Kalaber
Kalaber moved threw the marsh. His underside wet.He had nothing on his mind accept the revenge for his family against the ones who started all of this. His tail was curled above his back as he moved along. His ears forward and his tail accasionally swishing. He yawned and kept moving splashing alot.
Lokk
The large male was still on his own, though he liked it that way most of the time. Still, he was beginning to feel the pang of loneliness and had a craving for pack life once again. He needed a family. Someone to be their for him, and someone their for him to care about and protect.
While these thoughts were rolling through his mind, Lokk spotted movement a little ways off. The wolf stopped in his tracks, ears up and green eyes looking intently until he finally recognized the creature as a wolf. Smiling inwardly as his thoughts had been answered, Lokk altered his coarse and began to trot towards Kalaber. "Hello, there." He greeted after coming nearer the other wolf.
Kalaber
Kalaber growled lightly as his nostrils picked up an intruders scent.Having just recently marked this marsh as his he turned and growled showing his dominance."what do you want? If you have anything to do with the group of wolves called the Shadow lurkers that live in the ruins then buzz off before i slaughter you"yes indeed kalaber had found out the name of the pack that had taken his sisters from him but that was all he knew about them.
Lokk
To say he was taken aback by the other's words would be an understatement, but Lokk wasn't one to act quickly in anger... well, usually. If he got frustrated, he had a habit of going wild, but he wasn't frustrated at the moment.
Logical and not over prideful, Lokk readily lowered himself and dropped his tail down, "I'm sorry for intruding, I didn't realize this was your land." The wolf appologized, "I have no alliance with the pack that you are talking about. And actually, I was looking to join a pack..." Letting his words trail off, he sent his green eyes questioningly to Kalaber's. Lokk was an older wolf, but he was not at all weak or decrepid- in fact, he was as strong now as he ever was, and had enough experience and wisdom to make for a great pack member. But he didn't speak on this; he waited to see what Kalaber's response was.
Kalaber
His eyes watch him lower himself and so kalaber slightly relaxed. He listened intently to him and then thought to himself.'grab him now before the lurkers get to him' he thought."You may join with me as long as you understand your place will be omega till we get others"He said watching him.
Lokk
The thought of being an omega didn't sit well with Lokk, but again, it was that or be on his own once more. And besides, he loved a good challenge. He would prove himself to Kalaber in time, and hopefully to others that may join the pack. "I understand. Thank you... uh, I didn't catch your name? I'm Lokk, by the way." He added, with a formal dip of his head. Being given the rank of omega, Lokk decided it best that he kept himself postured low around Kalaber, so he didn't raise his tail or head.
Kalaber
"kalaber is my name and my place in the world is as an avenger"he then began to move off in search of food.
Lokk
He nodded, mostly to himself, when the answer was given. "Avenger, huh? If I may, what are you avenging, Kalaber?" Lokk inquired, trailing after his new alpha. Being a very keen tracker, Lokk put himself to use as he began to search for any signs of prey while he talked.
Kalaber
"i am an avenger of my mothers death and sisters and the dissapearence of my other two sisters and the shadow lurkers will know where my two sisters are if they are still alive and i will kill them for ruining my life"he said as he sniffed around and his ears twisted this way and that.
Lokk
"I'm sorry to hear all that." Lokk added quietly as he continued his search for prey. He wasn't a readily violent wolf, but could pack a mean bite when the time called for it. Fiercely loyal, although too trusting sometimes, Lokk could definitely be counted on.
Kalaber
He bobbed his dial but began to stalk hopefully there was prey somewhere around her.
*Musk Oxen*
Usually, the wooly beasts stayed in the more northern lands, nearer the Ochotona Mountains and high meadowlands. But one curious fellow had wondered south in search of better forage. Heading across the marsh, he didn't notice the ice hidden beneath the snow, and after crossing a weakened area, the ice caved in and the large creature fell down into the freezing waters.
Weighted down by his thick pelt, the ox struggled to stay afloat as he tried to make it back to shore by breaking up the ice that was in his way. He was too panicked and too cold to notice the wolves, but his strong scent and loud struggles would easily give him away.
Kalaber
Spotting the ox he began tocrep closer and soon he broke out into a run and then once close enough he jumped attemtping to land on the beasts back and attempting to bite its neck.
Lokk
Being partially submerged in the water meant that they were safe from the oxen's hooves. But that also meant that they'd have to brave the icy waters to enjoy their kill- if they managed to kill it.
While Kalaber went for the back of the neck, Lokk came around front, trying to lock his teeth into the oxen's snout. An attempt to cut off its airway. It was a risky move, and he had to be careful about not falling into the cracking ice.
