Keilo

Keilo was hard pressed for breath by the time he made it to the marsh. He hoped that the hounds, or at least some of them, had decided to keep following him. The wolf took a glance back, trying to see if they were close or not. Then he looked forward, desperately searching for a means to evade his persuors.


*Hounds*

The two plunged after Keilo without a moment's hesitation. "It's only a matter of time now, wolf! Might as well give up and spare yourself the torment!" One barked out, his voice gaspy and hoarse from the run.

They ran side by side, leaping high and splashing through the boggy land, eager to catch the quarry.


Keilo

Keilo stiffled a growl, not daring to slow or turn around. He knew he was slowing down, and knew they would catch him sooner or later. The boggy water was sapping his strength as well, just as thick snow in the winter. Then, quite suddenly, the wolf hit a deep spot and water engulfed him entirely. A moment later his snout broke the serface with a gasp, water flying as he shook his head. Kicking frantically, Keilo began to swim for all he was worth...
