*Harbor Seal*

An injured harbor seal clambered out of the water and further up the beach. He was over four feet long and weighed more than 300 pounds. But after being attacked by a shark while searching for food, the weary creature was harassed by a pod of orcas until he managed to find shelter in a rocky bay. Unable to climb the shores of the steep-sided bay, the seal waited until the orcas left before he ventured out again. Blood loss weakened him and the threat of an orca attack compelled him to find shelter on land again. And so he ended up in Orca Bay.

A large, gapping wound was on his side, near his right flipper. Part of his tail flipper was bitten clean off. Exhausted and hurting, the creature collapsed on the rocky shore to rest.

Tri-Tundra

Tri-Tundra was searching for her friend when she stumbled across the seal. Having just ate, and being very senstive and caring she rushed to help. "Are you okay? It looks as if you have been attacked. By the orcas?How long have you been here and when was youre last meal?" She was very worried, she didn't want the orcas to get him is she could get him out in the water and okay again. She then got an idea. She howled for the orcas, Dark Star was the friend of two and perhaps with influence would help her. "If you trust me I can help you"

*Harbor Seal & Orcas*

The seal dipped his head down defensively, but was too exhuasted to do much else. "It's been too long since I've eatten; a few days I'd guess." he watched her with his large, glassy eyes as if she were going to make him her lunch any moment. But after a hesitant moment, he continued, "I have been here for two days now. The orcas will attack me if I go to the water, and that's the only place I can get food for myself." He had seen wolves before, but never up close like this. He had always thought of them as enemies, but figured his idea of them, or at least this one, was wrong.

It didn't take to long before a spout of water at the mouth of the bay announced the approach of an orca. A shiny black dorsal fin sliced through the water before dissapearing under. Two other dorsal fins broke the surface, followed by two more spouts of water. In short time, three orcas glided in close to shore. One came in very close and sent a small wave of water rolling towards the seal and wolf. After a short pause, the whale spoke up in a cheerful voice, "Tri-Tundra!! Long time no see!" he let out a long whistle, "Lucky you, you found a seal!"

The other two orcas hung back a bit but raised their heads out of the water to see the wolf and seal. "What a catch! We've been waiting for him to get back to the water. Seal is very good indeed!" Another orca stated, eyeing the wounded animal hungrily.

Tri-Tundra

Tri-Tundra nodded at the Orcas, but did not smile. "To tell the truth, I just ate. I am not hungry, but this seal really is. A good meal to you? Perhaps. But I have done enough killing and lost enough to know that I want this seal to live. After losing Dark Star, I can't stand to lose something even this small to me. Please help me save him." Her eyes were wet with tears, as she thoght about the weeks she had been looking for dark star. It was almost like if she could save the seal, she would be saving Dark Star. She knew that one or two of the orcas knew Dark Star, and she was hoping that they would help. She would owe them a lot though, perhaps many meals from on land, or at least as many she could to make up for the seal that would have been their lunch.

*Harbor Seal & Orcas*

"Huh, save him? He's at death's door anyw..." One orca began, but Tyali slapped him with his tail before the orca finished.

Tyali was silent for a moment with an almost blank expression on his face. But then his eyes softened, he could understand her reasonings for wanting to save the seal. "Sure we all will help you save him." He emphasized 'all' as he eyed the other two orcas. "Sennip, form a party to school fish into the bay. Get them close to the shore." He looked to the smallest of the orcas, "You and I will help protect the seal."

The orca named Sennip headed for deeper water and swam out of the bay to locate other orcas to help him. Tyali adressed Tri-Tundra again, "Is... is Dark Star, I mean.." The orca jumbled up his sentance, fearing the worst. Not wanting to upset his friend, he added, "Uh, is he lost? But, ah, we will focus our attention on this seal." He was worried now, because Dark Star was a friend of his too.

The seal watched the three huge predators anxiously. He was bewildered at what was happening; wolf and some orcas planning to save him!

Tri-Tundra

The first thing tri-tundra did was answer the one orcas smart remark. "We will close death's doorway." Then her eyes saddened as she responded to Tyali's question. "I don't rightly know. I have been looking around for him, and following a recent trail so, I hope he is ok. He knows his way around very well." She turned to look at the seal, still talking to Tyali. "As odd as this may seem, I can't bring myself to kill him. Weird huh?" She looked to Tyali. "You must think I am crazy. But I really want to do some good, no matter how little anyone cares."

*Seal & Orcas*

"Yes, I'm sure he is alright." Tyali said, trying to sound as certain as he could. "Nah, I don't think your crazy, although I think some of the other orcas may be wondering." he gave a slightly grin, trying to lighten the conversation with a joke. But quickly he got serious again as he talked with Tri-Tundra, "It takes a grand heart to help out the less fortunate, especially when it would be easier and more benefitial to kill them. Anyone can kill, and most would do that in this situation. I admire that quality you're showing." Tyali said in true honesty before speaking to the seal. "What's your name?"

The seal dropped his head down to the sand, still very much frightened by this huge predator. "M-my name is Seadashen. It.. it means 'High Leaper' in my colony." He blinked his large eyes, studying Tyali then Tri-Tundra, "Most call me Seadash or just 'Dash' for short. And... thanks; for not eating me." he said meekly but he really meant it.

Tri-Tundra

She gave a small laugh at the joke. "Well, they can think what they want." She then nodded to Seadashen. "That is quite the name. High Leaper huh? Well I bet when your colony finds you alive they will be the high leapers." She looked to him, her forest green eyes staring deep into his, and said "Your welcome. She then turned and sat.

*Seal & Orcas*

Seadashen gave a faint smile, starting to slowly trust these two.

Tyali lifted his fluke quickly before slamming it into the water and bringing it up swiftly once more. Water splashed over his back. "They shouldn't take too long in rounding up some fish." He said after a moment, then slipped into the water to get his head wet again.

Sure enough, four more dorsal fins sliced across the top of the water, entering the bay. They veered and dashed this way and that as loud whistles and clicks could be heard from under the water. Tyali joined the others deeper out in the bay. It took nearly ten minutes, but the five orcas finally managed to herd a small school of Rockfish towards the shore. After thrashing their tails and snapping at the huge fish, they confused them enough to drive them onto the shore. Seven of these large fish flopped on the rocks, trying to get back into the water. Three of them weighed under 10 pounds. Two where about 30 pounds, one was 45, and the other was almost 70 pounds. Two of the smallest were enough to feed Seadashen.

Tyali and the others couldn't get far enough on the shore to catch the now stranded fish. "There should be food a-plenty! You'll have to drag the ones you want further up the shore before they get back into the water."

Seadashen watched with hungry eyes. But he was too weak to reach the fish.

Tri-Tundra

She looked at all the fish. "I can't thank you enough!" She was really surprised. She grabbed the two smaller fish and hauled them to the seal. She bit off small bites, the right size for the seal, and made a large pile, leaving hardly no mussle or meat on the bones. She then ran over to where the dead fish laid on the beach. She hauled them over to the waves, where they floated out to the orcas. "These are for you, you caught them anyways." She turned back to the seal, where he laid. She grabbed some thick moist grasses, and wet them with water thoroughly. She laid the wet blanket of grass over the seals wounds, and dried body. "Please eat, and I can keep giving you more wet grass until you heal." She looked at tyali and the rest of the pod. "As for you, name any land animal you have wanted to eat, and I will try best as I can to get them for you. Any thing else you want, if it is in my power it will be done. See? I'm not crazy, I just wanted to broaden your tastes to the land." She smiled.

Seadashen & Orcas

Seadashen gulped down the bites of fish, hardly noticing at first when Tri-Tundra applied the grass. After he had eaten his fill, which didn't take long, he gave a deep, satisfied sigh and turned his attention to the wolf and orcas, "I can't thank you enough. When I am recovered I will do anything in my power to help you anytime you wish." After he had received the food and the grass poulices, he was assured that they weren't just trying to trick him.

Tyali nudged an orca to his left side as if to say 'I told you so'. While the other orcas feasted on the large fish, Tyali spoke with his friend, "Wolves never cease to amaze me, especially you! If it's not too hard... I've heard talk from ravens that sheep were very tasty. But what ever you can catch, if it's not any trouble." Tyali added quickly, not wanting to burden the wolfess with catching something that might be hard too. He didn't even know what a sheep was. "Oh, and we can catch something for you, too!"

Tri-Tundra

She was at first startled by tyali's request. "A sheep? Well, I don't know, perhaps a lamb or two? Lambs are baby sheep by the way. Maybe with help I could get a sheep, but they are too heavy to hual over the fence alone." She nodded "But, it is possible. I will certainly try." She turned her attention to Seadashen. She smiled "I would love to be able to visit you again at some point." She gently grabed the grass from his body, as it had dried. "Tyali, could you get me some seaweed? That would be a bit more normal for Seadashen I suppose. And, if it isn't too hard, perhaps a big splash from your friends in this direction would be in order?" She smiled, staying beside seadashen. A bit of a splash might be refreshing for the rock-benched seal.

Seadashen & *Orcas*

"Don't worry about it if they're too hard." Tyali replied quickly, not at all wanting to burden his friend, "What ever is easiest for you to retrieve is perfectly fine with me." he assured and looked back to see his pod members gathering up seaweed. They flicked mouthfulls of the plant onto the shore for Seadashen. Then they turned around with their flukes pointed towards the shore and splashed water at the seal.

Seadashen was relieved by the coolling effects of the water.

Tri-Tundra

She smiled. "Perhaps something like, a calf, or a lamb. They aren't the easiest, but then again, neither was what you have done. Thank you all." She looked to Seadashen. "Are you feeling better?"

Seadashen & Orcas

"Mmmm, those sound good." Tyali replied, though he didn't actually know what they might taste like. "While you are, maybe we could hunt for you?"

Seadashen nodded as a smile appeared over his whiskered face, "Yes, thank you again. And please, if I can ever help you with anything, just ask."

Tri-Tundra

She smiled. "I certainly hope we meet again." Then, her ears perked up. She heard a howl from Spirit, and all of the sudden her eyes lit up from excitement. "What luck! Spirit just caught a calf! Be right back!" She dashed off, and in about two hours, returned with a calf in her mouth. It was easy kill since it was sickly from pneumonia but was safe to eat.

Tri-Tundra

She smiled and looked to Tyali. "My friend, you and your pack have done it again! I hope you enjoy this gift in return for all your help." With that, she nudged it with her nose, trying to get it in the water. Frustrated, she turned her back to the pod and started pulling it into the water. She unexpectantly was submerged with the calf when a wave toppled her over. She spit out the salty water, shocked from the temperature. She shook vigorously and looked at the water, the calf had been swept in, but would be easy to find. "There you go." She said shortly, as she stood drenched. "I should go. Bye!" She gave Seadashen a wink, and Tyali a wet tail wag, and padded off.
