Mesa

The young peregrine falcon soared in, scanning the ground with her incredibly accute vision. She was searching out a duck or other water foul. Having recently met a hawk at the Canyon, she was eager to find him a duck to try. And in turn, she would be getting a rabbit!

Duck

A mallad male duck was swimming and accasionally submerging his face into the water fishing. He was quiet unaware of the falcon above.

Mesa

She spotted the mallard and grew excited; perfect! The falcon pulled her wings in and went into a stoop; a free-falling dive straight for the bird.

Reaching immensely high speeds, Mesa stuck her talons out and spread her wings at the last moment, hoping to strike the bird along the back. Her speed, if she managed to hit the duck, would be enough to kill it on impact...

Mallad

Unfourtanatly he had just lifted his head up when talons hit his back and with one last quack he was dead.

Mesa

She was so pleased to see the feathers fly after hitting her mark, that she didn't pay attention to anything else. Her own momentum threw her down into the water before she could begin to try and fly upwards. Crying out in alarm, she flapped her wings desperately, but the weight of the mallard was beginning to drag her down. And she couldn't manage to pull her claws free.

duck

the duck was dead its head limp.

Aaka

Silently the white wolf appeared her head low eyes glaring. "Mesa what have you gotten yourself into now?" she jumped into the water slightly angry that she was getting wet. Grabbing the duck she dragged it and Mesa back to the shore. "We are heading to the ruins Mesa meet us there or stay here. I dont care. Stay out of trouble will you?" She turned and trotted out water spilling off of her coat giving her a ragged shaggy look.

Mesa

Mesa sputtered and coughed, having been dragged underwater part of the trip back to shore. Her body looked incredibly thin and lanky with all the feathers matted down. "Rui- *cough* Ruins? *cough* I need to *cough* Eh, I'll be back. Er.. thanks." She sputtered out, watching Aaka leave. For a few minutes, the falcon hopped about, flapping her soaked wings until enough water had been shed. Struggling immensly with her prize, she gained altitude and headed for the Canyon.
