Galar
The alligator pulled himself up onto a log and opened his tooth-filled jaws. His eyes closed and he basked in the warmth of the summer sun. A small painted turtle climbed up on the log as well, a while after Galar did. Soon, two more little turtles clambered up onto the log, enjoying the heat too.
Starlit Eyes
The wolf-hybrid sprinted over through the tall grasses, spraying up water whenever her paws landed in some. By the time she reached Galar's territory and found him, her paws and legs were speckled with mud.
"Galar!" she barked to the basking reptile, "Wake up, I need to ask you something." she wasn't sure whether he was awake or not.
Flurry
She follows Starlit and is glad to see Galar. She also calls for him.
Galar
He opens his eyes to the sound of his friend's voices. Galar turns to face the shore, and spots them. The three turtles on the log quickly dive back into the water.
"Hello! What brings you here?" Galar asks as he slides off the log, and into the water. He glides over to the shore where Starlit and Flurry and climbs halfway out of the water.
Flurry
"Hi Galar!" She says. She looks to him. "Remember that evil men that tried to hurt you and catch me. Well when the lady was looking at the paper I saw his picture and a lot of strange symbols that humans must understand." Flurry started to say. She then looked to Starlit.
Starlit Eyes
Starlit nodded to her friend in greetance, "Hey Galar." she waited until Flurry had finished speaking before she picked up where the pup left off, "We need to know if you've seen any humans around here lately. They probably communicate to each other through those papers, and we think that that man would lie to the other humans to try and hurt you and Flurry."
Galar
He listens to them and thinks about what they had said. He didn't know what 'papers' were, aside that they were used by humans to communicate with each other. "I have seen a few boats come by here; actually, more than usual. But I dove into the water each time so they didn't see me. But, a few alligators have been killed by the humans... they put out some really good meat, and when alligators go to eat it, they get caught in a large metal cage thing. Then the humans come by and kill them." If Galar could, he would have made a frown then, "I almost went for one of those pieces of meat, but it wasn't in my territory. I know one alligator who's still caught in one of those things, but I really don't like him."
Flurry
She listens to Galar and she thought she heard the rumbling of a boat but she didn't see one so she ignored it. It was probably something else. She nods glad Galar wasn't caught. She looks to Starlit more worried.
Starlit Eyes
Her ears swivel to catch the noise as well. She was unsure about what it was, but stayed alert. "Be careful about what you eat and where you go. Humans are tricky." she listened again the rumbling; was it coming closer? She couldn't tell.
Flurry
She nodded unsure about the noise. It sounded close and sounded like it was coming closer fast. She looked to Galar. "What’s that and are the little ones ok?"
*Humans*
The rumbling suddenly gets quiet and stops. Not soon after that, a deafening gunshot shatters the new silence. There is a long pause after that, then the rumbling starts up again, and gets louder; coming closer. Soon, a boat can be seen rumbling through the water. There are two people aboard, one carrying a harpoon, and one carrying a large gun. Also in the boat is an alligator slightly larger than Galar. It is dead.
The humans slow their boat down and start heading for where the two canines and Galar are, knowing that the alligator lives there. So far, they haven't seen either of the three... but they could at any second...
Flurry
She looks to Galar. "I think you should hide Galar. I'm sure Starlit and me can escape." She says not realizing they haven't seen them.
Flurry
She suddenly had a plan. "I'll try and get the gun away from them." She said. "Stay here please." She said. You could see some fear in her eyes but she knew what she had to do. Before they could reply she was running through the brush unseen by the humans. She swam in the marsh through thick grasses still unseen. She the hops on the boat from behind and takes a deep breath quietly. She rams her body into both of them and if they were to fall she quickly grabs the gun and drops it into deeper water to which it sank. If they didn't fall before they turned around she leaped into the water and dived under holding her breath swimming towards shore.
*Humans*
The boat began coming even closer and then it stopped. Both humans looked around for the alligator. As Flurry comes aboard, the two fall when she rams into them. The one man who was holding the gun reaches for a net while the man with the harpoon tries to stab Flurry with the harpoon but misses. As the wolf leaps off the boat he aims the harpoon at her and misses once more.
Flurry
She continues to hold her breath then reaches shore where she snarls at the humans and runs through the brush. She was afraid they'd come to shore. She breathed heavily trying to catch her breath. She had scared herself when she almost got stabbed.
Galar
Listening to Flurry, Galar quickly dove into the water. He swam out a little way, then sunk to the muddy bottom of the marsh. The water was too murky for him to see well, but he knew exactly where the boat was and if anyone where to get into the water nearby. He waited to see if the humans would get out of their boat; then he wouldn't hesitate to strike.
Starlit Eyes
She watched intently from the shore when Flurry attacked the humans. She would have gone herself, but she was much larger and the humans would have seen her coming. As the wolf pup made it to shore, Starlit barked savagely at the humans to distract them in case they were to shoot the harpoon at Flurry.
*Humans*
The human with the harpoon aims at Flurry once again. Then he saw the alligator slip into he water. He aimed but held back because he lost track of the alligator and didn't want to waste this shot.
The other human watched Flurry come back onto land but looked in the direction of Starlit Eyes, distracted by her bark. He could just make out the dog's form and nudges the other human. "There's another dog..." he whispers and points.
The other man set the harpoon down and started the boat. He slowly cruised along the area where he saw the alligator and the dogs. He shut the boat off and took a paddle from under the seat. He began jabbing it around in the murky waters. He motioned for the other man to pick up the harpoon and ready himself.
Quickly the man picked up the harpoon and followed the paddle movements.
Galar
His sensitive snout picked up on the vibrations of the paddle jabbing at the water. Since it came from near the boat, the alligator assumed it was one of the humans in the water. Not wanting them to reach the shore, Galar quickly came up from the bottom of the marsh and struck at the paddle, taking it between his powerful jaws. He thrashed his head back and forth, trying to drag his 'prey' down under the water more.
Flurry
Flurry watches and since the humans were distracted she swam around the boat hopefully unseen again and she rammed all her weight at the human with the harpoon to knock him into the murky waters. Then she quickly slashes at the other humans eyes and grabs his neck biting hard. If the other human came back in the boat she'd jump out. Since humans had soft spots she bites the neck as hard as she could and jumps back into the water and swims towards the shore.
*Humans*
The man with the harpoon looks back when he hears something and sees Flurry. He manages to toss the harpoon into the boat as he falls over. He grabs the railing of the boat and pulls himself out of the water. He picks up a pole and swings it at Flurry, driving her out of the boat.
When the paddle was caught up by Galar, the man immediately let go and turned around he was hit by the wolf. He raises his hands over his face to lessen the damage. When she catches his neck he shouts out and tries to push her away, causing more damage to his neck.
Flurry
You can hear her snarl under her breath. She gets hit in the leg when the human swings the pole but it didn't hit her hard it just caused a bruise on her leg. She manages to leap off the side of the boat while still holding the human's neck. She was hoping shed crack the humans neck or make him fall in so Galar could get him when she would let go. She knew there was still a risk of getting hit by the pole but the human would have to take the chance at hitting the other one if he missed Flurry. When the other man fell he must have dropped the Harpoon which gave an advantage.
Starlit Eyes
Starlit launches herself into the water and began swimming swiftly towards the boat. Although it went against everything she was taught by the lady, Starlit lunged at the man not being attacked by Flurry. She hoped her weight would throw him off balance, and into the water. If not, she aimed to sink her ivories into his arm...
Galar
He brought the paddle to the bottom of the marsh and quickly splintered them between his jaws. When the man fell into the water, Galar was quick to attack, but not quick enough. He slammed his jaws close an inch away from the man as the human got back into the boat. Then, he nearly attacked Starlit as she made her way to the boat after he mistook her for a human. Worried he would end up attacking one of his friends, the alligator surfaced until his eyes and snout cleared the water. He watched and waited intently for any of the humans to fall into his domain.
Flurry
She didn't like doing it either but she didn't want them to hurt Galar, Starlit, or herself. She holds on tight.
*Humans*
The man grabbed onto the side railing of the boat as Flurry pulled him over, still holding his neck. He shouted out a warning as the other wolf leapt into the boat. The man kicked Flurry many times trying to kick the wolf off. He grabbed the railing with his other hand trying not to sink into the water.
The other man carefully poked Flurry's neck with the pole over and over again. He pushed the boat ladder down for his partner to hopefully lose the wolf and get back on. He heard his partners warning and turned in time to raise his arms, causing Starlit to close her jaws about his arm. The human winced and went to batting the canine with his pole.
Galar
Galar sees one man is now partially in the water. He submerges once again and cruises over to that side of the boat. There is a pause while the alligator sizes up the human. In an explosion of water, Galar thrusts himself up with his powerful tail and snaps his jaws shut; hopefully on the man's leg where he had aimed.
Starlit Eyes
She snarls at first, then yelps at being attacked by the pole. Starlit releases her hold of the man and takes a few steps back from him, fur bristling and fangs bared. She snaps at the pole, trying to catch it so that the human couldn't attack her with it any more.
Flurry
She winces at the pain of being kicked and poked and when she sees Galar grab the mans leg she releases knowing he could handle it. She hopes in the boat and bites at the mans hands so it would be easier for Galar to drag him under water. When she sees starlit grab the pole she leaps up and grabs the other mans neck if she could and bites hard trying to burst his life vein and also in hopes of pulling him backwards into the water.
*Humans*
The man screams as he is pulled under water and then no more is heard of him. Only a few air bubbles rise before he inhaled much water trying to escape.
The man with the pole yanks it out of Starlit's jaws and takes a powerful swing at her. When Flurry attacks he staggers back into the boat mast. He uses the pole to grab the harpoon and reach behind, stabbing at Flurry while brandishing the pole at Starlit. He pushes against Flurry so her chances of escaping with out a wound were slim. He was holding back, not wanting to kill this wolf. She could either let go and get away with minor injuries but if she hung on, living wasn't on the top of the list.
Flurry
She yelped and released getting a gash on her leg. "Starlit lets get out of here." She said running by Starlit's side. "I'm sure Galar is gone by now or we can hide in the brush to make sure he's okay." She said. She snarled at the human feeling the pain in her leg. She was ready to jump off the boat if Starlit was.
Galar
Even after the human was drowned, Galar thrashes his head and continues his attack on the man. Not until the water around his turned crimson and he is positive the man is dead does the alligator resurface. His blunt head comes up out of the water and he gives a loud hissing roar to the man on the boat, but he cannot reach him.
Galar watched his friends on the boat, and waited for them to get off, if they were going to. He would have to make sure they weren't attacked by other alligators now.
Starlit Eyes
Starlit gave a yelp as she was struck again with the pole, and stumbled to regain balance. She was ready to leap at the man again for what he did to Flurry, but then she suggested they should get off the boat.
"You're right; let's get out here!" she barked, and looked to the murky waters. She leapt in, close to Galar, but waited for Flurry before swimming to shore. She also worried about other alligators now that there was blood in the water.
*Humans*
The man moves forward and lets Flurry fall and kicks her off the boat. He starts the boat up and moves around the water, looking carefully at the water for his companion, highly doubting he'd find him still alive. The human pulls the ladder up and picks up his harpoon. He circles the group a few times waiting to see what they'd do.
Galar
"Get to shore quick!" Galar warned his friends, once he saw that both Starlit and Flurry were in the water. He didn't like the boat circling him, or being in his territory. The alligator submerged suddenly. A few seconds later, he brought nearly a third of his body out of the water right along side the boat. His jaws slammed shut on empty air, as he knew he couldn't reach the human. Galar was trying to scare the human away.
Flurry
Before she leaps off the boat as he kicks her she slashes his leg and jumps. She swims to shore beside Starlit and watches Galar. "Galar hurry hide! Starlit and me will be fine." She says carefully eyeing the human.
*Humans*
The man jumps as Galar comes up right next to the boat. He turns the boat and moves a bit far off before he pulls out a pair of binoculars and watches the alligator from afar.
Starlit Eyes
She swam to shore with Flurry, and watched Galar lunge up beside the boat. Starlit was glad to see that the man had left; at least out of her sight and hearing. She was still worried he might come back though.
While waiting for Galar to come back, the wolf dog looked to Flurry with concern, "Are you alright? You did a good job with those humans." Starlit gave a small grin.
Galar
He followed the boat a short way, but turned back and swam to the shore where his friends were. He listened carefully to the rumble of the boat's motor as he swam away from it, until he thought he couldn't hear it any more.
The alligator pulled himself completely out of water beside Flurry and Starlit, "Thanks for your help." the reptile said. Now he was pretty tired after the little battle, being cold-blooded.
*Humans*
The man sighed. He was hoping the alligator would follow farther. He'd just have to try again, hopefully those wolves wouldn't be there next time. He put down the binoculars and shifted the boat into gear. He zoomed passed the group once more, heading in the direction they came from. A moment later he was gone.
Flurry
She nods to Starlit and breaths heavily till she catches her breath. She nods to Starlit though her leg did hurt and was still bleeding slightly. She then nods to Galar. "Ok do you think we should all leave?" She asks meaning her and Starlit going to the Woodland Farm and Galar leaving the area just until the human was gone.
Starlit Eyes
"We should." she replied, then looked back at Galar, "Try to leave this area for a while until you're sure the human is gone. We'll check on you again soon." Starlit shook herself, flinging water every-which way. She had bruises from being hit by the pole, but they weren't much. "I don't know what the lady is going to say when she learns about this one." Starlit said to Flurry with some worry as she headed for the Woodland Farm.
Flurry
She realized the lady wouldn't be happily or that's what she thought. "Bye Galar." She says and pads out of the terrain to the Woodland Farm.
