Dark Star
Dark Star's face was covered with blood, and he was limping. He could not believe what had just happened to him. "All of them...where??....." he sighed weakly and miserably. With that, dark star passed out about 6 or 7 meters from the marshes. His side was bleeding, and he was breathing shallowly....
Galar
Galar was basking in the sun when he over heard some crows talking about a wounded wolf nearby. Worried it may be someone he knew, Galar slid into the water and headed for where the crows spoke of.
The large alligator emerged from the murky liquid and clambered on shore. After a bit of nosing around, he came across the bloodied form of a familiar wolf. "Dark Star!" Galar said suddenly, recognizing his friend. Clambering closer, he nudged the wolf with his large blunt head.
Dark Star
Slowly and painfully, he regained conciousness. He opened his eyes, and at first not realizing it was Galar, jumped from surpise and growled. But, looking him up and down, he weakly smiled and said. "Galar, just the alligator I was hoping to meet." He sat up, slowly and wincing. "Have you seen Kana, or Sivinith, or Bandit? What about Tri-Tundra?" He asked as if the world depended on Galar's answer. He sighed. "I suppose you will want me to explain?" He asked shakily.............
Galar
If an alligator could have a concerned and saddened expression, Galar would have one right now. "I'm afraid I haven't seen any of them... to tell the truth, I haven't seen any of my other friends for a long time either. I was begining to wonder what happened to all the wolves." He replied, looking down a moment, then back at Dark Star. "Please explain; and if I can help in anyway, I will." he said sincerely. He was worried about Dark Star's injuries, but there was nothing he could do for his friend concerning that, besides protect him from other alligators in the area.
Dark Star
He nodded sadly. In a broken sentence, he said "If.....if you........if you haven't seen them...well, there is nothing you can do really." He looked to Galar, and continued. "See, I had caught 3 deer with the help of my friend Tri-Tundra and Nyscee, and we were going to feast with our snow-leopard friends. Sivinith, and all her cubs, including Bandit because he kinda is one, long story, and my mate Kana, me, tri- tundra, nyscee, and star and night, were all going to eat at my packlands. Star, Night, Bandit, and the cubs wouldn't have eaten much, so we would have had enough, if we had gotten that far." He paused, and then continued once again looking extemely puzzled. "Because Nyscee did not know Sivinith, I told her to stay in the den, and that I would come get her if sivinith didn't mind her eating with her cubs. She didn't mind, so I went back to the den to get her. They were all gone when I came back. Then when I turned around, Nyscee was gone too. I have spent many nights upturning every rock of sparkling creek.Until I stumbled while looking around breeve ridges. I guess it wasn't a stumble really, more of a downfall plummet. I guess I had been knocked out for a day or two, then I slowly made my way towards the woodland farm. I don't remember getting here." He looked at his wounds. His head was the only thing lifted up. The rest of his body was severly damaged. This was one of the only rests he had had for the week it took him to inch painfully this far. He dropped his head with a thump to the ground. Then with a faint smile, said "You weren't going to eat me right?"
Galar
He was shocked to hear Dark Star's story, and felt terrible for his situation. But he couldn't help but give an alligator grin at the wolf's last comment, "Well lets just say it's a good thing I recognized you." Galar joked, then spoke a bit more serious. "If you are hungry, I have some food stored underwater. And I'll keep a lookout for Bandit and Kana; I know what they look like. As for the others... I can ask my friends to search for them." He suggested, trying all he could to help. He only wished he could travel on land as well as a wolf could. After a moment of thought, Galar spoke again, "I could call for Starlit; I'll bet she can find your friends for you. And get you help."
Dark Star
He nodded, very greatful to know Galar so well. "That would probably be a good idea to call starlit." He then sighed and shook his head. "I only wish that I would have been more careful up at Breeve Ridges, I thought for sure I whiffed Sivinith." With that, he laid his head down again, and closed his pale grey eyes. His story had tired him out.
Galar
He was going to ask who Sivinith was, but it seemed his friend was tired. Galar thought it best not to question him anymore until he got some rest. Turning his head away from Dark Star, Galar let out a very loud bellowing roar to call for Starlit Eyes, and Flurry if she were around. The sound traveled far.
Dark Star
Everytime Dark Star moved it hurt. He might have broken ribs, or a broken paw. His head trobbed painfully, and he had many minor cuts or deep scratches. He would have howled, but it hurt.
Starlit Eyes
She had never heard Galar make that noise before, but she had no doubt it was him calling for her. As quick as she could, she ran for the Marshes.
It took a while, but she finally reached Dark Star and Galar with her legs and underside splattered with mud and plant matter. "Dark Star!" she barked in alarm, seeing what condition he was in. "What happened? Where is everyone? Wait, wait, you need help first." she crouched down near him, "Can you stand? You must come with me to see the Lady." She spoke rapidly because she was surprised to see Dark Star and concerned for his well being.
Dark Star
It took a few minutes before Dark Star finally comprehended all that starlit eyes had said. About everyone? He would explain later. He sat up verrrrrrry slowwwwwly. He winced and said "I have made it this far from breve ridges, a bit while more won't be terrible." But he didnt know the half of it.He knew that he could only put weight on 3 of his paws, and his side was badly damaged. His headache made things even worse. He wasn't sure how much harder it could get. "I don't know if I can stand, exactly." He took a deep breath and slowly got up to his 3 paws. He was shaky though, and almost felt that he was going to fall back down.
Starlit Eyes
She quickly stood beside Dark Star to help brace him if he should need it. "I'll walk beside you and help you back to the Woodland Farm." she studied him a moment, then suggested, "Perhaps Galar can give you a ride across the marsh. That will cut the distance in half."
Dark Star
Dark Star shook his head. "No, Galar has done enough." He had been stable for a minute or two, when he collapsed once more. He got up again, and the only way to keep from doubling over was to wince, grit his teeth and bare it. Slowly he began to make his way across the marsh with Starlit. He had gotten pretty far, when blood started slowly oozing from his mouth. He stopped and painfully coughed harshly. If this continued on the way, he would have hardly any blood left in him. He hoped the lady had the supplies to help. He continued on, staggering until he reached the end of the marsh.
Starlit Eyes
She stayed beside him, fretting and worried over his dire condition. She was even more alarmed to see blood begin to ooze from his mouth. "Hang in there." she whispered with her ears laid back in fear. "I'll take you to the House; my master can keep a better watch on you there." she pointed out. As she headed for the House at the Woodland Farm, she stayed near Dark Star incase he needed help.
Dark Star
He followed along behind. He took deep breaths, and for the moment it stopped him from hacking every yard or so. He nodded to Starlit when she said about the house, and was about to bark to Galar goodbye and thanks, when he decided against it. Too much blood. He thought. "I'll thank him later."
