Lost

The little hybrid whimpered softly as she trotted to the eskers. The adolescent had become lost from the rest of her family and now she had no idea how to get back to the silver glades and to her parents, Aaka and Legosa. She trotted up and esker as storm clouds from above roared their fury and began to pelt rain on her little body. She was not like her parents. The little female was kind hearted and a little sweet heart. She did not know how to be mean, although she had tried before and could not understand it. At all. She trotted up one of the eskers and yelped as a lightening bolt flashed through the sky, scaring her and causing her to tumble down the other side of the esker. As she rolled to the bottom she stood her now sore body. She had hit a rather large rock on the way down and was bruised, scared, and hungry. She whimpered and shook the dirt and sand from her bodice and looked all about her letting out soft whimpers for help. No one would be able to hear her through the thunder and not many souls were about in the pouring down rain so Lost's chances of being found were slim and few.

.Mysti.

.The young Arabian mare had been wandering around the eskers, when it started to rain. Excellent! She loved the rain, but storms were something else. She felt she could handle this one, though, and so instead of heading for the coverage of the trees, she continued onward, over the tall eskers. One of those eskers just happened to be the same one the pup had climbed and then fallen down.

Mysti looked down as she finally started toward the ground again, and she shrieked lightly and hopped off to the side before she could hit the youngster with her dangerous hooves. She snorted lightly, eyes a bit wide, and wheeled around. A canine! Not a good sign; coming across a pup like that. Yet the thing seemed to be lost and hungry, especially beaten up. Listening hard through the pouring rain, she spoke rather loudly, "Hello, young one." she greeted, standing there above the pup. She lowered her large velvety nose down to Lost, and sniffed her cautiously.

Pheral

She had been searching far and wide for the childeren of Aaka and Legosa, bound to do something useful for the predators in the valley, in hopes of gaining some respect. Or at least get some more allies, for a giant sow like herself might look quite tempting to a hungry pack of wolves.

Her sense of smell was incredible; rivaling that of the wolf. It was to her relief when she came across Lost's scent, heading for the Eskers. And then came the storm... it nearly washed away the adolescent's trail, and it would have too if tracks weren't so fresh. Pressing on through the growing torrent, Pheral caught sound of a shriek. A horse! Not what she was looking for, but by the sounds of it, perhapse the equine had happened across Lost.

Moving quicker, squinting through the deluge, Pheral finally came across the young wolf, drenched in the down poor and standing near a mare. She moved slowly now, knowing that a quarter-ton sow with four blade-like tusks might not be the most friendly looking thing to be approached by, especially to someone like Lost, already frightened by the storm. "You are one of Aaka's childeren, aren't you?" Pheral asked, keeping a respectful distance from both Lost and Mysti.

Lost

She stared at the horse and her breath caught in her lungs; it was either from cold or from pure fear. "I....I'm Lost." She whispered. Her voice was barely audible as she stared at the great equine. She moved forth and gently touched her nose to the horse ready to spring back at the slightest movement. With a whimper she curled up at the mares feet and shivered trying to conserve her body heat.

As Pheral came forth she shivered once more and listened to the sow without so much as moving. When the pig quit speaking she nodded her head and curled in a tighter ball. She was so cold, so scared....So Alone

.Mysti.

The rather small looking mare continued to look down, towering among the pup, when her keen auds swiveled and her head turned. That was when her eyes met the shape of some giant pig creature. What in the world is that? she asked herself suddenly, eyes narrowing against the rain. The huge tusks made her sidestep in the opposite direction, and then she looked back down to Lost, still being wary of the sow.

"I'm Mysti," she replied, and then looked up at the gray sky and falling rain pellets, "Why is such a young pup like you out here, with no parents or anything?" she then asked, with a smooth and easy voice. Her pelt was getting drenched in this rain, making her appear darker, but she didn't care; it was only water from the sky.

Pheral

Pheral mistook the young one's response, "Yes, little one, you are quite lost. Your mother is very worried for you, too." The sow took a few slow steps closer to Lost, squinting her dark eyes against the onslaught of rain that poured down. She wished she could comfort the adolescent against the storm, but her own fur was very coarse; nothing soft or warm to snuggle up against. "Your mother, Aaka, sent me to find you. I can lead you home now, if you'd just follow me..." She turned slightly, ready to head back if Lost was willing to follow.
