*Deer*
Over two dozen white-tail deer are dead around the shores and other areas of the marsh. The stench of their death enshrouds the area, and makes it almost unbearable for humans to come here.
There are four deer that seem ill as the walk along the marsh, not eating or drinking. One of the deer limps, and two other foam at the mouth. Their eyes are blood-shot.
Flurry
She enters and howls for Galar and the two young ones. That's when she notices the deer. She sniffs them then backs away. "Oh no this cant be good. After I talk to Galar perhaps I should lead the lady here." She says quietly to herself though loud enough for others to hear. As she waits for Galar she pads up to one of the living deer that was foaming at the mouth. She knew she shouldn't really care about deer dying but something strange was going on. She never tried to talk to the prey before but would at least try. She wasn't sure if they could talk back. "Hello are you ok? What's wrong." She asked.
*Deer*
The doe staggers to a stop when Flurry spoke to her, but didn't seem to have any fear of the wolf. Her eyes were glazed as if she were in shock, but she spoke, "A plague... a severe one." The doe panted and raised her head slightly, "It happens now and then... at the end of summer..." Any normal deer wouldn't have stayed to speak to their predator, but this ill creature hardly even looked at Flurry as she talked. She leaned her head over to the shore of the marsh and dipped her snout down until it touched the water. The doe tried to drink, but got very little water into her mouth.
Galar, Dima, Akili
Galar was slow to respond. After a while, his bulky frame was visible gliding sluggishly through the water, and he pulled himself onto the shore. His sides buldged out; filled with deer meat. Akili and Dima took even longer to reach the shore where Flurry was. They too had eaten until it seemed they might explode. The little alligators climbed ashore and chirped happily, "Hey Flurry! Look at all this food!" Akili said.
Galar also greeting Flurry, "There is very little fighting amongst us alligators right now. There's so much food!" the reptile spread his webbed feet out and soaked up the warmth of the sun. He watched the doe with interest when it spoke, since he never tried to talk to them either.

*she thinks about the deer with sadness. they had a right to live too. noticing this was an area she had never come to before.*
Starlit Eyes & Spark
Before she reached the marsh, the scent of death disturbed her greatly. Not only that, but a sickly scent was mingled with it. She stood beside Flurry and gazed out at the bodies of the dead and dying deer. She felt pity for them then. They were such graceful, peaceful creatures. The hybrid greeted Galar, Akili, and Dima, then silently listened to the doe and Flurry speak.
The spaniel came racing in after Starlit. He was very much afraid of this place, and the scent of death made him all the more afraid. He stayed on the other side of Starlit so that the wolf-hybrid was in between him and Galar.
Flurry
She listened to the deer. She then looked to Galar. "Hi Galar, Akili, and Dima! I will be right back." She says. She looked to Starlit. "I'm going to get the Lady. This doesn't seem right. All these dead deer." She says. She runs off to the Woodland farm.
Flurry
She re-enters the marsh and looks to Galar, Dima, and Akili. "Don't attack the lady." She said. She knew four deer were still alive. She looked to Starlit and Spark then waited for the lady to see the deer. She barked to the lady. She padded around the four live deer to round them up together. She then padded over to Galar, Akili, and Dima and stood in the water with them to show the lady that they wouldn’t attack her.
Lady, Starlit Eyes, & Spark
The terrible stench first caught her attention. Then she saw the bodies of the dead deer, and instantly the realization of what was going on came to her. She knew almost for certain what had happened to them. The lady stumbled across the soggy marsh to get closer to the four living deer, and saw that they too had the same disease that killed the others around. What was more shocking to her was when Flurry went into the water near the three alligators. She wanted to run over and scoop up the pup and carry her to safety, but realized she was safe. That alligator must have been the one in the newspaper that didn't attack Flurry or Starlit, the old lady thought.
Instead of dwelling on that, she turned her attention to the deer; after all, that must be why Flurry brought her here. Yet, she didn't know exactly what to do with the deer. She thought a moment before taking her cell phone out of her pocket. She dialed up a number and spoke in a shaky but certain voice. Then she walked cautiously over to the deer, but kept her distance. Knowing the disease they have makes them have no fear of humans, the lady didn't want them to try and attack her if she got too close. She waited a while until a truck sounded in the distance, and came slowly across the area. It was a close friend of hers driving the truck, and it took a while for her to get there because she had to avoid the deep waters and logs. Finally, the truck pulled up near the lady and the deer. A horse trailer was behind it.
The lady in the truck was called 'Amy' by Starlit and Flurry's master. And likewise, Amy called the old lady 'Charlene'. Charlene called Starlit over, and the wolf-hybrid obediently sprinted over to her master. Charlene used hand signals and words to direct Starlit on what to do. Starlit helped to herd the deer up into horse trailer. Then Amy and Charlene got into the truck, and looked over at Starlit and Flurry and called for them to get into the truck.
Starlit leapt into the truck bed, "Good thinking to bring the lady here, Flurry! Maybe she can figure out what's up with the deer."
Flurry
She licked Galar, Dima, and Akili's snouts as saying goodbye. "Bye guys I will be back later." She hops up into the truck bed with Starlit. "Thanks Starlit. It was the only thing I could think of to do." She barked and waited for the truck to pull away.
Amy, Charlene, Starlit, & Spark
Once the three canines were in the truck bed, Amy closed the tail gate and began to drive slowly back to the Woodland Farm.

She watches the surroundings go by as they leave.
