Ultair & Others

Skittish as he was, Ultair was still a dutiful stallion, and remained posted at the edge of the lake while the others indulged in a bit of an early spring swim. Every now and then, the chocolaty coated horse would lower his head to sip at the water, or to munch on some new shoots of green sprouting up. Then his head would be up again, eyes scanning the surroundings, ears swiveling this way and that to sounds, and nares keeping a tab on the wind.

Icefell and Glaze were knee deep in the cool water, while their growing offspring were having a game of chase through the shallows. Innops was currently 'it', and powering through the water in attempt to catch Lysismach.

Asher

Asher stood near the edge as well. He watched the mares wondering if any were breedable yet. His gaze glanced to the foals, and his look softened with a smile before turning to look at the other members. Samil was waded out to cool off.

Dreamscape and Lamia stood near the other mares watching the children.

Alydar and Prince were near Innops and Lysismach. "Mind if we play, too,"they asked the other two.

Ultair & Others

Of the mares in the group, Icefell, Glaze, and Blackberry were all ready to breed again, though Icefell was being a little stand offish with the males lately. She'd gladly integrated in with the rest of the herd, chatting and getting herself familiar with the other mares, but the males... she was still trying to judge them.

Innops stopped, her tail looking lanky and dark as it was soaked with water, "The more the merrier! But..." The young mare, who was close to breeding age herself, but still very immature and young at heart, tossed her head playfully, "...you'd better run, because I'm it!"

Lysis nickered and took off galloping again as Innops rushed forward, trying to nip the nearest horse she could reach and tag them.

Giving his hoof a quick stomp, Ultair shooed away a pesky fly from his hide, only to find the biting insect landing on his leg a second later to bite him again. The stallion raised his hoof for another stomp when a certain scent hit his nostrils... humans!

Samil

Samil smelled the humans as well. With a loud snort he alerted Asher. "Ultair take the others to that branch of trees down there, NOW,"he said voice making sure there was no argument.

Dreamscape and Lamia waited for Ultair to lead them away with their two foals. They were going to follow them.

Asher and Samil stayed at the water's egde knowing the humans would spot them first. Asher and Samil had escaped them plenty of times before, and they could do it again. They stood out in the open hoping to distract the humans from Ultair and the others. If Ultair and the others listened they should be able to make it to the tree in plenty of time before the humans came in sight.

Ultair & Others

Ultair had no troubles following orders - he was thankful enough that Samil and Asher had allowed him to stay in the heard in the first place, and he was going to do everything he could to prove himself to them. "Come on, to those trees there! Polemos, stay with your siblings!" Ultair ordered, powering through the waters as he rounded up behind the group of mares and youngsters.

Icefell charged out of the lake, followed closely by Blackberry and Glaze. With their offspring at heel, the entire group galloped towards the relative safety of the nearby trees, melting into the dense shrubbery and branches that were just starting to fill out with new growth for spring.

Two humans on horseback came into view about two minutes after this, each having a coil of rope slung over their shoulders. One of the men pointed towards Asher and Samil, and after a brief discussion, the two riders urged their steeds into a swift gallop towards the stallions.

Asher

Asher watched his group leave next to Samil. Once they were gone they turned to see the humans approaching. A wicked grin filled his face as he rememberd other times. "Ready for a party, Sam,"he called his companion with a smirk.

Returing the smirk Samil's only answer was to gallop strait at the on comming horseman. When he came in rope distance he swirved to the right while Asher running strait at the horseman. The reason for this is they expected the man to try to rope Samil. If so than they be to distracted, and by the time they realized it would be to late to stop. Asher was going to bull doze right into the two horses disturbing the man in their saddles. They waited to see what the riders would than too.

"You and your filthy masters should of stayed home,"Asher called to the horses even if they were mares.
