Devil May Cry
Midnight chassis stalked its way into the Eskers lands, twin pinnacles of jetty texture swiveling on their bases upon skull listening for the sounds of tiny feet. Sun kissed ooids searched the terra firma, whipcord of ink erect and in direct hunting position. Must be something to eat around here. Stomach growled in response. Hungry scanning of occulars took place as pads continued their stealthy pace into the lands, maw to the ground trying to catch a fresh trail of a rabbit or something bigger.
my stomach growls..will you answer?
Lady's Promise
She moved slowly trhough the eskers, letting herself smell the air. Her intention was to catch a elk or so, something large to impress her current pack with. Besides she could use the excitement as well. That is till she heard a voice, another lupines. Comming out of the few trees she was in, she spoke in a neutral voice. Was this a dangerous brute, or friendly one?
"I don't think I'd taste very good, stranger." She spoke softly. It might of been a little smart assed, but that was how she was. From her legs to her lower chest was white, and her neck to her chin was white as well. The rest was a black and gray mix. Honey colored eyes were watching him waiting to see if he would take offense to her.
Devil May Cry
Lobes of midnight swiveled in another direction other than toward a potential trail as nares picked up the scent of another canine. So others do dwell here. Gilded occuli searched the terra firma for the smell in a glance, as he wasn't one to stop anything halfway important just because of another creature in the area. As long as it didn't get in the way. Whipcord stood erect behind ashen bodice as pads again picked up pace, willing to continue with his aforementioned objective.
I don't think I'd taste very good, stranger.
Appendages halted in their tracks at the sound. It was feminine, that at least, satellites could detect, as theu swiveled upon their bases to find the source. Blood flaked twin pools of gold searched the vicinity more alertly now as the creature was directing itself to him now. Might as well be redy to engage in whatever it is they would engage in. Banter, chat, whatever. He had been alone for far too long to know what two creatures of the same species do when they meet. Perhaps a fight? No, he wouldn't be that lucky. Besides, a female would be no fun. Too whiney and weak. Banner of ash flicked once in acknowledgement of the voice as amber hued binoculars finally landed upon the vampiress a few yards away. She wasn't what he'd pictured. but then again, he hadn't leyed eyes upon another lupine in a long time. Especially a huntress. He had run into a solitary virile every once in a while traveling but females usually were the first to get a pack and stay in it. So why was this one straying? Not that he found it that important to know. Just curiousity, I guess.
Smoke washed carcuss made its way to the czaress slowly and halted a few feet from her, not sure what kind of space a feminine would require to feel comfortable. Visage bowed slightly downward ina quiet greeting before addressing the femme.
I apologize, my lady, I did not know there were others in the area.
Offering no more than this, doublets found disagreement, one pinning back upon skull in disinterest while the other stayed hooked on her silhouette, perhaps a little curious because of lack of anything to stay hooked on for so long. Pendulum flicked once more wondering if it should be a habit, visionaries narrowed slightly then widened again as labrums pulled into a slight smile, not used to the gesture so it seemed more of a smirk.
Lady's Promise
She smiled as the brute didn't seem to threaten her. Looking into his eyes she tried to see what he was thinking by the emotions rolling. A little bit maybe. Some dissapointment, perhaps he was expecting someone else...a fight from her? She wouldn't engage in one unless forced, but it wasn't because she was weak. Oh no, indeed that wasn't it. Her pelt and face held some scars, not many to make her look beaten up real bad, but one or two here. Showing that she had been in some fights before. Moving forward, her multic colored body showing slightly tense at her words, she spoke once again. After his words came to her that is.
(I apologize, my lady, I did not know there were others in the area)
"Maybe you should of used your nose better, my lord."
She could play the same game he was. A wink was given as she stopped to watch him, ready to fight if she needed to. Some brutes might not take her little smart alec words so well. Honey colored orbs watched him carefully. Before he could speak again she addded more words in softer lyrics.
"My name is Lady's Promise but you may call me Lady or Promise, whatever suits you. What are you called, stranger?"
Devil May Cry
Noticing the wolfess looking into his eyes intensely, almost as if to read him, Devil couldn't help but admire her bravery. Not amny wolves, esecially feamles, would dare look into his eyes. The red flakes in them seemed too intimidating. His own eyes had raked over her body already, taking note of the scars randomly scattered on her legs stomach and neck. Guess she was a hardy one. Good. He wouldn't want to waste his time talking to a homely wolf who didn't know what adrenaline was. As for him, he was an adrenaline junkie, always ready for some throat ripping out action. Nose twiched again as the female took a step forward, ears still unsure whether to stay pricked toward her or pin back, their usual state. He flicked his tail again, slightly frustrated with the way he had pretty mcuh forgotten body language with other wolves. or maybe he just didn't understand the body language of this wolf yet. Ears involuntarily pricked toward the wolfess as she spoke.
Maybe you should have used your nose better, my lord.
A soft growl escaped muzzle. He couldn't help it, it was a reflex to anything but respectful words. Yet he couldn't help but catch the playful intent behind them. She wasn't trying to start a fight, she was merely testing her grounds with him, wondering how much he could take. He wouldn't bite her, he couldn't. It went against his self honor to attack a female wolf. His eyes narrowed slightly in surprise as he caught the wink thrown his way a second after the words were spoken. Devil flicked his tail again, pinning one ear back.
My name is Lady's promise but you may call me Lady or Promise, whatever suits you. What are you called, stranger?
His ears again pricked, the softer melodious voice being a strange sound to him. Devil didn't really remember his mother's voice or really any female's voice that didn't throaw at least one or two snarls in every sentence. He wondered immediately at Lady's (as he decided to call her) intentions. Bowing his head for a second, his eyes glinted as he spoke.
I am called Devil May Cry or Devil, if you may. Maybe you're right. My nose must have had a malfunction. Too caught up in trying to catch a meal.
His ears pinned back after the comment and he let his head raise back up to proud stature, watching the female for her next move.
