Skeil & Ankh

The two sauntered slowly into the area, staying in the mini valleys between the esker ridges. After a long ways of walking, Ankh sat down, "This is far enough, Skeil. I... I need to rest." he hated to even hint at a weakness, but he couldn't go on any further without a good rest. Pain was catching up to him now.

Skeil turned back and stood next to him, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize..." she trailed off, knowing as well he didn't want emphasis on his wounded neck. It was still bleeding, but not so badly. Infection could be a dire problem, and of course his strength would be spent easily until his body could replenish the lost life-fluid. Neither of them howled out for their pack; Ankh was too vulnerable to risk calling for unwanted attention.

Bullet, Skeil, & Ankh

It was quite a while before Bullet came trecking over one of the high esker ridges. The metallic scent of blood had caught his nose and led him in Ankh's direction. He paused momentarily to give a light bark before racing down the hill.

Skeil greeted him with a smile and a waving tail, then turned to Ankh. "He's hurt pretty bad. Infection will be a big problem, I'm afriad."

Ankh snorted lightly in protest to Skeil's words; but he couldn't really denigh the facts. "I just need rest."

Kiarra

Kiarra had fallowed Bullet and frowned when she saw Ankh, she felt bad for him. Nodding when he said he needed rest, "yeah, you need to sleep" she said with a sigh.

Bullet, Skeil, & Ankh

Ankh hung his head a bit, edgy about being seen as weak. But he flashed a quick smile and gave a nod in reply to Kiarra. Being just barely a young adult now, he really didn't hold any of the puppyish attitude that his siblings did.

"The Alleys will be safest for us to go to. We can find an old building to refuge in for the time being." Bullet pointed out. "And if the others aren't there, we can scout for them."

Skeil readily agreed, eager to get back home. Out here, the cold wind blew strong and cut through her thin, coarse coat. Slowly, they began to head for the Alleys. Ankh tried his best to keep up his pace and look as though his greivious wound didn't bother him.
