Chessa and Litharaz

Every night in my dreams
I see you. I feel you.
That is how I know you go on.

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on.

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on...

" Lith! Hurry up! " The small pup called out to her brother. A cold breeze ripped through the Eskers, ruffling the tufty fur of the young American White Shepherd and her brother. She wimpered and shivered, tears still fresh in her eyes. The scene they had just witnessed was not one a pup so young should see. Hunters had caught their mother and the last time they saw her she had told them to flee. Their father was motionless upon the ground, his white fur stained red and their mother cryed out in a scream. That scream still rang in Chessa's mind and ears. Tears flew to her eyes again, he mind was telling her she wouldnt see her mother again but she refused to believe it. Her father, he was playing dead, and when the humans were least expecting it, he would get their mother and they would go. They would come and find them, she hoped. Tears began to stream down her face but she was still afraid. " Litharaz come on! " She darted into the longer grass, panting heavily, her eyes blurred from the water that refused to run down her pale fur. She soon arrived at a small stream, a few trees were clumped by it. Calling out to her brother once more, Chessa settled herself near the trunks of the trees. She wrapped her tail in front of her paws and layed her head down, still snivelling and shivering.

Litharaz was not far behind his sister. The small pup, no older than she, followed as quickly as he could. The pictures of the past events had hurt him deeply but he refused to show it, he concentrated on getting awya form there like they had promised their mother, there would be plenty of time for thinking about the past scene later. He arrived by his sisters side and curled up beside her. " Its going to be ok Ches...Mom will come and get us soon... "

You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on...

Risen

The gray huntress doddled along as she began her search for the most wicked packmembers ever. Pups weren't one of her favorit creatures, but they were the ones most easily brainwashed. When they came into her sight, a wildly evil smirk grew upon her maw. However she put up a good front and began to trot slowly with her head low to the dog pups, showing she was no threat... to them..... if they cooperated.

Her bright yellow orbes looked at both pup's forehead and she spoke kindly. "My dear children." She forced out, as if just taking notice to Chessa's crying. "What's wrong?" She almost whimpered, but couldn't bring herself to do so. It was plain to see that the pups wouldn't be able to tell her dark side. She couldn't turn these pups evil in a day, you have to pluck the right notes to get them to play your tune.

"My name is Risen. Youngest out of Vicious and Fallen. May I ask of your names, and what is the matter?" Her eyes held sorrow. Fake sorrow, but it seemed so.. so real....

Chessa and Litharaz

Litharaz was the first to see the wolf approaching. He jumped to his feet and let out a small but vicious snarl, trying to scare her off, but to no avail. It was a pitiful attempt but an attempt none-the-less. The wolfess approached them, her body language was not threatening, but still Litharaz held some degree of hostility towards Risen. " We are not your dear children. I am Litharaz and this is my sister Chessa... " Out of himself and his sister he was probably going to be the easiest to mould into something that would be pure evil. The American white Shepherd was already pretty stong in body and mind.

Chessa was startled when her brother began to growl. Standing up and spinning round, she saw the wolfess. Swallowing hard and blinking back the tears she was about to speak when Litharaz did so. She stayed quiet, knowing better than to argue with her brother. When he fell silent, Chessa spoke of what had happened, her voice wavered but no tears did spill. " Our father and mother have been captured by the humans. " At this point Litharaz growled. " The took them and we ran here...We do not know what to do... " She looked to Risen for some sort of protection or comfort, not knowing Risen was not like that.

VINDARI

You can throw me like a boomerang,

The porcelain minx had spent the majority of the month roaming the Eskers, nose in the air, searching out potential pack mates when she stumbled upon the scent of two young canines. The fact that these two youngsters were out and about alone led her to do what any femme with any maternal instinct would do - diligently search them out. Vindari came from a bearing directly opposite Risen and slowed her pace considerably when she clapped eyes on the other female. Taking slow premeditated strides, she observed the one called Risen carefully. Vindari had a frighteningly superior judge of character, one of the many reasons she was sent out in the first place by her brother to recruit. She had heard his beckoning call not to long ago, but paid it no heed; she hadn't finished her duties yet. It was for a general audience, but she knew her brother solely wanted her final judgment of the two potential members. Vindari and Blazed had been through much since the very moment they began their fight against the Lurkers. The quarrel was long over, but it left an everlasting bond of trust that was even stronger now there were new and more dangerous foes about. So as she watched Risen, it was her eerie sense of judgment that red flagged the stony colored female.

The slight bodied huntress lengthened her purposeful stride, twin peaks drinking in the other she-wolf's expressions, her iridescent azul orbs narrowing in scrutiny. The vixen came beside the little female called Chessa, carefully maintaining a respectful and less alarming distance from the distressed lass. She did naught but glance down at the pups before she fixed the spitfire with an intense stare full of scrutiny. Good reason told her to give the femme the benefit of the doubt, but instinct told her to be cautious. Her instinctual impressions had saved her skin a number of times, and she was not about to start disregarding it now. The torrid gaze never left Risen as Vindari listened to the little fatale relay her disastrous account. Vindari was not a pup and saw through the façade Risen constructed. She had years of experience with things these young ones would not come to learn for some time. If Risen had any intention of harming these pups, she'd have to get through Vindari first.

I'll come back and beat you up.

Risen

Her expression gave a soft side, hiding her joy of what these pups could be molded into. She gave a quick glance to Vindari. Risen had no intention on hurting the pups, oh no... Her plan was to make them some of the most feared dogs in the world.

With a more horridly sorrowful tone she almost cried to Chessa "Oh you poor things," Her ears planned to the side and she got down on her front legs, she forced out a whimper that seemed very real. "It just so happen's I am creating a new pack, If you like, you and your brother can live with me until you are old enough to seek out your parents. And I shall help." She turned to Vindari, as if to keep out of her business, hiding the dark message from the children.

Masked orbs looked softly at the pups, deep into Chessa's own soul. "What do you say. We are not big yet, but strong and our family will be tight." She smiled to the pups and awaited Chessa's answer.

Chessa and Litharaz

Litharaz was rather shocked when not one but two females were soon crowded round them. Not particularly liking this predicament, Litharaz once again growled pitifully, showing his disliking of this stand-off between these two femmes. He could sense something was wrong here. It seemed the one called Vindari was not a big fan of the one called Risen. Staying quiet, apart from the odd growl, Litharaz reserved judgement on the pair, and watched their actions closely.

Chessa was becoming more and more surprised by the minute. Her ears caught onto the sounds of another approaching and her head snapped round to get a good look at whoever, or whatever, was coming towards them. It turned out to be another female. Thankfully this one stayed far enough away that she was not intruding on the pups personal space, however the one called Risen seemed to be a bit too eager. She met the eyes of Vindari as the vixen looked down at her and her brother. Chessa backed up when the two adults locked eye contact. She knew very little about heirarchy and pack life, as she and her brother had lived by themselves with their mother and father and no-one else; however she could tell these two did not like each other, or at least it seemed that way.

Risen lowered herself to Chessa's level as she cooed out the things Chessa wished to hear. The offer was indeed tempting, to go and live in the protection of a small pack and then they would help her and her brother find their parents! You could see the hope in Chessa's eyes as Risen said that. However something stopped her, Why would Vindari be here? Was she one of this pack Risen had spoken of? Or did she have something to say? At this point, Chessa turned to look at Vindari. She said nothing, just looked at the her.

At this point Litharaz butted in. How can we be sure your not lying to us?

VINDARI

Vindari's lip quivered dangerously while hollow promises leaked from Risen's mouth. Vindari and Blazed's own brother had been taken by humans; to try and rescue him had cost them Dangerous Summer, their eldest sister, her life. The attempt to retake their mother was futile, especially with pups! "Don't make promise you can't keep, m'dear." The hope in the little belle's eyes from Risen's empty words infuriated Vindari, and yet she contained herself. She wanted to see Risen defend her promise. Little did Vindari know that this Risen character was in fact one of Blazed's temporary houseguests. Quite ironic, isn't it?

As Chessa directed an unwavering gaze in her direction, Vindari only glanced down briefly. Although Vindari did not yet know it, Risen was, as of recently, a pack member. Vindari was also more than willing to offer the young canines a home in Toklat Canyon, but she would wait.

Risen

Golden coins grew with slight joy as the pup showed her hope. Though soon the 'joy' faded into brewing hatred toward Vindari. "My promise is not empty. I have a grudge against the humans, and I would more than happily follow to rescue their parents. But time is of the essense. If we were to leave now, the pup's lives would be in danger." As if Risen cared. To her these two runts were possible minions, and that was it.

Her head turned to Lith and she spoke kindly, "My dear boy, what reason do I have to lie to you? I would more than gladly lead you to find your parents when you grow of a strengthful age." She stood now and turned only slightly. "My dear pups, my pack offers strength and protection. And A promise that you will become strong enough for the humans to fear you, along with many others who dare threaten you, and give the opportunity to free your parents at no expense to you. By the time you are of age, the pack will be large enough the humans will have to bend to our rules and set your parents free." Her gaze again shot up to Vindari, and she gave a grave nod. Then turned back for the pup's responce.

Hidden Betrayal

Rain clouds formed above as the black huntress moved with deadly silence to the eskers. She could feel her sister here. Although they were not related by blood, Risen and her were ever so close now. Although they werent. A hatred for one another was still deep inside but put to rest for now. Hidden Betrayal stood atop an esker gazing down at the four some, the wind howling and blowing her fur making her look larger and more regal then ever. She was down wind from them but Risen would be able to see her if she just looked up. A clap of lightening struck, streaking the falling suns last rays on the ground behind her but Betrayal did not move. It was almost like the black wolfess were a statue. A breathing statue.

Chessa and Litharaz

Hmmm...
Litharaz wasn't totally convinced, but when Risen said something about people fearing him, it sealed the deal. Well, For Litharaz. Stepping forward with his head held high Litharaz bore no expression as he said, " I will come with you. As will my sister. "

Chessa looked at her brother with a look that said 'Why did you do that?!' but she could not argue with him. Instead she looked again to Vindari. Even though she did not know the name of this vixen or anything about her, she seemed to feel safer with Vindari than she did with Risen. The clap of lightning made Chessa dip her head down, she dropped into the ears and pinned her ears back. She hated thunderstorms.

" Well are we going or are we just gonna stand here all day? " Risen had more chance with Litharaz than Chessa. He was already showing signs of being an uncontrolable monster. However on the point of him and Chessa going with Risen he stood firm, but Chessa didn't feel too good about it. She just hoped Vindari would come with them. She didn't really trust Risen but she didn't know why...

VINDARI

Vindari looked highly displeased with Litharaz's rash actions and lifted a lip in disdain. Humans already feared wolves, but those with guns were something to be reckoned with. The wolves had no chance, especially when humans were aided with such weaponry. She had to get someone to watch the two pups; the porcelain vixen wasn't going to give up on them easily. Snapped out of her thinking by the thunder, Vindari only blinked in irritation with the arrival of the thunderstorm. It was time to call upon the services of an old friend. The ivory femora tossed her majestic crown back, letting fly a short but urgent beckoning to her old falcon friend, Unknown Spirit. As she ended her summons, she dropped her gaze to meet Chessa's and gave her a reassuring smile. She wanted Unknown to watch the pups, and she wasn't trying to hide her intentions.

It didn't take long for Vindari's call to reach the ears of a female greyfalcon perched high above Toklat Canyon. She was always near Danger's offspring, especially his alabaster daughter. Vindari had a habit of getting herself in the best fighting stitches, so pleased Unknown greatly to be summoned like so, she hadn't had a good fight for some time. Unfortunately for her, though, it was not a fight Vindari had herself, but the ebony fae on the high ground looked strangely well placed for a surprise arrival. The falcon's glittering eyes were one of her greatest weapon. The aerial predator could see farther and with much more detail than any land-loving predator. The greyfalcon plastered her wings against her body as she dropped from a frightening altitude and thrust them at such an angle she passed over Hidden Betrayal by only a hairsbreadth with a fierce call in what only Unknown Spirit would consider a subtle warning. Hidden was no longer hidden. Unknown Spirit saw her, and why she was here, the falcon did not know and she didn't like how Hidden Betrayal, as Blazed's temporary guest was hanging back like so. It didn't build a whole lotta trust when a new pack member snuck up behind you. But then, it seemed Vindari didn't know these two were her brother's newest acquaintances.

Whatchya be needin' mah dear

Unknown alighted on Vindari's back, rotating her cranium to survey the predicament. The falcon's gaze lingered on the pups as she awaited an explanation.

Vindari's icy blue lanterns caught the movement of Unknown's ebony wings against the lightning streaked night. She was relieved the winged predator responded so quickly. It was also her quick dive that indicated the presence of another wolf. With an icy glare at the ebony wolf, Vindari turned her attention to the falcon perched on her back.

I'd like you to keep an eye on the dog pups for me, will you?

The falcon looked at her peculiarly. No, she didn't know Hidden and Risen were her new pack mates.

As you wish, Vind.

Unknown ruffled her wings and with a gentle bit of pressure on Vindari's back, she launched into the air, circling above. Vindari would have one helluva surprise waiting for her back at the canyon.

Risen

Golden orbs fixed upward and found Betrayal just yards infront of her. Her lips gave a Hidden manic smile and she trotted past her. "New recruites" she whispered. "Though the female will need more convincing." She hissed and turned looking kindly at the puppies. Turning back to Betrayal. "The male however seems tightly hooked to the thought of power." She turned and in a more kindly voice she called out "Come on children." And with that she took off for Toklat Canyon.
