bael
The product of Ard-Rai and Orinoco, the young caiman was a strapping fellow. No he wasn't the largest, or the strongest, or the handsomest of his clutch, but from the combination of such parents, Bael wasn't at all bad... though maybe a little average. He wouldn't mature much over 6 feet long and would remain a drab green color similar to the majority of his other 22 siblings, excluding the few that had inherited some more unique colors and patterns.
Bael, as he was named, enjoyed the confines of the murky water of the Marsh. Daylight was fading and with the darkness, the temperatures were dropping to a sharp chill that he wasn't used to. The water was cozy warm in comparison to the autumn air. As he swam near the water's surface, Bael kept each of his large eyes focused on the surroundings around him. Though a Caiman's eyesight isn't a very notable feature, Bael had no trouble distinguishing the shadowy figures of trees on the water's banks. Other than the occasional fish, there didn't seem to be anyone about... but that didn't seem to bother the young Caiman, it just meant no one to bother him or get in the way.
