Avery Kendall

On the way to the lake, Avery had picked up a quite a few pieces of wood. She had found many decently sized sticks that would be perfect to start a fire with. Some warmth sounded nice right about now.

Her baby blue eyes studied the area around them. It didn't take long before the lake came into view, causing her face to light up. "Oh, there it is!" she stated as she looked on ahead. She was excited to finally settle down and get this fire going. This place is lovely... she thought as she kneeled down and placed her pile of sticks down on the ground near the water. She then straightened and surveyed the land once again. "This is a lovely spot," she spoke aloud, repeating her thoughts from seconds earlier. She took a hair piece from about her wrist and pulled her hair back into one of her characteristic baby ponytails before readjusting her scarf around her neck. She looked at Jake and gave a smile.

Jake Vincent

Jake walked on collecting decent sized wood for the fire. Soon they were there.

He nodded as he placed his wood down ''Very lovely indeed'' he said. He collected some rocks and laid then in a circle. He pulled out a lighter he kept in hand when he needed it. He placed wood in the circle and some ferns. He lighted his lighter and light the ferns. He sat back poking it with a long stick to keep it going. He looked at Avery. ''Spend the night here or at the stalls?'' he asked smiling.

Avery made it a point to breathe in the crisp air before she lowered to the ground and folded her legs. Eager to feel the heat, she sat about a foot from where the fire was lit. She watched as Jake lit the flame and would then poke at it. "Well, I'm not really prepared to stay out here," she stated, noting that she didn't have a sleeping bag or anything like that. No matter what was decided upon she would be happy either way. She looked at Jake after being captivated by the flames. "What do you think we should do?" she asked him in return, realizing that the sky seemed to be getting dimmer.

After the flames were up and you could see all around he stopped poking it. Every now and then he would add a piece of wood. ''What should we do? How about truth or dare? Its one of the gamed me and my brothers and sisters played out her.'' he said. Looking at her as he smiled. He felt warm now. He waited for her answer

Avery Kendall

Avery continued to watch the flames as they grew higher and hotter than before. She relished in the heat and held her hands out to the flickering light. It was mesmerizing. She was snapped out of her little trance by Jake's voice. She looked at him. "Sure," she agreed as she folded her hands in her lap. She hadn't played a game in a long time, let alone one around a bonfire.

He nodded ''ok, you start. Truth or Dare?'' he asked. If she picked dare he had a good one. If she picked Truth he would have to think. He smiled as he watched the flames listening for her voice.

Avery Kendall

Avery wasn't really the daring kind but she figured it couldn't be that bad. "Hm, how about dare?" she said with every once of certainty in her voice that she could muster. She looked at him through the flickering flames with a smile, awaiting his reply. She was eager to find out what he would dare.

Jake Vincent

He thought for a moment ''I dare you to.....jump in the lake. Anyway you want'' he said smiling. He watched her closely

Avery Kendall

Avery looked at him in disbelief. He wanted her to jump into the water? It was freezing out! Or at least it would be if she got wet. She gave a light sigh and stood, preparing to perform this task anyway. It was the game, after all.

She stepped up to the lake with a feigned look of determination before suddenly springing into the water. She looked like a rabbit and then like a fish. When she hit the water she emitted a squeal. Just as she expected, it was cold! She immediately got back out of the water and clammored to her spot by the fire. Her hair had managed to not get too wet though as she pulled it back earlier. Her clothes on the other hand were soaked. "Fun fun," she said as she began shivering. She hovered over the fire as best as she could. "You're turn, now truth or dare?" she stated, looking at him. Although she was freezing, she still found it quite amusing.

Jake Vincent

He watched and looked at her. He had not expected her to do it.

''Here'' he said and moved closer to her. He wrapped his arms around her, trying to help her get warm. ''Uh Dare'' he said smiling. He sat by her and listened.

Avery Kendall

Avery couldn't believe she'd done it either. She did though and there was no going back now. She was a bit startled when he wrapped his arms around her but didn't object.

When he said dare, she looked around. She needed something to dare him... Ah! With a small smile, she reached out and picked up a small green leaf. It seemed to be turning a bit brown but other than that it seemed quite crisp. "I dare you to eat this," she said with a chuckle. Mmm, tasty indeed.

He looked at it. ''Ok,'' he said. He took the small green leaf and stuck it in his mouth. Resisting to spit it out he swallowed it. He resisted the urge to barf after and looked at her. ''Ok, I ate it. Didnt like it but I ate it'' he laughed. He looked at her ''truth or dare?'' he asked smiling

Avery watched him closely as he placed the leaf in his mouth. She was fighting the urge to just start laughing but held it back, only letting a little chuckle slip. He swallowed it and she smiled. "Didn't expect you to like it," she said with another chuckle and a grin.

When he asked her this time she thought for a moment. "Truth," she stated confidently. Couldn't put her into a worse state than what she was in now.

He laughed and thought "what do you think of me?" He asked. He was a bit anxious for this was one of the best times he had had with Eucharist pretty girl. He waited s bit anxious to know what she thought of him. He smiled and waited

Avery looked at Jake as she awaited his question. When he finally said it, she titled her head to the side just a bit. So, what did she think of him? It didn't take her long to come up with something, although she hesitated for a moment. "You know, I think you're a pretty nice guy," she said with a smile, but wouldn't add any more. She really did like him and knew that he must think the same-- at least a little. After all, what was that he had said back at the corral?

Giving a chuckle, she proposed the next round. "Truth or dare?" she asked him as she felt her sleeves. Her clothes were starting to dry off a bit from that leap into the lake.

He smiled. ''Thats what I go for and I am'' he said. He thought for a moment when she started the next round. ''Truth'' he said and looked at the fire. He added another piece of wood and poked it.

Avery Kendall

Avery thought for a moment. Then she smiled. "Now that we know what I think, what do you think about me?" she asked him. She meant the question to come out casually but that wasn't the case. Her voice was rather light and airy; somewhat playful even. She continued to look at him with a smile as she awaited his answer. She was hopeful even that she knew partly of what his answer may be. She did like him, even if she didn't flat out say it in her own answer. Even though they had recently met, in a way she hoped that he returned that feeling.

He took a minute to sum up words. He knew his answer but had to put it into words. He looked at her ''I think your one of the best, prettiest girls Ive met and I hope we continue to talk and learn more about each other.'' his voice had of a some what, like to it. As though he had wanted to say that when they went out riding. He smiled. ''Its true'' he said and looked at the fire ''Truth or dare?'' he said looking back at her

Avery felt nothing short of her heart flutter when he gave his answer. She was a bit embarrassed despite already having the idea of what he would say. Her face flushed for a second, taking on a more pink-red tone and she hoped he hadn't noticed. She didn't know why she was reacting this way, after all she typically managed to keep her cool. She then beamed a wide smile before going on to choose. "Truth," she replied in a rather happy voice, as she outstretched her arms towards the flames.

He thought for a moment and looked at her ''Where did you come from?'' he asked. Looking at the fire and at her as she stretched her arms out. He smiled and waited her answer. He laughed a little at a thought he had.

Avery almost breathed a sigh of relief at his next question. This is simple... she thought to herself. "I came from a little town not far from here. One of those places where you're likely to pick out the newcomers and all," she said with a giggle. She remembered that old little town. Her grandmother's little shop where she would always stop for a bite to eat. She let a small smile stretch across her face at the memories. She had been here for barely a week and already she was reminiscing like this. "Truth or dare?" she then went on to say and waited for his response.

He nodded and thought ''Dare'' he said. He smiled, he would do most anything. He had to. Of course he was one that would really do anything for a girl unless he just didnt like the girl. He liked her, didnt want to express it in words though. Maybe a kiss or two to explain what he felt about her.

Avery took a bit to think. She was honestly running out of ideas already. She looked into the flames with an absentminded smile although it was obvious she was in thought. She then looked to Jake. "I dare you to drink the lake water," she said with a smirk. She wasn't sure what else to come up with. She watched him intently, wondering whether or not he would really follow through with it. She probably wouldn't. She'd jump into the water

He looked at her like she was crazy. He took a moment to gather up all his nerves. He looked at her ''Alright'' he said. Going over to the lake he took a handful and drank it up. Surprisingly he didnt make any reflex's or anything. He just resisted to spit it out. He didnt know what had been in there and he didnt want to know. He came over resisting to throw up now that the taste had been stuck in his mouth now. He looked at her. ''Want to go back to the stables?'' he asked. There he would at least get fresh water and a mint or three or possibly four. He waited for a response.

Avery simply tilted her head and gave a smile when he looked at her. She then watched closely as he went to the lake. She saw him take the handful and then drink it. She was quite surprised that he did it but was also very pleased. Finally he came back over and she nodded at his question. "Sounds good to me," she stated with yet another chuckle. She figured the water wasn't very tasty. Besides some fresh water, as she herself was quite thirsty, maybe she could find a towel or blanket somewhere to finish drying off.
