Mute & Don

Don came rushing back to the marsh, breathing in the after stuff in the air that had made all the animals nearby dizzy and light-headed. From sulfer, to be more exact. She caught her brother's scent and ran for it, soon seeing his motionless body laying on the ground. Limp as a peice of broken twig hanging off a branch. She slid to a halt and nudged Mute's dial, wanting him to get up. But it was pretty useless. He was nearly knocked out cold now. His body continued to lay there, and he only stirred for about a second before his head fell back to the ground and he dozed off. The throbbing pain at the back of his dial was light now and didn't hurt as much.
"He needs help... And so does Galar, over there." she stated, motioning to the alligator by the shore. He was hurt by the same stuff. But she wasn't sure if he was still awake or not. She sighed, and looked to Malon. She couldn't do anything, of course. She looked back down to her brother and then ran off to Galar. She sniffed him to make sure he was still alive and then whispered "Are you awake?" She stood there worriedly, the effects wearing off on her.

Aralyn*Malon

The dog could have easily kept pace with Don but he hung back making sure that Aralyn could always see him so that she knew where to go. Both dog and master arrived Aralyn breathing heavily Malon panting slightly but his breaths were short and he sneezed at the scent of sulfer even though it was light. "I dont think she knows how to cure this. Shes only worked on animals with cuts and some poisons." He was right. Aralyn was unsure on how to take this. She moved to the gator and lightly stroked his head praying that he didnt wake up and eat her. She opened one of his eyes and checked his pupils. She then moved to Mute and brushed a hand over him and took out a cell phone. When worst came to worst she could call the lady. She dialed the number and waited as the phone rang making sure to keep an eye on Don in case she decided to attack

Galar & *Lady*

Galar was unresponsive, and his pupils were very dialated. But he was breathing. Many of the birds that had landed on the ground were dead now, but a few of the larger species were hanging onto life.

After a few rings, the phone clicked on the other line and the lady's voice arose, "Hello?"

Aralyn

"Hey Its Aralyn. Um I got a problem. Im at the Marsh and I have an alligator and wolf here. Theyre both breathing but I can smell sulfur. I think there was an earth quake. I dont know what to do here Ive never worked with this kinda thing. All I can tell you is that there are alot of dead birds surrounding me." She watched Don always stroking Mute checking to see if he was still breathing.

Galar & *Lady*

The lady was silent for a moment, but she knew that an earthquake had struck, for the tremor had reached her house as well. As Aralyn discribed the scene, the lady knew instantly what had probably happened. "The waters must have flipped during the earthquake, and the air might be filled with carbon monoxide now! If you begin to feel light-headed, get out of there right away! But if you have time, try to move as many animals from the marsh as you can; at least a few dozen yards from the water." She paused in her speech, trying to remember what little she knew of this rare situation. She had never experienced it before, but she had heard of it happening to another lake. Unfortunately, every human and animal near that lake had died when the waters flipped. An entire town had been killed within minutes.

"There isn't anything you can do for them now, besides get them away from the waters until the gases have been blown away. If they haven't been poisoned too badly, they will begin to recover on their own in a few minutes or so." Again she paused, wanted to be there to help. But there were so many animals at her house to take care of, and there really wasn't much she could do to help at the marsh right now. "If any seem very ill, you can bring them back here."

Aralyn

She gave a soft "Ok." Into the phone and then hung up. She looked to the gator then to Malon. She got into her bag and pulled out a rope and his harness and tied a knot then put the males harness on. She moved to the gator and wrapped it around him as best she could then yelled "Malon Hike!" The shepherd looked to his owner and then threw himself against the harness pulling as hard as he could while Aralyn helped as well. She pulled as hard as she could as they both tried to pull out the gator.

Galar

If it weren't for the snow-covered ground and Galar's thinner weight in the winter, they would have had a much harder time. But as it was, they were able to drag him across the snow. He stirred only once, lifting his head slightly before letting it drop limply to the ground again.

Nearby, a pine marten was hanging from a lower branch of a tree. The weasely-creature had been knocked out by the noxious air as he perched on a branch. Now he hung by his hind limbs, which had gotten lodged between two small branches. The unconscious creature swayed in the breeze, dangling less than a foot from the serface of the water.

A large feral tom cat was near at hand as well. He had been prowling around for an easy meal with the earth was thrown into its fit. Now he was sprawled on his side in the snow, half of his body soaked by the freezing water.

Aralyn

Aralyn was filled with relief as the body moved. She moved the gator far from the shores edge but made sure that he would still be able to find the water when everything was right again. Seeing the pine martin Aralyn moved quickly and gathered him close to her chest. She placed him in the woods nearby far from the waters edge as well. Seeing the tom cat Aralyn took off her hooded sweatshirt and picked the cat up trying to soak the water off of him. Holding the cat close to her chest Aralyn began to leave since all of the animals had been moved far enough away from the edge as well as Mute.

Malon watched his master as she left and he turned to Don "If he gets any worse bring him to the woodland farm. Aralyn can take better care of him there."

Mute & Don

Mute sighed lightly, seeming to have lost connection with the real world. He was only in thought now, as his eyelids twitched and his nares quivered every once in a while. Soon he was swiveling his auds, but wasn't completely "with it".

Don sighed, watching as the human and hybrid worked away to move the animals. She nodded to Malon before turning and running to her brother, nudging him, but roughly. Maybe he would wake soon... Most likely. He should be well enough after a short while. "You'de better wake up soon." she "ordered" slyly before taking hold of his scruff and trudging off with him. She would find a safe place for them to fully recover, though she was nearly refreshed of the sulfur gas already.
