Cortinarri

The self-proclaimed new alphess of the Opake Mountains carried herself with regal poise, holding her tail confidently high. She could never fully hide the limp in her crippled hind limb, but it at least did not slow her down to a significant point. As the time passed, she grew less and less self-conscious about it.

"There ought to be moose around here; maybe some adolescents. They'll be the easiest targets." Cortinarri pointed out, sweeping her gaze across the marshy lands while working her nose and ears to the fullest.

Wasteland

Uh Oh, this could be bad. The zoos enclosures had basically broken down and now DU DU DA! Wasteland was free. The male had come from India and was well used to cold climates after living in Russia for awhile as well. Now, he was loose in Sparkling Creek Valley. And hungry. God he was hungry. His eyes landed on Cortinarri and the males eyes seemed to flash with fire. He stalked silently through the brush, staying down wind from the so called alphess. He could see the limp, ah a weakness? Licking his lips the siberian tiger suddenly lunged forward with a roar that scared the birds from the trees as he aimed to grab Cortinarri by the spine.

Cortinarri

As she happened to glance back to check on the progress of Keilo and Kanan, a blur of motion caught her attention. A giant black and white thing was hurtling her way! With hardly any time to give a warning bark, the wolfess sprung quick and hard to the side, trying to evade this sudden and unexpected attack. If only Bullet hadn't mangled her hind limb... her jump was off, and in anycase, Wasteland had gotten close enough for good aim. Still, the alphess was able to twist around enough to save her spine from being bitten into. Instead, the tiger got his fangs into her ribcage. With a horrible yelp, she crashed to the ground under his weight, and instantly snapped her devilish fangs for his face. Never had she seen such a huge cat!

Namir

When Cortinarri had howled for the pack back at the Opake Mountain terra, Namir didn't hesitate to join in. In fact, Cortinarri were around, chances are, the cougar wasn't far behind. He owed his life to her and her old pack, and had grown very attached to the female.

When the bark was given, Namir picked up his pace, rushing across the ground as fast as he could until he came upon the scene before him. He was at first taken aback by the sheer size of Wasteland; Namir use to be one of the largest cats in the valley, but this... this was a creature bigger than him! Still, it didn't stop him for long. With a wild cry, he sprung for the siberian tiger, ears laced back and long talons unsheathed as he attempted to slam into the other's side. Claws and jaws struck for any flesh they could reach.

Wasteland

His fangs sank deep into Cortinarri, and he thrashed his head around to do as much damage as possible to her when suddenly another cat arrived. Joy. The male released the wolf and roared with anger as Namir hit him. He staggered a bit from the other cat, but being the bigger of the two didn't exactly help Namir. The tiger let out a ear drum shattering roar and lifted a massive paw to hit Namir across the face. He felt the cougars claws strike his shoulder and side but that didn't stop the massive siberian. What was the real problem, that even for a siberian he was huge. He had been the biggest one back at the zoo, and possibly one of the largest ones in India. Joy, right?

Namir

He gave a spitting screetch as fangs cut across his face, sending him reeling a moment. Suddenly, the tawny cat leaped away from the larger foe, long canines bared and eyes narrowed to deadly slits as he hissed out his words, "Find yourself a different meal." Namir knew it would be suicide for him to take on Wasteland, at least on his own. Keilo and Kanan would be a great help, once they arrived, but he wasn't willing to wait very long. The cougar shook his head once, flinging droplets of blood from his pelt as they wept from the lacerations that the tiger had given him.

Keilo & Kanan

Father and son soon appeared, snarling and bristling as the saw what happened. They stood on either side of Cortinarri, fangs bared at the offending cat. Kanan, with his half-missing tail, took a step closer to Wasteland, "You'll have to go through us before you get to her!" He didn't know why he was defending Cortinarri, but he was.

Wasteland

A roar of laughter escaped him, and definetly not the good kind. "You think to pups like you can stop me?" The massive tiger unsheathed claws that seemed to go on for miles and bared his massive ivories at the wolves. He had once heard of these creatures, and dubbed them as 'dogs' for thats what they looked like to him. The tiger eyed Namir for a moment and sent a dark hiss at him before advancing on Keilo and Kanan. "Come on, children. Lets play a game." He came closer to Kanan and struck out at him with those massive paws of his, keeping an ear out for Namir. All he needed was for the cougar to attack him again. Then the real fun would begin.

Cortinarri

She lay prone on the ground for a moment before standing up, panting hard. "A game?" The wolfess sneared, limping even more profoundly as she moved closer to Namir, "I can guarantee you'll be the loser of it." Blood began to trail down her multi-toned coat, seeping into her fur and blossoming out in a briliant display of dark crimson.

Namir

Narrowed orbs watched every flicker of muscle, every movement that the giant cat made. When he struck at Kanan, Namir leapt again, knowing this was going to wind up back. But, he had to save his friend. Rather than going for Wasteland's body, the cougar went for the oustretched paw that was being swung at Kanan. Having leapt with as much force as he was capable of, Namir hoped to slam hard enough into the limb to fracture or break it. His fangs and claws were also set for the front leg, ready to bury into whatever flesh they reached first.

Kanan & Keilo

Kanan sprung back with a sharp bark, but the cat had the quicker reflexes. The paw smashed directly over his muzzle, the claws ripping through his flesh. Little streams of blood trickled from the new wounds, invading his nose and mouth and making him sneeze.

Keilo snarled savagely and rushed forward, going for the cat's side and trying to bury his fangs into the back of the formidable creature.

Regaining himself, Kanan also went for the big cat, his aim for the opposite front limb that Namir was going for.

Wasteland

He roared and his paw was flung to the side by Namir, but not much damage was done except a slight stinging pain. He tried to sink his teeth into Namir, his fangs going for the cougars skull to crush it when Kanan and Keilo made there attack as well. With a roar the cat spun and made an attempt to slam a massive paw into Keilo, his tail like a whip slashing to and fro.

Cortinarri

The alphess shied back a few steps, flautering slightly on her hind limb, as well as from the fresh injuries she had taken on, "You picked your fight poorly, now suffer the consiquences!" She snarled, but did not engage the tiger in the battle. Instead, she howled loudly, calling for Manov and Pheral. Cortinarri felt the terribly power behind the cat's paws, and didn't want to get struck again unless Namir or the others were in need of her assistance.

Keilo & Kanan

As large, powerful, and experienced as the wolf was, Keilo was becoming more and more hindered by his advanced age. He saw the paw coming for him, and so thought to jumped swiftly to the side and evade the dangerous paw. But his body couldn't quite complete the comand quick enough, and the massive limb struck him broadside. Keilo was flung to the ground, rolling a few times before coming to a stop. And that's were he lay, stunned and wounded.

Kanan was mortified that his father was taken down so abruptly. His fury shown through in a raging snarl. He changed his course of attack and sent his jaws for the thick fur of the neck, seeking out the tender flesh below.

Namir

He did his best to remain clinging to the paw, to keep Wasteland from using it against his friends. Now he drove his teeth for the elbow jointed, trying to work his long fangs between the bones and dislocate them, or perhaps hit some vital nerve or artery.

Pheral

With a thicker body that wasn't built for long-distant high-speed running, it took the sow a little longer to join with her pack. It also didn't help that she was pregnant, thanks to human intervention. Although it was beyond her to understand how they accomplished such a strange feat, she was not at all surprised. And it was just as well; she always wanted a litter of her own, although it would be hell trying to defend them from the myraid of predators in this particular valley.

Panting slightly, with her long, narrow jaws agape, Pheral stopped a few dozen yards from the fighting as she tried to decypher the situation. She wasn't so sure about Kanan and Keilo, but Namir and Cortinarri were her packmates. With a loud grunt, the 600+ pound pig took off running, heading straight for Wasteland. Her head was lowered as she went for the attack, knife-like tusks aimed for the side of the big cat. If she were able to get a hit, she'd drive those tusks deep, going for organs.

Wasteland

As Keilo was struck down the male let out a roar of approval and suddenly he twisted his massive frame and instead of attacking Kanan, the male went for Namir. His unsheathed claws and paws of fury seemed to strike down with all the power they could muster, aiming for the other cats head. He felt Namirs teeth sink into his leg, barey missing his elbow joint. He glanced up and saw Pheral and his eyes widened slightly. She was more of what he would go after and the male let out a roar and struck again at Namir and shoved forward, trying to crush the smaller cat beneath him. In doing this, it would bring Kanan down on top as well and Wasteland had positioned the wolf so that he was between him and Pheral. He could feel the wolfs jaws close on thick fur but if Kanan bit down just a bit more he would have the massive tigers neck. Not the desired throat, but the neck.

Keilo & Kanan

Kanan refused to let go now as he bit harder, feeling his fangs drive through the fur towards the neck. He could also feel the strength in the neck, and knew that he'd probably be hitting mostly muscle, if anything, with this bite. Yet he still held, ready to take anything he could get as far as causing the big cat some damage. During all the tussle and comotion, he didn't realize that he was directly between a giant hog and her target; Wasteland.

Keilo lifted his head after a moment, but it fell back to earth just as quickly. His shoulders heaved as he attempted to get his front paws under him, but the effort was futile. With a drawn out whine, he gave into the pain and let his old body relax. The wolf felt oddly numb, aside from the jolt of pain he got from trying to move.

Namir

As tooth and claw befell his head, Namir gave a wild cry that was only befitting of his species. Giving up on the leg-attack, Namir began to strike back furiously at Wasteland's own head, swinging left and right. However, it was the tiger's paws that were bigger, and soon blood was trailing down from dozens of wounds on the cougar's head. A few in particular cut right down to the bone, and bleeding from that was profuse. But he didn't give up- he couldn't. Not while Cortinarri was in danger. Although it was no joy being crushed under a massive siberian tiger, Namir used it to his advantage. Hardly able to see straight as blood invaded his eyes, the cat struck out with all four paws, raking and jabbing at the other's underbelly, and snapping his blunt muzzle at whatever flesh he could reach.

Pheral

Pheral skidded across the sloppy ground, twisting about at the last moment to avoid skewering Kanan on her lengthy tusks. Snorting in frustration, she got another idea. As she wasn't the most agile compared to the cats and wolves, she took a different direction in the battle. Besides, she didn't want to risk harming Namir or Kanan.

Rushing around behind Wasteland, she attempted to grab the end of his tail in her mouth and give it a good thrashing. She wasn't as large as the massive siberian, but she had enough weight and muscle on her side to at least give him something to holler about if she managed to get his tail.

Wasteland

There was a roar of anger as Namir began tearing at his underbelly. The massive siberian sank his teeth into the cats skull as deep as he could before he leapt backwards and away from Namir. He laughed darkly and was about to spring forth once more when suddenly there was a sharp pain at his tail. With a roar of fury and pain, the massive feline turned and eyes spotting Pheral, he struck out with lengthy claws, going to tear at her face. He struck with his other paw at the same time, hoping to latch onto her face and hear her open that way, all the while keeping an eye on Namir. Keilo was still attached to his neck, but the wolfs hold wasn't so good so that was fine.

Pheral

If it weren't for her four tusks, Wasteland's claws would have cut to the bone. Yet even though her tusks offered some protection, they could not prevent it all. The first strike drew long furrows across her dark face which quickly began to spill blood. The second hit went even deeper, and the claws were easily emedded. Giving one of the sharp, feral squeals, the giant sow thrashed her head violently from side to side, trying to dislodge the claws that the tiger had in her face. Blood splattered left and right, staining the tiger's pelt and her's as well.

Keilo & Kanan

Kanan kept up at attacking Wasteland's neck for a moment, but found there was just too much fur and muscle in the way to easily reach any vitals. Giving up his hold, he tried to reposition his bite for the tiger's upper shoulder. If he got a hold, he'd work and slash at the flesh, trying to damage the muscles as much as possible to weaken Wasteland.

Keilo still lay on the ground, breathing slow and shallow and making no attempts to get up.

Wasteland

He roared as he felt Kanan shift, and releasing Pheral with one paw, he reached around and tried to grab onto the wolf and pull him off, long claws unsheathed and bloody.

His other paw he kept firmly on Pheral, roaring and spitting at her as he tried to dig a claw down into her eyes.

Namir

He kicked and slashed with all his might as the underbelly of Wasteland, doing his best in an attempt to dissembowl the big cat above him. Although he despised this big feline, he himself had looked upon canines as prey from time to time. Of course, it was a totally different story when Cortinarri was the 'prey' in question; that Namir couldn't stand for.
