Gloria

Gloria swam through the marsh at her leasure. She was very large but she stood out because she wasn't normal crocodile colors. So how she made it this long who knows. Currently she was on the dry ground tail in the water and mouth wide open sunbathing.

Galar & Erathi

Galar was use to being one of the bigger males in the marsh, but even pushing fifteen feet as he was, and boasting a hefty winter weight of 830 pounds, the alligator was still dwarfed by this female invader. He didn't mind so much though, given that Gloria was not competing for the same breeding partners as he was, and even if he did care, there was little he could do against a crocodile that was so much larger than himself. Conceding to that fact, the dark-skinned reptile had glided close to the shore, a few healthy feet away from the much lighter scaled female.

"Nice morning, huh?" Galar commented as he hefted his weight out of the water, "These calm days don't come often in the winter." The sun was quick to begin warming his brown-green hide, though the second the wind picked up, that cold winter air would ruin their sunbathing.

Above the pair, perched on the sun-bleached branch of a dead swamp oak, Erathi was watching the interaction with curiosity. The peregrine falcon had come to the Marsh to hunt, and to look for any stray felines that might help their cause. But this pale-scaled behemoth had caught her eye and now she hunkered down to listen to their conversation.

Gloria

Gloria mouth was wide open as she took in the rays of the sun. Alot harder being a lighter color. Very Nice, but summer can't come fast enoughShe says calmly.

Galar & Erathi

"Agreed." Galar rumbled back emphatically. He'd always hated the cooler months, even with the benefit of the thermal waters. They just didn't compare to the relaxing heat of the sun or the balming warmth of a midsummer day. "What do you call yourself? I'm Galar." The gator let his legs sprawl out on either side of him as he relaxed fully against the ground.

Gloria

She was relaxed, Galar did not scare her plus he was a male. It was the other females she warded away. GloriaShe said.

Galar & Erathi

"Gloria." Galar repeated the name for the sake of memorizing it. A normal gator might have gone quiet at that point to enjoy what little warmth such a calm day like this could bring, but Galar was not know for keeping his trap shut. "Do you nest around here? My summer territory overlaps this area, and quiet a few of the ladies nest around these banks."

Erathi began to preen a few feathers, also enjoy the lack of wind as it allowed her to straighten out her feathers. She still kept an ear on the pair, waiting for her chance to budge in.

Gloria

Gloria was calm and quiet. I have a spot just there but I have not had babies in a long timeShe said.

Galar & Erathi

Erathi saw her opportunity and seized it. Cocking her head and looking down at the pair, the falcon raised her voice and chimed in before Galar could get the chance, "If motherhood is something you're seeking, I know of a sizeable bachelor group in need of a female like yourself." She could almost see the disappointment in Galar's eyes as she tried to steal away his chance at breeding, even if it would have been doomed from the start because of their vastly differing genetics. "I know of a secluded place with an abundance of thermal springs and next to no predators. Guaranteed nesting sites and constant protection from egg thieves."

"I'm great at deterring egg thieves." Galar pointed out as he tried to gauge just how far Erathi was from the water, and if he would be able to lunge out and make a snack of the bird. Unfortunately for him, she was too far from the edge of the water, and he was too dulled by the cold to even attempt such an attack.

Gloria

Gloria too now was looking for that animal who spokeI like it here enough I have no wants to move creatureShe said.

Galar & Erathi

Erathi wasn't deterred by Gloria's initial reluctance, though Galar was certainly happy to hear that the large crocodile wanted to stay. Wisely gauging the distance between the sizeable reptiles, the falcon drifted down from her perch and landed on the sun-warmed earth a few feet in front of the pair. "Could guaranteed meals sway your decision?" She quirked her head at Gloria, whilst keeping tabs on where Galar was. "Fish, deer, rodents - you name your dinner, and we'll have it brought to you.

"There's plenty to eat here." Galar countered, while also gauging the distance between himself and the morsel of feathers. If he were any warmer, the alligator would have made the attempt to lunge forward and snag her. "I've got half a moose cached nearby actually, under a log."

Gloria

She watched the bird.I don't need assistance with food, I can share Galars plush I like to catch my own and ill gladly eat a bird like you or a canine or feline if given the chance. I only like others of my species or similiar no other species is safe with me And to show that she was up and ran at the bird and attempted to grab her in her mouth.

Galar & Erathi

"We could always bring you live prey, if yo-" Erathi's attempt to persuade Gloria ended rather abruptly when the crocodile suddenly lunged forward, jaws agape. The falcon reacted swiftly, if not a bit clumsily in her haste to escape, jumping backwards and frantically flapping her wings to gain altitude and lift herself away from those deadly, snapping jaws. She gave an indignant screech as she wheeled above the pair, "It's your loss, lizard! Live here while you may, but sooner or later that bright hide of yours will catch the eye of the humans!"

Galar hissed at the raptor, but made no move to attack as Gloria had. The crocodile had made her point very clear, much to the alligator's amusement. "Never mind what that bird says." He ignored the bird's shrieking as he sidled forward a few paces and plopped back down, "I have a good ear for the humans, and know of a few good hiding places where their boats cant get to."

Gloria

She glared at the bird. And i've killed plenty of those beingsShe hissed. She settles back down soon after. Human's don't scare me, they make for a good snackShe said.

Galar

He raised a scaly brow at Gloria, now ignoring the falcon as she fluttered away in an indignant huff. "Snacks, huh? You're a brave one, Gloria." The alligator recalled his many encounters with the two-leggers, and how he'd normally shy away and hide from them. "You have to watch for their boomsticks, though. That's the only thing about them that scares me."

Gloria

She smiled at him.Im very unexpected giving my color, I think they try to catch me alive and that tis their mistakeShe said with a smirk.

Galar

Galar was turning a new eye to her unique hide, "They do seem attracted to unusual things like that. That's what my dog friends tell me, anyway." At her smile, Galar's eyes further squinted into a merry expression, just tickled to be getting such attention from a female. "Given your size, I don't doubt you can handle a few of the two-leggers. You could probably even take down some of their smaller boats, I reckon."

Gloria

She smirks.we could take on any human that comes into our territoryShe said.

Galar

"We could." Galar agrees with a bubbling sense of confidence. His bright eyes light up and he shifts himself until he's facing Gloria more directly, "I normally slip into the waters when they come, but if we work together and catch them off guard, they'd be no match for us."

Gloria

Gloria listened.it would be fun and eventually maybe they'll stay awayShe said.

Galar

"I like your way of thinking." Galar rumbled cheerfully, "If we eat enough of them, surely they'll learn to keep away from our territory." Near this large crocodile, Galar's confidence against the two-leggers began to grow.

Gloria

Gloria didn't care what type of croco or alligator Galar was they were all similiar even if she was bigger because of her species. We could if you want bring some young into this marshShe said.

Galar

A look of surprise crossed the alligator's eyes, and he found himself flabbergasted for a second. Was she choosing him as a father for her next batch of eggs? Galar's confidence climbed higher, and it carried as a faint rumble in his voice, "That would be a fine idea." He glanced around, trying to remember where exactly all his females usually had their nests, and where a good site for Gloria might be - not that she would need any help in claiming turf, given she was far larger than any lady gators in his harem. "No human will threaten young of mine- er, ours."

Gloria

She had already asserted herself in his harem because she had made it clear of her position to the smaller females and they gave her her way. If they do Ill eat themShe says.

Galar

He enjoyed how feisty Gloria was, and had no doubt she'd be an excellent protector of their offspring when it came time to egg laying. "Speaking of food, I do have a few good caches around here. Half a moose, and part of a deer." Though he wasn't terribly hungry himself in this chilly weather, the alligator was more than happy to share his waterlogged meals with his new lady.

Gloria

Gloria was content as she sunbathed. I am perfectly content for now but thank youShe said.

Galar

"Maybe later then?" Galar returned, as he slowly closed his eyes and basked in the rare warmth of a winter's sun.
