Storm Alarm
The large she-alpha padded in, stumbling a bit and panting. She made it over to the spot where she usually saw Galar, and waited. Her jaws and throat hurt a bit, so she didn't feel like howling.
Galar, Akili, & Dima
Akili was resting in the sun and spotted Storm Alarm, "Galar! Dima! Storm Alarm is here!" she called out in a chirping-croaking type noise. Then she looked to the wolfess, "Hello! How are you?"
Galar soon appeared and clawed his way happily onto shore until only his tail was submerged in the water, "Storm Alarm! Long time no see!" he greeted with much enthusiasm, "So how have you been?"
Dima was slower to reach the shore but he made it and climbed up. None of them knew what rabies was, and they didn't have any reason to fear it anyways.
Storm Alarm
Storm Alarm sat back on her haunches and looked at the three reptiles. Her eyes settled then on the water with an anxious sort of look. "I've had some hard time. What about yourself?" she managed to speak out even though her throat seemed almost numb. A strange fear was coming over her as she watched the water, but she couldn't explain it.
Galar, Akili, & Dima
Galar watched her a bit closer now; something seemed wrong. "We've been alright... but... what's the matter? Something seems to be troubling you." the reptile asked with genuine concern.
Akili tilted her head a bit in a curious manner and waited to hear what Storm Alarm might say.
Storm Alarm
She shook her head, feeling quite strange. Animosity. The emotion filled her suddenly, though she couldn't explain it and could find no reason why she needed to. She took a stumbling step forward as her eyes locked onto Akili who had tilted her head. With an akward-sounding snarl, the wolf staggered forward again and plunged her sick-scented muzzle down towards the younger alligator to crush her skull between her powerful jaws.
Galar, Akili, & Dima
Galar had no way of knowing what was the matter; but it was obvious to him now that something was terribly wrong with his friend. Her sudden, malicious laden lunge at Akili prompted an attack from Galar. He had no intention of bringing harm to his friend, but deep instincts overruled rational thought at the moment. He wasn't a mother gator, but he had grown fond enough of the little gators to protect them. That, and Storm Alarm's new demanor and actions reeked of danger.
The alligator struck like lightning; his broad head snapped to the side as his jaws sprung open. Then, before the wolfess could reach Akili, the strong jaws came close over part of her head. He was in control of his actions enough so that his jaws didn't crush her skull, but the force of the lunge he made dragged his teeth through her fur and tore her skin, and very nearly crushed her windpipe. A deep rumbling growl roared in his throat, and he held fast to the wolf.
Akili had given the distress 'chirp' that baby alligators and crocodiles do when they are in danger. She scuttled into the water with her brother.
Storm Alarm
The wolfess tried to snap her jaws, but couldn't since Galar had bitten down so much upon her head. She didn't try to spring back, as almost anything else would when struck at, but she began to fight and thrash her body to try and free her head. She snarled raked her claws over the reptile's snout.
Galar, Akili, & Dima
Galar gave a hissing roar, holding tightly to his friend. He held her until Akili and Dima had scrambled back a good distance and were in the temporary safety of the water. Only then did he let go of the raving mad wolfess. "Storm Alarm!" he said sharply, wondering what on earth could have made her so mad as to attack Akili.
Storm Alarm
She lurched back an instant after Galar let go, but only because of the moment from her struggles. Her eyes, now looking very dark indeed with the pupils so dialated, stared at Galar. She didn't hesitate before lunging forward once more to sink her fangs into his snout.
Flurry and pups
Silver Moon sprinted in first but stopped waiting for her mother who entered with Eclipse and Frozen. Flurry saw what was happeing and whispered. "Go in the bushes and hide. Do not let her get near you. Stay quiet." She sqaid for she smelt rabis. "Leave Galar alone." She snarls stepping into view after the pups hide. She hoped Spark would hide as well. She knew to try and avoid not to be scratched or bitten by the femora for she didnt want rabis.
Galar, Akili, & Dima
Galar didn't have the sense of smell that could tell him his friend was sick with a virus. He knew she didn't look very well, but he was still confused. "Storm Alarm, stop this!" he roared out, then thrashed his bulky head from side to side as she bit down on his snout. The force was enough to throw the wolfess to the ground if she tried to hold on.
Akili spotted Flurry and clambered out of the water. She made a quick gallop over the ground and stopped infront of her friend. Despite having short legs, an alligator her size could gallop rather fast over the ground, which was odd to see. "Flurry! That friend of Galar's is insane! She greeted us... then she tried to attack me! Galar stopped her, but she won't talk to us!"
Dima was quite disturbed, and stayed hidden in the reeds. He watched Storm Alarm tensely.
Starlit Eyes & Spark
Starlit Eyes knew there was troulbe when the rank scent of the virus hit her nostrils. She knew it well enough, and what it could do to animals. "Spark! Stay back with the pups!" she whispered sharply.
Spark obeyed and scampered over to the pups and crouched down.
Starlit looked to Flurry with deep concern showing in her eyes. Then she looked back to Galar, "Go into the water!" looking down at Akili, she spoke to her as well, "Hide in the vegitation and don't move! She won't find you if you don't move."
Flurry
She nodded to Akili. "Yes listen to Starlit. That wolf has rabis. Other wolves like me can catch it if we get bit or scratched by one with rabis so well have to be careful. She cant control her self and is going crazy and shell eventually die." Flurry whispered and stood as still as she could.
Storm Alarm
Storm Alarm was flung to the ground and kicked her legs out wildly to get back up. After regaining her feet a moment, she stumbled and fell back on her haunches. A second attempt brought her snarling to her feet once more. The foam bubbled out from her partially paralyzed jaws more now as she snarled and snapped out at her long-time friend. She tried to charge Galar, but the thick mire and her own poor coordination caused her to fall once more. Paralysis was spreading over her body quickly, making it harder to move. The wolf struggled but couldn't rise again. Sitting in a halfway up, Storm Alarm snarled and snapped at Galar, whom she couldn't reach now.
Flurry and pups
Flurry watches and so do the pups who are now huddled near Spark but Silver Moon runs towards Storm Alarm to get a better look but is snatched up by her mother. "No dont go near her or youll suffer the same fate if you get bit." Flurry warns Silver Moon.
Galar, Akili, & Dima
Galar's defening roar slowly subsided to a deep rumble that stood out strongly when he spoke again, looking towards Flurry and Starlit, "What's wrong with her? She was fine just a moment ago..." The alligator stated, deeply disturbed and worried about his friend. Dark blood oozed from the wound on his snout, but it was no more than a papercut would be to a human.
Akili stayed stone-still. Being a reptile, is was rather easy for her to do this.
Dima stayed in the reeds. His attention was focused on Silver Moon now, who he just noticed for the first time. He had never seen such a small canine before.
Starlit Eyes & Spark
Starlit was afraid to talk and get Storm Alarm's attention. But it seemed that the wolf couldn't get up. Gulping once, she spoke out with keeping her eyes on the stricken wolf, "She has rabies. It makes animals go mad, then... then it kills them." She put her ears back a bit, then looked at the blood on Galar's snout. A sudden chill ran down her spine. She didn't know that reptiles weren't affected by rabies. "Flurry, he got bit!" she whispered in an urgent tone to her friend.
Spark stayed hidden with the others, trembling slightly in fear.
Flurry and pups
Frozen and Eclipse stayed quiet with Spark.
Flurry set down Silver Moon and whispered to Starlit. "Yeh but he dosent smell. Mabey his kind cant get it. He does live in the water and we do live on land so mabey and hopefully its different."
Silver Moon stayed close to Flurry now looking at the alligators. "Mom re those alligators?" She asked Flurry.
Galar, Akili, & Dima
Galar watched Storm Alarm for a moment as a look of sadness could be detected in his eyes. "Poor Storm Alarm; what a wicked thing to have happen! I wonder where your son is." he sighed, knowing she wouldn't reply to him in any form of an answer. His speckled eyes turned towards his other friends, "You've brought the little one! I'm afraid this is bad timing though; perhaps we could move off a ways... away from her." He honestly didn't want to leave his sick friend, but there wasn't anything he could do for her. And he meant to return to her later, though it would do her no good.
Akili slowly relaxed and turned her attention to Spark and the two pups hiding near him. She took a few steps over to them, "Hello!"
Storm Alarm
She tried several times to pull herself up, but it was obvious she couldn't do it. Seemingly oblivious to anything she heard, she continued to snarl and snap at Galar. When the others spoke, she turned her head back and tried again to get out while snarling and snapping in their direction.
Starlit Eyes & Spark
Starlit nodded, "Good idea. She won't be snarling and snapping like that with no one around, I'm sure." She paused to reply to Flurry, "I hope that's true. It would be horrible to lose Galar. And just imagine what he might do if he were rabid!" Starlit shook the thought from her head and traveled further down the shore of the marsh until Storm Alarm was out of sight and sound.
Spark was hesitant to move at first, but then got up and followed after Starlit. He stayed with the two pup too.
Flurry nods to Galar and calls for her pups to follow. She also nodded to Starlit as she spoke.
Eclipse stayed by Sparks side and whispered. "Spark the alligators wont bite us like that wolf right?" He asked for he had seen Glar bite Storm Alarms head which had made him alittle nervous. "That was cool!" Frozen said speaking of the same thing as Eclipse. Silver Moon ran ahead of her mother and stopped when her mother told her that was far enough for Flurry had thought this was a good spot to stop so she did. Silver Moon smiles. "Hello! Im Silver Moon!" She says puffing out her chest alittle as she spoke and ran to the water with almost ultimatly no fear. She was the bravest of the bunch. "Whats your name?" She asked her. Frozen bounded closer for a better look but not as far as his sister while Eclipse stayed with Spark.
Galar returned to the water and glided slowly through it, following parallel with his friends on shore. When they stopped, he pulled himself out of the water completely and lumbered over to them. "So these are your new pups, Flurry? What a nice bunch of wolves!" He pointed out, trying to compliment her.
Akili had started off in a gallop to follow the wolves, but soon got tired half way over and ended up walking in an akward shuffle towards them. It was hard to walk on land with a low body and legs that stuck out on the sides. At least her light weight made it easier. "I'm Akili!" she piped up with much enthusiasm. "That's Galar, and that's..."
"Dima." the other young alligator cut in. He had climbed onto Galar's back to get a ride over to the others. He and Akili were getting larger now, but Dima found it hard to swim so he was inclined to miss a free ride. "Who are you?"
Silver Moon runs ruight up to Akili, Galar and Dima and sits. Her white pelt shimmered in the sun as the black markings on her face and dark brown streaks that circle around her eyes did to. She puffed out her broad chest more and raised her husky like tail. She had a slightly blunter and thicker mug then her brothers. "Thats Eclipse and Frozen!" She said looking at both her brothers as she stated their names. She figured Galar, Akili, and Dima knew her mom, Spark, and Starlit already.
Frozen looked almost exactly like a wolf not to much if any husky showing in him. He was mostly white with a dark brown ruff and hackles, black guard hairs around his neck make his fur there look silver. He watched Galar and the others with his icy blue orbs. "You guys are big!" He said finnaly loseing his fear as well.
Eclipse was all black with puffs of white around his eyes and flanks. He was built mostly like a wolf. His blue eye and green eye watch Glalar and the others but he stays quiet from beside Spark as he waits for Sparks answer. He was still a bit nervouse.
Flurry smiles and nods. "Thanks Galar." She says waging her tail.
Silver Moon watched the water for a moment. "Wow so you guys live in the water? Why not land?" She asked full of questions as she wagged her small husky like tail.
"They make me awfully nervous, to tell you the truth." Spark began, in reply to Eclipse. "But... I guess you can trust these three here not to bite or anything; well, unless you bite them first I suppose." he pointed out, recalling how Galar had taken Storm Alarm's head in his jaws.
Starlit sat down and watched them, listening to the chatting.
Flurry smiles and watches.
Eclipse nods to Spark. "Then lets go say hello!" He says wagging his tail faintly as he began to pad over to his brother Frozen.
Frozen waited for the alligatores responses.
Silver Moon was intrested and all but then she just thought. THere had to be more then 3 alligators here so she grins. "Oh I see a mouse! Ill be right back!" She lies and runs into the brush.
Flurry smirks. "Ok dont go far its dangerous." She said unsuspectingly thinking Silver Moon would stay near by.
Silver Moon had heared the term mouse befor even though she hadent really seen to many except mabey one or two run by the porch when she was at the Woodland Farm. "Ok!" She yips and then the mischevous pup pads further into the brush and back to the ater far from the others and she follows it searching for more alligators or something of intrest. She was very brave for a pup.
"Well, we're very good swimmers." Akili pointed out, "So it's easier for us to live in water. We can be fast on land... but it's much harder to move around for us." She explained, "Plus, there's alot of good food in the water, like fish!"
Dima gave a slight nod and said, "You sould see just how big alligators can get; Galar's not even the largest in the marsh!"
Galar turned his head, watching Silver Moon. If she strayed much further down the bank, she would be in another alligator's territory.
Thats cool!" Frozen yipped.
Eclipse nodded in agreement. "Wow you alligators sure are cool! I guess were lucky we met you. Are all alligators this freindly?" Eclipse says still a bit nervous but warming up to them.
Flurry smiles thinking Silver Moon was near by and not noticing her wandering.
Silver Moon continued on and began to run further away while she began giggleing.
Starlit didn't notice just how far Silver Moon was going. She continued to stay quiet and listen to the others chat.
Spark stayed near Eclipse, reluctantly moving closer when the pup did. He felt safer with all the others here.
Akili shook her head, "Oh, well there are ones that are kinda nice... but, well, not really to us. And there aren't any other alligators that will talk to other creatures. The momma gators are really nice to their babies, and their dads are protective of them, but they'll eat any other little gators; like us."
Dima was about to add something to the topic whenhe was suddenly toppled off Galar's back as the large alligator turned suddenly to the side and dove into deeper water. His huge tail thrashed and sent water every which way as he began to swim swiftly away. Dima scampered up on shore and looked wide-eyed in the direction where Galar had dissapeared.
Silver Moon had entered the territory of another male alligator. And this alligator was lying patiently next to the shore where the water was very deep because of a drop off there. Galar knew he was there because his snout, like all other alligators, was sensative to vibrations in the water. Just as the other male made a lunge that would have caught and crushed Silver Moon, Galar made his own attack and caught the male around his shoulder. Soon, the murky water was flying about as the two fought. It was hard to tell who had who, but the roaring told that this was a big fight.
Flurry turned and heared the thrashing. She looked to Frozen and Eclipse. "Stay here with Spark." She said and darted off to where the fighting was.
Silver Moon whimpered and backed away from the shore "Uh oh." She said worridly.
Flurry grabbed the frightened pup and set her far from the shore away fromt he water. Her eyes showed she was worried and hoped Galar would be ok. "Come on Galar you can beat him!"
Frozen nodded but was tempted to follow but reluctantly obeyed his mother.
Eclipse whimpered slightly and huddled close to Spark.
Frozen looked to Akili and Dima. "What happened over there?"
Akili and Dima looked over wide-eyed at the fighting. "Galar went into another gator's territory!"
The roaring and hissing went on for nearly a minute as the water was turned muddy by their struggles. Galar broke free from the fight once he saw Silver Moon was back away from the other gator's striking range. He charged through the water and back into his territory, but the other male followed. Galar arched his tail and back up and puffed out his throat. He gave a loud bellow at the charging male who hesitated. Galar struck out at him in a mock attack, and the other alligator gave in and swam off, dissapearing under the water.
Dima narrowed his eyes and grinned like Galar always did, making a smug appearance. "He showed him who's boss." Akili nodded in agreement.
Once Galar was sure the other had left, he glided over to the shore where his friend were and climbed up. He had several puncture wounds here and there, but they were insignificant injuries. "Are you alright? That was close!" Galar said with a heavy sigh, "He's pretty aggressive right now. He's got a few mates who have just laid their eggs, so he's all conserned with protecting his territory. Of course, he always is, but he's even more so right now." The alligator explained.
Flurry carryed Silver Moon saftley into Galars territory. "That was very close." She said. She set Silver Moon down who knew she had done wrong.
"Thanks for helping me and sorry for getting you in a fight Galar. I just wanted to explore." She explains her ears and tail low.
Eclipse listened. Frozen had witnessed some of the fight. "Wow your strong Galar!" He interupted excitedly.
Starlit Eyes gave a relieved sigh, seeing just how close Silver Moon came to death. "Those alligators sure do blend in with their surroundings! I never even saw him there."
Spark nodded to Eclipse's statement, "Yeah, I'd say! That was insane; all the roaring and splashin! I'd sure hate to get tangled with an alligator." he said sincerely. "So where do they keep their eggs? I wonder how big they are." Spark questioned, gaining some courage.
Galar gave one of his grins, "Don't worry about it. As long as you're alright. It's too bad that the other alligators won't make an alliance with the wolves." Galar said with a slight sigh.
Dima crawled closer to Spark, "The eggs are under a big mound of dirt and vegetation. They are pretty big, too. But I wouldn't go sniffing them out; the momma alligators will eat you."
Akili listened to them talk, then spotted some movement, "I'll be right back." she said and slipped into the water, swimming away.
Flurry listened for she wasnt really in a talkitive mood at the moment though she smiled.
Silver Moon was glad Galar wasnt mad and ran to the water and went deep enough to her neck. She didnt know how to swim yet. "How do you guys swim like that?" She asked.
Eclipse listened. "Wow!!!!!!" he exclaimed.
Frozen listened but then watched Akili slip away. He grinned and ran out onto a log that was over some deep water. He didnt realize how rotton it was untill the top collasped under his weight then the bottom was about to so he leapt trying to get to shore althoguh he landed in deep water.
Flurry noticed and sprang into the water fast and swam towards her son. Boy were her pups very troublsome.
Galar was about to reply to Silver Moon, but then his sensitive snout felt the large vibration of Frozen fall into the water after the log broke. "Just a minute!" he said to the she pup as he wheeled around. Without realizing it, the large alligator had lashed out his tail straight at Silver Moon while he was turning. He slipped under the water and broad his large snout up under the pup and lifted up. Then he glided towards the shore to set him down.
Dima watched all of this and made a point, "Wolf babbies are just like alligator babbies; they are always getting in to trouble." He gave a grin.
Flurry smiled relived and swam to shore. "Thanks Galar." She said relived. She nodded in aggreement with Dima's comment. Eclipse had never caused any trouble yet. It was mainly Silver Moon and Frozen.
Silver Moon was knocked over y Galars tail but quickly stood. "I wanna learn how to swim!" She piped up.
Eclipse grinned watching Galar save his brother. he was glad Frozen was ok.
Frozen sputtered up some water when on shore. "Thanks Galar." He said and shook his fur dry. He heared Silver Moon. "I need to learn to swim!" He said after her.
Eclipse smiled and looked to Spark. "Do you think you can show me how to swim?" He asked his freind.
Galar nodded, "Sure! But... hhhhmmm." he paused, studying the pups. "Well, we swim by moving our tails side to side. But I don't think your tails are quite strong enough."
Dima tilted his head in thought before getting an idea, "I know! I saw a duck swimming once. They kicked their feet in the water and it made them move. Of course, they can just float on the water. I don't think wolves can."
Galar added in a bit more, "Well, wait, I think I know. I've seen Flurry swim before! And Starlit! You guys just kick your legs too. It's pretty slow, but I think that's the only way wolves can swim." he pointed out. "Just hop in the water then and start kicking your legs. I'll stay close by incase you sink." He ensured them.
After several minutes Akili returned, darting through the water, "Humans are here! Humans are here!" she chirped out loudly.
Starlit lifted her muzzle up and tested the air. "She's right." The hybrid announced after analyzing the scents. "A human; at least one. And two... no, four other canines! Two are wolves, the others must be hybrids." She turned to Flurry. "They are still a good distance away; we could easily run away if they came closer. But do you think it's safe to have to pups here; could they ran fast enough?"
Spark listened to his friend talk but didn't say anything. He didn't mind whether they stayed or left.
*the large hybrid sat in the grass. it smelled of wolves over there. why must his master make him fight thosel ike his mother? putting his tail between his legs and lowering his ears he planted himself on the ground. slinking forward he kept a distance but letr himself be seen.*
Starlit Eyes quickly noticed the hybrid and raised her head high, but let her tail hang down in a friendly way. He wasn't showing aggression; rather, he was actually showing submission which eased Starlit's fear. "I see you must be a pet." she pointed out, seeing the two collars he had on, and picking up the scent of human. She too carried the strong scent of human, but had no collar. "Where is your master? He wouldn't be one to hurt us, would he?" She knew Remnance's master was a male because scent told her that. But that is all she could tell.
The little spaniel wagged his stumpy tail, seeing that Remnance wasn't a threat to them. "I'm Spark." he greeted. As long as he wasn't threatened or frightened by anyone, he could be overfriendly.
Dima was too low to the ground to see Remnance over all the tall reeds and grass. He stayed motionless and waited to see whether all was well or if he needed to flee and hide.
Galar was plenty larger enough to see over the vegetatoin and spot Remnance. He waited for the hybrid to speek before he added in anything.
Akili climbed up onto Galar's head and watched Remnance. But with a flick of his head, Galar flung the smaller alligator back down into the water. Undescouraged, she clambered up onto his back instead.
i am a pet but i do not wish to be. he wants us o hunt wolves and such but i can't. my mother is a wolf . i can't go after a species that is part of me.
Starlit Eyes quickly tensed up. "He's a hunter, of wolves? Well..." she studied him then spoke out after carefully thinking, "I will trust your words then. If your master isn't too close by, we can make a run for it back to our territory." Starlit suggested.
Spark pulled his silky ears back in alarm. He wasn't too afraid of any human because he wasn't a wolf and was normally greeted warmly by any human; hunter or not. But he was scared for his friends.
that would be great! *he wouldn't mind getting away from this human that had put two collors on him.*
Flurry watches and nods. She looks to Starlit and then her pups. "We have to go now." She tlls them.
Silver Moon sighs disguriged. "But we wre going to learn how to swim." She argues flattening her ears.
Eclipse became a bit nervous and obeyed. "I dont wanna be hunted... wait what does that mean?" He asks but stays close to the others.
Frozen grins and leaps into the water and kicks his legs. at first he struggled but he eventually was swimming yet sunk every few seconds but then swam again. He was learning.
Flurry looked to Frozen and Silver Moon. "Well Starlit mabey you can show him the way and I will hide with the pups so they can stay longer. If the humans get to close we can flee as well." She then turns to Eclipse and quickly explains what 'hunted' means.
Eclipse backed up. "Oh." He whispers.
Aura had followed Remeanance and stopped. She didnt want to hunt her own kind either but she didnt think it was a good idea to leave the man. "Remanance but we can get in trouble if we run away... I am not going to hunt our own kind though..." She whispers to her freind Remanance a bit nervously.
i never wanted to be wit hhumans. they took my sister away from me. do you know what it was like in that lab. smelling fear the hwole day hearing the howls of pain from all the others.
She listened to Remanance and spoke. "No... but my first owner was nice to my mom, sister, and I. My mom would fight at the pit for him though and then he dissapeered and we got seperated by these other humans and now I am here. But do you think if we run away well get introuble? If we do I am going to leave to look for my family." She says. She wasnt so sure about running away for she had never been in the wild befor but she wasnt afraid just unsure.
Starlit Eyes listened a moment before speaking, "I'll show you the way back to my home, if either of you want to follow. My master is very kind; she won't try to hurt you or capture you." She explained quickly then headed for the Front Yard of the Woodland Farm.
Spark decided to stay with Flurry and the pups. Since the pups were swimming in the water with the alligators, Spark jumped in as well.
*keeping on the lookout fr the man the hybrid followed. taking long strides in a jog.*
She sighed. "I hope I dont get in trouble..." She whispered and followed staying near Remanance.
Galar watched the others leave then turned his attention to Frozen. "There, you're getting the hang of it." he encouraged. "But..." The large reptile paused as he listened to a low-pitched noise, "I need to go now; I should be back later on though." he said quickly, "Good bye!" without waiting for a reply, he slipped under the water and was gone.
Akili floated on the serface, "I wonder what made that noise I heard. I heard it last year too but Galar didn't act that way."
Dima looked at the pups and Flurry, "I've got to go as well; to hunt. Galar can go such a long time without eatting, but Akili and me have to eat allot!" Akili agreed, "Yeah, now that you mention it. I'm awfully hungry. We'll see you later though! Bye!" The two youngsters soon left as well.
