Shooter

The Harpy eagle kept a sharp lookout as he soared up in the sky, just a mere speck in the eyes of the ground-dwellers. His wings stretched out wide as he searched for something he may be able to label 'dinner', since he still hadn't gotten anything to eat. And wow, was he feeling like nothing more than one big bubble of air.

Finally he decided to take a rest and swooped down a ways to perch in a small tree right at the edge of the bay. He brought his wings in close to his body and tucked his neck in, quite cozy, but he wasn't here to get comfortable. So now he waited, keeping a sharp lookout for anyone or anything. Especially something edible.

Kyra

Kyra was a graceful creature, soaring low over the sea on her elegant wings. She was always on the lookout for danger. But now, while she still kept an eye out for something that might eat her, she was mostly searching for a meal herself. Her red eyes took in everything within eyesight. Except for Shooter. He was hidden from her sight. So she continued looking for a small fish.

Shooter

The eagle sat in the tree with a deep sigh, seeing absolutely nothing of interest once more. Was this valley on a famine or something? When he reached a certain stage of hunger, he could often become a bit snappy. Maybe he should just find something already dead. That's when his eyes unexpectedly landed on the unusual bird not too far off, just over the bay. He stared at her for a moment, watching her every move with little care, feeling his stomach rumble again. Finally he decided to check it out, so ruffled his wings and took to the skies, or more so the water, as he misjudged his landing and ended up splashing his bottomside into the chilly liquid. With a surprised screech, he lifted up into the air as his tail and legs dripped water, but luckily his wings went untouched for the most part. He found an old log near the other bird and quickly found a seat on it. "Food?" he seemed to ask, suspecting that was what she was here for. Right after speaking, he flung his head down and began picking at his soaked tail, spitting as he did so.

Kyra

The black-headed gull pulled up when she saw the eagle, thinking he was here to eat her. Why else would a giant bird be in the same place as a little bird? Her instincts told her to flee. But she thought twice. Shooter didn't seem to want to eat her, so she landed a ways away from him on a large rock. "Yep. The fish here are fast." She replied politely, hoping that friendliness could keep the eagle from having her as a meal.

Shooter

Shooter, once content with his work on his poor tail feathers, turned back to watch her again. He raised a brow, thinking it over. Fish. Maybe he'de try his luck at catching one. He didn't usually eat little birds, since he didn't like picking through the feathers and sometimes the taste just didn't give him any satisfaction. Just another thing to feel full on, but still be hungry in the end. Sighing, he ruffled his feathers and tucked his wings in. "Fish... Sounds delicious." he stated, and right afterwards, he caught the sight of a fish just under the surface of the water. Steadying himself on the log, he suddenly shot down, diving into the liquid and snapping almost blindlessly to see if he could snatch it. Now with practically his entire body soaked, he lifted up out of the water and climbed onto the log. Nothing. Then he turned back to her. "No luck," he simply stated, shaking his body off. "I am Shooter." he then said, looking at her with a pair of dark eyes.

Kyra

Kyra watched as Shooter tried to catch the fish. She looked disappointed when he failed. "Hey Shooter. I'm Kyra. She said, now walking a bit closer. "Maybe we could work together to catch some fish. I could chase them to you, and you can catch them." She suggested politely, tilting her black head which gave her species its name.

Shooter

Shooter watched her, going over what she had said. He had to admit it sounded like a plan, but he wasn't too sure how effective it'de be. He decided to give it a try anyway; he knew his stomach wouldn't wait much longer.
Giving his head a nod, he looked into the water. "Sounds like a plan," he replied, "So we need to find some fish." he then stated, flapping his wings to fly over the water, though staying near Kyra.

Kyra

Kyra took flight and soared high above the water, looking down. "I see a small school right there." She said. "You go over by that big rock and I'll chase then to you." She then waited for him to get into position.

Shooter

Shooter gave a nod and flew over to the rock, soaring just above it before swooping down and landing easily on the top of it. He readied himself for her to chase the fish to him, and gave a light screech to let her know he was ready for the fish.
