Nhosh, Rift, & Scraff
Three stags moved a few yards from shore, their senses alert. All three were in the peak of health, with branching, velvet-covered antlers. The first two were the largest, being Red Deer. The last was a white-tail.
The three spaced apart a little, looking this way and that as they tried to track down Prisoner and Legend.
SPIRIT
The Kiger mustang had been wandering aimlessly, alone for many days. It was driving him crazy, with trying to find someone to interact with. Was anyone near? Of course not; it seemed everyone had disappeared. And even if he had found someone, they would probably have something to do. He would try his luck with this, though. It couldn't be too hard to start a conversation with another animal.
Spirit trotted over the ground lightly, trying to make as little noise as possible. If he was going to talk to someone, he wanted to go to them instead of them coming to him. It was very startling when someone just appeared out of the blue. He had no reason to fear much, though, since he could outrun most other animals around here. And other horses shouldn't be a problem.
His nares flared wide as he caught a scent; unknown, and rather strange. Deer? One was familier, but the other two were ones that he had no clue about. He had only ever smelled the usual whitetails and blacktails, along with a few mule deer here and there. Growing curious, and also having a screaming want to use his vocals for once, he turned and started in their direction. Soon enough, he came upon the group. Three of them, all looking healthy. Well Spirit was healthy as well; maybe even healthier, if it would be at all possible. His buckskin pelt gleamed brightly in the sunlight, and his form was all nice and clean. There wasn't a single knot or burr in his mane, tail, or short fur. He was feeling especially well today, being all lively and perky.
He slowed as he neared them, auds flickering in their direction; otherwise, pricking. He snorted lightly and stopped his strong and slender limbs, bringing his frame to a halt altogether. "Hey!" he greeted, bobbing his dial up and down a bit as he studdied them, "I'm Spirit... Who're you?" he asked, auds now freely swiveling as he took in their scents. His eyes then glanced to the lake, and his tongue suddenly felt dry, screaming to taste the cool liquid. He ignored it the best he could, but licked at his mouth as he turned his head to look back at the group, awaiting a reply.
Nhosh, Rift, & Scraff
As Nhosh stopped, the other two stags came quickly to stand on either side of them. Although this stranger seemed friendly enough, some not-so-friendly equines had been encountered in the past.
"Hail." The red deer replied, giving his herd's formal 'greeting' and nodding his sword-like antlers to Spirit. "I'm Nhosh, lead Stag of the Almuit Rune Herd. Also known as the Oak Priaire Herd. This is Rift," He continued, nodding to the other red deer to his left, one which had a much darker face and pelt than his own. "And this is Scraff." Now nodding to his right, where the white-tail stood, slightly dwarft by his two taller companions. The introduced deer each nodded to Spirit as their names were given.
"By any chance, have you seen a young filly and fawn wondering together?" He feared the worst for them both, seeing as how their friend -his son- had met his end at the jaws of a wolf. It was the second fawn this summer to be taken by predators.
