eyes filled with question. Still she wanted to know more but she decided she might as well let it go if she couldn't. She looked at Ryn then at the lake, it was probably freezing by now. She looked at her paws, still thinking.

Ryn

Ryn's ears folded back against his head as the listened, clearly confused and upset on her behalf. He sympathised with her, and gently touched his muzzle to her side to show his support for her. "Is there no way you could find out? Could you not find her and ask her?" He didn't want her to go back to the humans on her own in case she got captured, but if she needed answers then he would go with her to keep her safe.

Farrah

Farrah shook her head. "Ive been to so many homes I don't know where the first is. Plus I don't want to go back and find out. To risky" she said. She laid her head on her paws. Looking at him. She smiled a little. Breathing in and then out heavily. As like a sigh. "Thanks Ryn, for everything today." she licked his cheek in a friendly way. Her tail wagged a little and she looked up at the moon.
