Alex

Alex walks to the edge of the lake, where she takes a quick drink and then spots a shark. Watching it carefully, she pounces. The water around the shark tuns red with blood and Alex flops the dead shark onto land. Time for a feast. Licking her chops, Alex digs in, but she cannot finish it all. She buries it under her, concealing the fact that she has broken the ground well, and lays down to take a snooze. It isn't like she has a pack to get back to.

Akki

Starfire crawled through the bushes her tail flicked as she tried catching a bug she was chasing.

Alex

Alex wakes up from her snooze dazed. It was not NEARLY as long as she wanted it to be. Then she notices the gray wolf standing about a yard away. "Hi, I'm Alex. Who are you?" Her tail sways gracefully.

Akki

Starfire lost her focus and sprung up in surprise as she heard a voice. She quickly looked around and saw another wolf. "Hi, I am Starfire." She said quickly.

Alex

"Oh okay. Uhhhhhh, are you hungry?"

Akki

"Uh, no thanks." Starfire answered.

Alex

"Okay. If you are, tell me. I have some leftovers from about an hour ago buried under me." She pats the ground with one of her paws. "Its shark. So, what are you doing out here?"

Starfire

"A...shark?" Starfire made a strange look. "I never tried eating a shark before." She said.

Alex

"Really? Hm. Would you like to try some?" Alex smiles.

Starfire

Starfire perked her ears up and smiled. "Yes please."

Alex

"Okay." Alex steps back and starts digging quickly. Soon she has reached half of a huge shark! She pulls it out of her hole ad pushes it a little toward Starfire. "Here ya go."

Starfire

"Thank you." Starfire said and opened her mouth and took a large chunk of the shark and ate it then got a weird look on her face. "Tastes like... water." She said and laughed quietly.

Alex

Alex barks loudly in a large rumble of laughter. "That's alright." She laughs again. Alex then sprints over to the lake and pounces on a large pike, big enough for one. "Here, you will like this better. Most do, pike are tastier." Alex smiles and drops the pike at Starfire's paws.

Starfire

Starfire tilted her head then ate the pike. "Tastes better then the shark." She said and sat down.

Alex

"I knew it would." Alex smiles and eats the rest of her shark and looks up at the darkening sky. "We should go to sleep. It gets cold here at night." Alex says and cuddles up to Starfire. She then starts to drift off to sleep.

Starfire

"Yeah." Starfire lay down and closed her eyes.

Starfire

Starfire blinked open her eyes and lifted her head. The lake looked like it sparkled as the sun shined down on it.

Alex

Alex opens her eyes and yawns, realizing that Starfire is still here. "Does this mean we are friends now?" Alex asks. "I have never had a friend before." Alex says and then sprints to the lake to catch two pike, one for her and one for Starfire.

Starfire

"Yes." Starfire said as she stood up and blinked.

Alex

Alex, who had been walking back to Starfire, stopped midstep, about 5 feet away from Starfire and dropped the pike. "Really?" Alex runs around in circles and leaps up and down, giddy with happiness and amazement.

Starfire

Starfire barked with laughter. "Yep." She said as she ate the pike.

Alex

Alex, suddenly getting a great idea sprints to the lake, grabs a mouthful of water, sprints back to Starfire, and spits the WHOLE mouthful of water in her face before Starfire even knows what is happening.

Starfire

Starfire shook the water off. "I'll get you for that!" She yelled before rushing over to the lake.

Alex

"Uh oh, I better think fast!" Alex thinks to herself. Knowing she is faster than Starfire, she sprints to the lake and jumps on top of her, surprising Starfire, then grabs another mouthful of lake water and, again, spits it in Starfire's face. "Ha!!!" She barks with laughter at Starfire's wet muzzle.

Starfire

Starfire glared at Alex. "Ok, no more miss... er... nice wolf." She said grabbing a huge mouth of water and looked at Alex and she spit out the water at her then quickly grabbed another mouth of water and spit it out at her again.

Alex

Alex gasps. "You shouldn't have done that!" Alex barks and jumps on top of Starfire, playfully wrestling her to the ground.

Starfire

"Get off me!" Starfire barked playfully, then she played dead.

Alex

"Yeah right!" Alex barks, and then licks Starfire's face ALL over, covering her face in slobber.

Starfire

"EW!" Starfire barked then pushed off Alex.

Alex

"Hee Hee!!!" Alex roared with laughter.

Starfire

"I'll get you for that!" Starfire barked.

Alex

"Suuuuuuure, you will!" Alex barks, then yelps with pain and surprise as another wolf, not Starfire, leaps upon her and starts biting and scrathing her furiously. "Starfire, helppppppppp!"

Starfire

Starfire jumped up and ran forward attacking the other wolf.

Alex

Alex can feel herself slipping into unconsiousness.... She just hopes Starfire will defeat the intruder.

Starfire

Starfire slammed the other wolf to the ground with a growl. "Who are you?!" She snarled.

Alex

Alex knows she has blacked out, but hears the conversation. Starfire is right, who is that wolf?

Starfire

The other wolf growled. "IF you must know... I am Bone." He growled.

Starfire growled. "Why are you here?"

Alex

Alex feels herself drifting...... drifting.....

Starfire

Bone didn't answer.

Starfire looked at Alex and whimpered then looked at Bone and growled. "Answer already!"

Alex

Something must be done soon, Alex is losing a fierce amount of blood...

Starfire

Starfire looked at Alex again and whimpered again. She looked around quickly, thinking of what to do. She stood up and ran over to the lake and grabbed a mouth of water. She ran back over to Alex and spit the water out on the wound to see if it would make it stop bleeding.

Alex

Alex wakes up, yelping. "Owwwwww! It stings! PRESSURE! I NEED PRESSURE!" It keeps bleeding. "Look out behind you!" Alex shouts as Bone leaps towards Starfire.

Starfire

Starfire quickly moved her back leg before Bone managed to grab it. "Get away!" She yelled at him before lunging at him.

Bone snarled then grabbed Starfires neck but he didn't stay there for long...

Starfire threw Bone across the ground with a growl.

Alex

Alex, ignoring the slight pain in her side from the wound that had now stopped bleeding, sprints toward where Bone and Starfire are battling. Before Bone realizes that Alex has gotten up she lunges, going in for the death blow. Bone falls to the ground where a puddle starts to form, the blood leaking from his neck to the cold ground below him. "Are you alright?" Alex asks Starfire, her voice concerned.

Starfire

"Other then the large cut on my neck... yeah." Starfire answered, blood dripped from her neck.

Alex

Alex has to think fast, or Starfire will die. "Lay down." Alex commands. She has a plan.

Starfire

Starfire looked puzzled. "I am not- ah never mind." She said as she laid on the ground.

Alex

Alex licks Starfire's wound. "There." Alex says, knowing that will help, and also that Starfire could never reach that cut to what she just did. Alex then gives Starfire's face a big, wet, lick and sits on her haunches smiling and wagging her tail.

Starfire

Starfire blinked. "Can I stand up now?"

Alex

"Yeah." Alex chuckles.

Starfire

Starfire stood up, her tail wagged. She then tackled Alex playfully.

Alex

Alex and Starfire wrestle playfully. Then Alex spots something and whispers to Starfire "Do not speak. A whole pack of wolves is behind the swamp grass, they must be Bone's. They are to the right. Do NOT look at them. Continue wrestling. On the count of three we will both run north, to The Canyon. They will not know what is happening and before they figure it out we will be out of sight. They will not follow us. I hope."

Starfire

"Uh... we should run now... they just noticed Bone..." Starfire whispered.

Alex

"3.....2......1.....GO!" Alex whispers.
