Dark Star
The famished and food deprived wolf loped exausted into the area. Just because he was starving did not mean he would be any less fatal to meet while he is in search of a meal. He moves over to a more bushy area and waits for prey.
*Caribou*
The caribou were returning from their winter migration now that things were warming up in the area and plants were growing for them to eat. A herd of several hundered had made its way to the eskers, and their scent drifted towards Dark Star. If he followed it, he would discover that the herd contained groups of healthy bucks, groups of older caribou doe, and groups of caribou doe and their new born calves.
Dark Star, Tri-Tundra & Nyscee
He smells the caribou and is about to follow the trail when his friend Tri-Tundra lopes in. "Tri-Tundra!" He called "So much has happened since you have gone! But I will speak later, there are caribou and perhaps we could hunt them together! Tell me, who was howling?" She responded as a brown wolf came into sight. "Nyscee was, do you remember her? You faught to let her stay in our pack when they wrongly accused her of attaking Kovu, the little pup who was attacked by a cougar, remember?" He turned to Nyscee and smiled. "Of course I do, and this time around I need not fight for your allowance in the pack, for it is mine." Tri-Tundra looked astonished, but only stated "More talk later, the scent is getting faint." And the loped off at full speed to find the herd.
*Caribou Herd*
It didn't take the wolves long to find the massive herd, spread out over a vast peice of land were the esker ridges weren't so high. Most of them were grazing on lichen while some were resting and chewing their cud.
A few caribou saw the wolves, but they didn't seem the least bit worried. The bucks casually continued to graze on lichen and ignore the wolves. The cow caribou and their calves were on the opposite side of the herd from where the wolves were.

Dark Star halted at the brink, and paused thinking for a moment. They seemed not the least bit afriad, and there were many a buck strong enough to lead them to a fatal outcome if he and his companions attacked. There was no way to get around to the babies without the bucks seeing them, so he figured that he must find some other source of food. "They are too numerous, we would not survive. Pehaps something smaller such as rabbit, maybe even deer would be more succesful in capturing." He ran off to look elswhere, and the other two followed.
