Hydras & Pack

Hydras loped in, keeping her head at shoulder level while her banner was flung high in the air. Her nose twitched and her ears swiveled, picking up any possible signs of prey.

Skeil traveled slightly to the side of the alpha, doing her best to track prey. Her senses weren't as good at this kind of thing, but she was still useful.

Yersinia stayed close to her aunt's other side, mirroring her actions.

Bullet stayed behind the three, knowing his place in the pack. His banner hung loosely behind him as he traveled and swayed in step with his gait.

Sasha*Sequioa*Fly*Flame*Jake

Silently the other canines padded in heads held low.

Near the back was Sasha limping along with her broken leg. Even with the limp she was silent for that was one of the only things she was truly good at.

Flame the rottweiler was near the front glancing back now and again to watch his 'sister'.

Sequioa was in front of Sasha growling softly. She wasnt a babysitter and she was going to get that through Hydras's head sooner or later. Scenting the air the odd hybrid searched for a something to chase and kill remembering the horse they had once almost taken down.

The hyper overactive Fly wasnt really in the 'line' He was bouncing this way and that making sure to keep at least slightly quiet

Gold colored male trotted in last watching everything through keen yellow eyes. He knew what to do and he knew exactly where to go. His 'hunting partner' was Narsia. HE seemed to work best with her although he was uncertain why.

Ninaki, Kenyon, & Pirqua

Ninaki moved past Bullet and the others to take up a spot by himself, directly behind Hydras. He still carried the look of sullen misery, but he focused on the hunt at hand.

Kenyon moved nearer to Fly, and attempted to keep up with the hyper canine's movements. His bulky tail swayed in the air and his gleaming eyes showed keen delight in the hunt.

A shadow flickered across the ground, crossing over the pack and swinging to the side. Pirqua used her sharp eyes to look for prey.

Satan

The wolf trotted after the pack, as he was still a newcomer he didn't know how they would react to him. He watched the others but felt nothing, only adrenaline for the hunt at hand. His senses were aletr and he was doing his best to track prey. He wanted them to accept him as one of them by doing his best at this hunt. Still, he remained silent.

*Red Deer*

Near the western edge of the lake, where an expanse of meadow cut into the otherwise densely wooded area, a group of deer could be found. There were two red deer stags, both of impressive size with 12-point antlers and equal weight. A group of five hinds stood a little ways off to the side, grazing idly and watching the battle at hand.

The two stags were stalking parallel to each other, roaring and shaking their mighty heads to try and scare the other away.

Hydras, Skeil, Yersinia, & Bullet

Hydras brought the pack along the edge of the lake, knowing many game trails led to the large water source. And it wasn't long until the roar of fighting stags came to her ears. Instantly the alpha stopped and threw up her head. The fighting deer could be very dangerous, but she felt confident that her pack could handle the task. Dropping her head into the stalking position, Hydras picked up her speed and moved silently into the thick brush. She continued on until she came to the edge of the meadow. There she stood still and waited for the others to gather around. She didn't just want to charge in and risk anyone getting gorged or trampled.

Skeil's tail began to quiver as she tried to stop it from wagging. She moved quickly after Hydras and then stopped beside her near the meadow. There she eyed the fighting deer and the group of hinds feeding nearby. Already, her mouth began to water.

Yersinia fell back a little ways, choosing to travel beside Sequioa. "So, how's the babysitting going?" The sassy hybrid rolled her eyes and gave a hauty laugh. But her words were pure sarcasm, for she knew that neither she or Sequioa had done what Hydras asked. Yersinia's attitude had grown very 'prissy', for lack of better words. And although she dared not speak against her aunt, Yersinia wasn't above being cheeky to everyone else. Well, except for Sequioa now, whom Yersinia had choosen to befriend above everyone else. As she waited for a response, the lithe little hybrid took her pace a few yards from Hydras and peered casually towards the deer.

Bullet flicked his bushy tail against Sasha as a comforting gesture. His head dipped down near hers and his eyes were filled with concern. "You feeling well enough to hunt?" The hybrid glanced wincingly to her broken leg before looking to her eyes. Following the lead of the others, he stopped near Skeil to wait for orders. Skeil was the only female in the pack, besides Sasha of course, that Bullet could feel 'safe' around. Or in other words, not fear about getting dominated or chastised by.

Aaka

Yellow eyes watched all of the pack scatter and begin the hunt. She only watched not making a sound as she did. Her heart was breaking and she didnt know why. Closing her eyes against tears she listened to the stags roar and wished she could feel that rage again.

Hes gone and never coming back

She almost let out a sob against that thought. Her Little Shadow wasnt coming back. She knew it was all her fault...Everything was her fault. She stood and silently trotted away fading back into the mists back into her own personal hell to torment herself over what was going on....

The pain inside just wont go away

Hydras & Pack

A sharp, peircing whistle split through the air as a young peregrine falcon settled down in a nearby tree.

Hydras pulled her head up, gazing out towards the distance figure resting on an oak bough. It was Mesa. A subtle flick of her wing told the alpha which way to look. Turning her eyes, she spotted the vanishing figure of her most trusted ally. Unable to get her attention with any noise, and not able to leave her pack at the moment, Hydras looked swiftly back to Mesa and nodded towards Aaka.

The simple, silent communications worked brilliantly. Mesa took to the sky again and swooped down through the trees and out of sight. Pulling higher then, she began to circle and see if Aaka was still in the area.

Satan

He came round to stand next to Bullet and heard his words to Sasha. He didn't mean to sound intrusivebut agreed with Bullet, she shouldn't hunt with a broken leg.

Sasha, don't hunt. Its's not worth you damaging your leg even more.

He then turned his attention back to the hunt. His stomach growled as he waited patiently for Hydras's orders.

Ninaki, Kenyon, & Pirqua

Ninaki positioned himself to the very far right of everyone and looked to his alpha.

Kenyon nudged Fly, "Ever hear deer make such a noise?!?" His eyes were wide with wonder and excitement. He found the collie's hyper attitude rather contagious. But being obidient to his aunt, Kenyon took his place to the far left of the group.

Pirqua pulled high into the air so that she looked insignificantly small to everyone else. Her keen eyes could see over a mile though, so this extreme hieght allowed her to view the deer and wolves below with ease, while all but masking her presence to them.

Hydras & Pack

Most of her pack was here, so Hydras addressed them in a whispering but powerful voice, "Ninaki, Kenyon, you two come up along the far sides of the herd." Now she looked to Fly and Yersinia, who had the the smaller, lither type bodies, "Yersinia and Fly, do your best to worry and harass the stags. Make them panic, and keep them away from the rest of us." The alpha looked to Flame, Satan, and Sequioa. "You four can join me in taking down the targeted prey. We will hit the hinds and go for the easiest one. But keep your eyes open; if more than one looks catchable, we can split into teams and take them on. For the rest; help out where it's needed."

With the orders dished out, Hydras turned back to the meadow. Her body tensed and her ears strained forward. Then with a burst of energy, she sprung into the clearing and rushed straight for the group of hinds. She watched for their reactions to tell her which might be the most likely target.

Yersinia cast a slightly annoyed look to Fly, but she didn't complain. Bounding into action as soon as her aunt did, the hybrid flung herself into the meadow. She charged for the fighting stags, barking and snarling as she did. But Yersinia dared not get too close to them. She just wanted their attention.

Skeil, having no particular orders, rushed into the meadow after Hydras. She couldn't keep up with the longer-legs of her alpha, but her strong grip could prove useful for slowing down prey if she was able to catch up to them.

Bullet also got no special orders, and figured it was because Hydras knew he wanted to be wish Sasha. He set out at a steady pace, but paused to see how the doberman would match his gait. He feared for her safety.

Sasha

Sasha glanced from Bullet to Satan then sighed. "Alright boys I will sit this hunt out." So saying she went and layed down in the thicket watching the scene play out.

Fly yipped and tore after Yersina and raced around the stags yipping and barking not yet bothering with the snarls. He danced around Yersinia with a laugh and barked louder snapping at one of the stags.

Flame and Sequioa both nodded and followed Hydras Flame going around to the other side standing near Skeil. He was better at making noise and if he could get a good grip holding it. His bulky body was also good at slowing down any that tried to tear away.

Jake having no particular orders followed Ninaki careful to keep a good distance between them so that he didnt get in the way.

Satan

The brute nodded at Hydras before propelling himself forward after the Alphess. His strong limbs kept a resonably fast pace and his optics and ears were alert for any sounds or signs of prey. He followed Sequioa, snarling, and ready to leap at vunarable prey.

Ninaki, Kenyon, & Pirqua

Ninaki tore across the ground with his head pressed forward sharply and his tail fluttering like a flag behind him. He made his way along the far side of the group of hinds, ready to try and corral them back to the pack if at all possible, or at least try to cut one off if it looked like an easy catch.

Kenyon went wide around the opposite side, mimicking his father's example.

Pirqua dove closer to the earth and circled about.

*Red Deer*

An alarm bark was sent up as movement was detected in the brush. The hinds froze a second before they saw the pack rush into the field. Wheeling around, the group of deer began to speed away from the advancing pack. They seemed pretty well in health at the start, but perhaps some chasing might reveal a weakness.

The stags had just locked antlers when the call went up. Pulling away from each other, they were alarmed to see two hybrids rushing towards them. Snorting, one of the stags made a run towards the harem, but found Yersinia and Fly in his way. Bellowing angrily, the large deer swung his head down, scything three-foot antlers through the air and trying to gouge the two attackers.

The second stag hesitated, for this wasn't exactly his harem. He was in the middle of fighting for it. But he decided to use the opportunity to his advantage. The stag sprinted towards the fleeing hinds and tried to seperate two or three of them from the main group and lead them away. While he ran, his hind legs were kicked out to ward off any attackers from behind, while his antlers were lowered for defense in the front.

Fly

Fly tore after the stag that tried to take a few of the hinds. He let up a shrill bark and leaped hard trying to grab and hang on to the large stag and slow it down until someone could help him.

Seeing Fly leaping Sequioa snarled and took off in the other direction heading to help the small border collie. She came around the stag to his right side and leaped hard hoping to either throw him off or just slow him down in his flight.

Sasha stood on the side lines a loud bark coming from her throat as she saw The hinds running away. Growling softly she cursed herself for her broken leg uncaring that it hadnt been her fault in the first place.

Flame tore after the hinds with Jake at his side. They both ran hard the large rottweiler and the gold streak next to him chasing the hinds searching for aany weakness's in the herd.

Satan

Spying the stags being taken care of he turned his attention to the hinds. So far he couldn't see a weakness but he continued to chase and snap at them, trying to single one out or chase a few away and attack.

Hydras, Skeil, Yersinia, & Bullet

Hydras rushed for the nearest hind, propelling herself in large bounds to try and get closer.

Skeil lagged behind still, but was ready to help the pack once a deer was slowed down. She stayed as close to Hydras as she could.

Yersinia ran circles around the other stag, rushing in close to his sides before leaping away again. She kept up an insecent barking.

Bullet made a rush for the stag that was coming towards the herd. He attempted to spring at it's left side and gash the flesh with his powerful canines.

Ninaki & Kenyon

The two wolves closed in around the hind as best they could, trying to keep them from splitting off so that the rest of the pack could catch one.

*Red Deer*

The stag barked sharply as Fly manage to bite him. Bucking, he kicked the collie off and turned sharply to the side. But then he was hit by Sequioa and staggered, nearly falling. Bucking once more, he pulled himself free and charged away just before Bullet could tag him. Bleeding and quite alarmed, the deer changed his mind about trying to steal some hinds. Instead, he began running away swiftly.

The other stag swung around, this way and that, bellowing and stamping in frustration as Yersinia circled about him. He kicked at her and tried to catch her with his antlers. This was his harem, and he wasn't going to just leave them so easily. But at least he was occupied for the moment.

The hinds tried to dart as a group to the left, but found Ninaki rushing up along the side. The right was blocked as well. The lead hind drove straight on, knowing she could at least out run these predators. But there was one hind who was not so quick as the others, and began to get separated from the group as they ran faster. She struggled to keep up, but she was sick with pnhuemonia, and her lungs couldn't take in enough air. The pack could catch up to her now.

Hydras, Skeil, Yersinia, & Bullet

Hydras quickly honed in on the weaker member. Instantly her corse was set and she sped closer to the hind, before plunging forward and trying to sink her fangs into the side of the creature.

Skiel plugged along, her shorter legs moving at their fastest. She began to catch up now, and was just waiting for the hind to be slowed.

Bullet quickly changed his direction, veering back to where his sister locked onto her target. Charing through the grassy terrain, the hybrid made his lunge and tried to hit the opposite side of the hind and help bring her down.

Yersinia still toyed around with the buck, spring just out of his range everytime he offered her a kick or swing of antlers. She was quite enjoying herself when a familiar scent drifted in. The hybrid suddenly pulled away, flashing past the agrivated stag and heading for the Tall Grass Prairie. It probably wouldn't be a decision that Hydras would approve on, but Yersinia didn't stop to think of that at the moment.

Satan

The mascue honed in on the target and charged. He attempted to leap onto the hinds back and sink his fangs into her neck. His claws were ready to grip on with, should the doe put up a fight.

Sequioa

She snarled and raced after the stag not wanting him to get away. She barked at Bullet "LETS GO!" Then snapped Fly on the side drawing blood from the black and white border collie. "Stay out of the way Fly. If you cant do something right dont do it at all."

The border collie paused for a moment and stood still before going to help out Yersinia. He didnt want to be in Sequioas way. She was more cruel then the younger hybrid.

Jake tore after the hind and leaped at the same moment as Satan only on her other side. He leaped hard and high trying to reach the back of her neck to maybe break the spinal cord.

*Red Deer*

The weakened hind was taken by the pack, falling to the ground under the weight of their bodies and the pain of their fangs. Her slender but deadly-powerful legs struck out wildly as she attempted to fend off the attackers and bring herself up. But it was too late already. Her blood trickled into the dying grass bellow as her labored breathing shook her body. She coughed and weezed, trying to draw the air in. After a few moments however, all the struggles slowed down. The hind had died.

The rest of the harem continued to flee. The stag, no longer harassed by Yersinia, charged after his females. He spied one of them swarmed by the pack, and knew that it was too late to help her. Although his heart panged for the loss, it would only mean his life if he had tried to save her now. So he brought up the flank of the remaining hinds and began to escort them away from the scene.

Hydras, Skeil, Yersinia, & Bullet

Hydras stayed with the hind, holding tightly until she moved no more. Then her eager eyes flashed towards the retreating reds, but she figured they'd be a waste of energy to try and catch. Ruffling up her thick mane and perking her tall ears agressively forward, Hydras set into the meal.

Skeil slid carefully up next to her alpha and began to feed as well. She had been a good friend to the hybrid for a very long time, and had earned the privliage of eating along side her.

Yersinia didn't test her luck. After being shunned from Ruin's hunting, she sat down a few yards from the kill and licked at her fur, cleaning and grooming it while waiting for Hydras to finish eating.

Bullet also knew his place. He'd be last to eat, along with Kenyon. But as he lay on the ground, Skeil tossed him a peice of meat. Wagging his tail in thanks, the hybrid picked up the meat and carried it back to the woods and set it down in front of Sasha. "Here!" He yipped excitedly, then addedd, "I'm sure Hydras will let you eat with her, since you're injured." While his sister certainly wasn't the nicest one around, she did value each and everyone of her members, and never disposed of them because of illness, injury, or weakness.

Sasha

Sasha smiled over at him when suddenly she froze. "Hydras....I need to talk to Hydras...." She stood up as quickly as she could and limped over to Hydras. "Um....Hydras....Aaka is pregnant. She has taken Legosa as her mate." She paused and waited for the alpha to speak.

Sequioa lay down far away from the rest of the pack. She didnt want to be particulary near anyone right now. She waited for others to finish before she would get her meal.

Jake lay down near no one in particular. He was close to Skeil and Yersinia but not to close to either one

Hydras, Skeil, Yersinia, & Bullet

Bullet nodded and followed after Sasha, but stopped before she got near Hydras. He sat down and waited.

Hydras paused in her feeding and looked to the doberman, "Aaka? And Legosa..." The alpha trailed off in thought. "So, she'll need some extra protection then...? I will send Jet-Wing to monitor the place. He can travel faster than any land creature, and report if help is ever needed."

Skeil finished her meal and tore another chunk of meat off, carrying it over to Jake. She was one of the more thoughtful members, unlike Yersinia who was perched nearby, still grooming her silken fur.

Bullet rolled onto his side and stretched out a bit. He looked longingly at the meat, but knew Hydras wouldn't allow him any unti the others were finished.

While Hydras waited for Sasha's response, she glanced to Sequioa and nodded to her, a signal that she could eat. A similar look was directed towards Satan. But as for everyone else; they were to wait their turn.

Ninaki, Kenyon, & Pirqua

Ninaki approached the kill as well, knowing his spot was pretty well secured in the pack. Still, he gave Hydras her space.

Kenyon knew better than to approach the kill. Instead, he passed by his uncle Bullet and sat down next to Jake.

Pirqua came down from the skies and landed on the head of the carcass. Stepping over the fur, she made her way to the soft throat and began to pluck at the meat.

Sasha

She shook her head. "I dont know Hydras....Im not sure about the match up. Aaka alone has many enimies and with Legosa more will be added." She was about to say something else when a border collie trotted towards them her head down eyes downcast. As she approached the pack she looked up and stared over at her brother Fly who was licking his lips ready for some food. She turned back to the rest and said softly "Pups are on the way" with that Ammon turned around and trotted away growling softly as she passed her brother.

Fly watched his sister Ammon leave. She had never been the happiest being in the world but this must have been a bad day. Ignoring it he tried to control his tremors as he licked his lips once more.

Satan

The wolf watched and growled as the deer ran. He trotted over to the group and sat down, knowing he was only new so had to wait his turn. The wolf was waiting patiently when Hydras gave him the look, signalling that he could eat. He licked his fangs before tucking in to the kill. He listened to the doberman aswell but knew nothing of the two spoken of. He guessed they were friends of the pack. Still nothing stopped him from filling the empty part of his stomach but he wasn't greedy. He would eat until he had enough to keep him going for a while before finishing. His optics watched the others but he continued to tear at the meat.

Risen

Gray femme trotted in. Deep red spheres glaring at the group. She sat a few yards away. Staring at the group, feeling nothing. Though anger was conceling itself deep withing... she said nothing.. and waited.

Hydras, Skeil, Yersinia, & Bullet

Hydras gave a light smirk, "We are well use to enemies. A few more won't hurt." Truthfully, the news brought a pang of uncertainty to the alpha's guts, for the loss of her sister was still sour on her mind. Yet she dared not show any fear, for the pack needed a strong alpha. "If she ever needs the help, a simple howl will be enough to bring us." Hydras confirmed, sounding completely confident and fearless. Now she finished eating and glanced to Risen as she arrived. "Did someone get lost?" Her voice wasn't the most friendly, but she relented a little because she knew Risen would be a valuable member. Now the alpha padded away from the kill and laid down.

Skeil finished eating as well and tore a large peice of meat off and carried it a few yards away.

Yersinia instantly stalked towards the carcass and began to eat. A bristled mane and stiff tail warned everyone else not to mess with her about her turn.

Bullet hesitated, glancing towards Satan. He knew Hydras had promoted the wolven to a higher ranking than him, and he was unsure how the wolf would tolerate him. Standing up, Bullet approached the kill as casually as he could and began to feed. He glanced to Fly and Kenyon and wagged his tail, inviting the two to eat along side him.

Risen

Eyes flared though showed her submission to the alpha. She was quite angered by her statement. "Lost Wouldn't be the way to put it." Hackles rose lightly, more dark instincts trying to consume her mind. Though she smothered it with knowledge. knowing it wasn't the best to let out infront of the alpha. "I wasn't informed by your trustee's." Her head turned to Yersinia and looked for Sequoia. Though she said nothing more. Nor did her looks intend to eat.

But she did want something to munch on because she wasn't sure the next time she would eat. Prideful stride took her to the kill, Staring over Bullet and Satan. Then moved to the other side of the kill from them. Taking very little meat, for she knew she wasn't present in killing it. And she just wanted enough food to keep her energy for her next hunt.

Satan

The wolf growled slightly as the others began to approach but he finished his meal and tore some meat from the carcass, before trotting away from the kill and finishing his snack. He glanced at the new wolf that had just arrived but paid to full interest, he just looked to Hydras before waiting for his next orders.

,font class="name">Hydras, Skeil, Yersinia, & Bullet

Hydras stared at Risen, "Watch how you speak to your superiors." Then she turned, hearing a snicker from Yersinia, "And don't be slacking on your duties."

Yersinia dipped her head submissively as the mirth was quickly stiffled. "It won't happen again." The small hybrid vowed, casting her gaze downward.

Hydras stood now, "I want everyone to grab the largest peice of meat you can carry. We're taking some extra rations to an ally." So saying, the alpha returned to the carcass and tore off a large chunk of flesh. She then turned tail and headed to the Caches of the Silver Glades territory.

Skeil and Yersinia did likewise, each grabbing a large peice of meat.

Bullet had pulled his ears back at Satan's growls, for he wasn't one conflict with others. Finishing his meal, the hybrid tore a very large peice of meat off and smiled to Sasha while trying to talk between his clenched teeth, "Guess we're going to see the pups!"

Mesa had since returned to the kill and fed near her mother, Pirqua. Since she could carry no worthy amout of meat, she didn't bother to even try. Instead she flickered past Bullet, "Don't get your hopes up!"

Fly

He ate some of the meat then tore off as big of a hunk as the young border collie could manage. Tail held high in the air not showing rank but for fun he pranced about spinnning in circles. Enough of this and he was soon so dizzy that he fell over and laughed. He glanced at Mesa and yipped "Aaka knows me she'll let me see...I will talk her into letting all of us see." He didnt know that the female wasnt in the best of moods and was half asleep from her recent happenings.

Sequioa came out of the trees and without eating any of the meat that she was offered tore off a hige peice and followed after Fly. As he fell over she said softly "Idiot" and continued on passing Risen without a second glance. She was almost gone when she turned around and glared at Risen "You going to grab some meat or stand there looking stupid?" She turned back around and trotted on not bothering to look at either satan or hydras. She knew her mood wasnt the best but she didnt honestly care.

Sasha smiled faintly at Bullet and limped even closer to the meat. She took a few bites but her appetite wasnt what it should be. She was quickly losing weight and wasnt entirely sure why she was never hungry. Sighing softly she grabbed a somewhat worthy amount and stood shoulder to shoulder with Bullet. "Hush Fly. Aaka will be tired and irritable and all she needs is you to make it worse." Her words were said softly but not near as harsh as Sequioas. She turned to Satan and said in the same soft voice "Im sorry for my recent behavior. Welcome to the Shadow Lurkers pack" she smiled at him then turned back to Bullet and leaned on him slightly to take some more pressure off her leg. "Lead on mon chere"

Ninaki, Kenyon, & Pirqua

Ninaki tore a large chunk of meat off when he was finished eating. He passed silently by the others, then paused to look at Risen, "It's best to stay clear of Hydras for a while. She doesn't tolerate insubordination too well." Ninaki tried to offer a friendly smile, but his heart was still not with it. His mate's death wouldn't leave him. Turning his sullen gaze from Risen, he trailed after the others.

Kenyon laughed at Fly's antics and was quite glad that there was another in the pack who was so light-hearted. Bolting down as much of the deer as he could cram in his bulging stomach, the large hybrid tore a peice of meat off and jogged after the collie.

Pirqua didn't take any meat either. After eating her fill, the falcon took to the air and soared high over the pack. Then she sailed after them, always keeping a lookout for danger.

Satan

The wolf didn't smile at Sasha but he didn't growl either. He simply turned, ripped off a big chunk of meat and trotted after Hydras and the others.

Risen

She glared at all those who looked down upon her. Shaking her head she walked to the pile of meat and what ever was left. Chaps took their time to get one of the biggest chunks out of the pack. Though she struggled behind because of her small body and large piece. The still made no attempt to fall or give up any parts of the meat. Eyes kept on Ninaki with slight sorrow. Though the darkness of her soul didn't let her whimper or cry for the brute. She didn't expect anyone to stay with her. Though it would be helpful to at least see a falcon to follow the rest of the pack.
