Kolitta

Kolitta was a small, orphaned two-year-old calf. her mother had been killed by some fools in boats. the young orca strayed around, calling sadly. her cries were probably unheard, but she didn't care. the orca's fluke was pushing up and down very hard as the youngster tried to propel herself forward even faster. her attempt was in vain. Kolitta only wasted precious energy. the swift two-year-old cried out again before she surfaced to take a breath, then dove down deep. Kolitta let herself sink slightly before straightening herself to search. heading towards a large sea rock, Kolitta placed her rounded head on it so she could rest.

Tahoma

A larger female orca spotted the calf as she made her rounds to check on the other youngsters in her pod. Before getting close, she knew that this orca was not of her pod, and was too young to be out on her own. Something must be wrong.

Gliding swiftly forward with powerful strokes of her fluke, the orca approached Kolitta, "Oh, you poor thing!" she crooned, drifting up along side the calf, "You must be lost from your pod, you look hungry!" Her voice was very mothering and tender. She had no young calves of her own anymore; they were all grown. But she was not so old that she couldn't be considered a mother-figure. "What is your name, little one? I'm Tahoma, of the Silv Cove Pod." There were thirty-three orcas in this pod, including eight youngsters of various ages. One of these youngsters, Torrent, was closest to Kolitta's age.

Lady

Lady troted about the land. there was nothing for her to do. she spoted the orcas barking at them questioningly. "What and who are you two?" she asked walking to the edge of the water.
